Listening back to this with fresh ears, I want to clarify something at 4:20. You have no way to control the audio coming out of the PC *except* by adjusting the headphone fader which changes the volume of everything. There. Clarified. Comment an emoji down below.

Hi Harris, Thanks for checking out the SC3 “mixer” from us! We knew that it hadn’t been a fully spot-on gaming device for advanced or experienced gamers, so we never thought that you would test it out. That’s why it’s a surprise to us that some of your audience who should be veterans in gaming and even streaming and aren’t the targeted users of this SC3 would ask you to review it. Though we felt sorry and quite disappointed for not making a product that you would like and recommend. We have kept an eye on your channel ever since 2018 so that we have better insight into the audio gear with what kind of features will win the favor of gamers and streamers. To be honest, you and some other gaming or audio content creators inspire us to make an easy-to-use dynamic microphone, and that’s where our K658 comes out in 2020. Using this as an example, we want to explain why we didn’t include the lacking features that would help the users gamer and may make this SC3 a better mixer. First off the actual mixing function for gamers to balance the game and chat audio, and it’s also something that we can pull off now with dual input drivers by adding two ICs into the device. But it was beyond our capability a year ago when the model was designed. By saying so, the upgraded version is on the way, this very latest one will be an actual mixing device for gamers. Next, the ultra gaming/streaming audio mixer or interface should be something like the GOXLR or WaveXLR, and it’s something that only those two manufacturers (or maybe we should say they’re the staff from the same group). We come to such a conclusion partly because of all your videos about the GOXLR or the mini version, we watch those videos, again and again, to help our engineers develop a device with the routing feature that may work similarly to a very very basic GORXLR. It’s in progress, but we would say that we have found ways to achieve the audio routing. In a nutshell, we learn from the content of yours and many other creators to know better about gaming and streaming, but we’re limited by our own techniques and size and have to make compromises on some products. But we’re making progress on updating them, especially this SC3, to refine them to be more perfect gear. And the game-chat-mixing version of the SC3 is underway. Below is a further explanation of the function of this mixer if any viewers might be interested to know. First of all, by that time, we were not even able to build something with the feature of mixing game and chat audio. So we actually built this SC3 aiming at one of the best available audio “interfaces” on the market, not the $100 Focusrite Solo 3rd Gen, but the Behringer UM2 at around $50, and not for recording, but for gamers. But neither device can separate the input 1 and input 2 channels. So we call it an audio “mixer”, literally it mixes the audio from a line-in device, the microphone, and the computer. Basically, we adding some gaming features, or maybe we should use “gimmick” as one of the comments below mentioned to a Behringer UM2, but ditching the instrument input, thinking that a gamer probably doesn’t play any instrument while gaming. And then, because of the reason above, the preamp of the SC3 provides pretty much the same gain range as the Behringer UM2, around 50dB. And because of the same bit rate and sample rate as the UM2, the audio quality of the Rode Podmic USB, which requires around 56dB of gain in the video may sound a bit compressed. One of the reasons why we included the headset jack is that it really aims at entry-level users who may not even have a proper XLR mic, but just a pair of headsets. With such a mixer, at least they can up their audio game a little bit without spending more on a mic. Next, at the very first version, we did actually include the computer audio loop feature, but quite a lot of users buy it for gaming and chat (also helps us prove that there’s a huge need for a game-and-chat mix and we accelerate the development of such a mixing version). Then the teammates in the same chat would hear the same game sound. So we disable that very loop feature. At last, as a dual-pc setup, it barely works. And we don’t recommend it for that purpose either as the drawback Harris pointed out in the video. We mean that you can hook it up with your gaming PC through the USB while using the line-out jack to connect with your streaming PC, and then you can send the audio of the mic to both PCs. But if you’re a two-PC user, then you can tell the problem right away: I can get audio from and send audio to the gaming PC and I can also send audio to the streaming PC, but how can I hear audio from my streaming PC if I need the notification from Twitch? Once again to Harris, we’re sorry to make a product that fails you. But we really hope you don’t lose faith in our brand, or just don’t distrust us. The upgraded version with the game and chat mixing feature is on the way. We're also trying harder on the audio routing mixer that we’re still designing to get it to exceed your expectations in the future. Anyway, thank you again for taking the time to make this review video and pointing out the improvements we can work on. Much appreciated. Best regards, FIFINE

It seems to me he was reviewing it more as a "does it punch up" rather than "how does it compare to similar cost ones" which is a HUGE oversight imo. It should've been evaluated both directions, and as a Behringer UM2 user I think it probably would've stomped all over the UM2

Worke fine for me as well!😅
At $42, no mixer come close. I think ya losing sight of the purpose. I can plug in my Mic (or 2), go out my Headset (and Speakers) with volume control. Anything more complicated starts costing 3/4 times as much. The extra things can be done in OBS, Voicemeeter, etc. Having no software means it just works regardless of OS or even herdware. It works with even a complete mobile setup such as Android or iOS. Also a lot of USB mic suck at monitor because their headset out sounds so bad.

This mixer was the perfect option for me as I bought a PCPanel Pro a year ago. I use this mixer mainly to have audio from my pc and switch/Xbox all go to my headphones. The other features are extra which I appreciate. Couldn’t find any other product around this price range that did the job I wanted.

Looking at getting this for the same reason, just want my PS5 audio and pc audio to go to the same headset at the same time while using the mic on the headset for discord through my pc. This would work for that, correct? and is there any other thing I would need to do that with this? any cable or anything? I have very little knowledge of audio things 😂. Any help would be appreciated!
just got this thing but i have an issue with super low recording sound even with all record settings maxed out. Using with a FIFINE AM8 mic, the mic itself records very loud sound but as soon as i connect it to SC3 the sound drops like 3 times lower and i need to turn my speakers to 100% to at least hear something recorded

I have been waiting for a good breakdown on this mixer. I really like fifine and was tempted to get this, but all the other "reviews" didn't actually break it down. Thank goodness this video came out.
I was very hopeful to see a review on this from you, thank you Harris!
I picked this up over the holidays when it was on sale because I have an xlr mic and my phantom power kinda just died on me. The usb out on the mic wasn’t really cutting it so I decided to purchase it simply for the xlr input and I’m very happy with it. Not only that but I can hear myself more clearly than I could out of the audio jack on the mic itself. If you want to know more about my opinion, I will be making a video about my experience with it as a small creator using it for simple reasons

I have the mixer and i use it. For 50 shillings it is good enough. Yeah it is not the best, but again 50 for a beginner is pretty good.
I bought this out of the blue after seeing videos on it. I think it works great! It's solid and I highly recommend it for a new streamer, podcaster, etc. I've had no problems at all.
An honest revue. I purchased this item as a back up for my studio..it's still in the box and doing well. LOL. Your videos flow nicely. Thank You.
I have a BEACN mic and BEACN mix create, and the BEACN mic can NOT be used for VoiceMod software, the BEACN mic only does 96KHz studio quality and VoiceMod maxes at 48KHz, so I actually us this fifine mixer to power my Wave DX XLR mic for VoiceMod, it works PERFECT and since there is no software, the impact of CPU and Memory resources VS running the Wave XLR and elgato Wave software is AWESOME, saved me about 10% cpu usage NOT running the elgato software!! I do game and stream single PC, so this does affect my setup!! :) :) Just wanted to put that out there!!

Thanks Harris. Really wanted your opinion on this device. Thx again
I made it work for a dual PC setup & an Elgato Wave 3 microphone. I've got the Wave Link software, discord, and spotify running on stream PC, cheap mixer plugged into the game PC. ✌
I love this device! I use it daily for work. It is excellent for meetings (Zoom, Teams, Fuze, WebEx), and adding an incoming cell call (Line Out) to the mix saves on a mixer playing with a Mix-Minus function. Adding an external audio source from another device (Line In) - like questions previously recorded while presenting/talking via the XLR option is excellent! For $49, it is a steal. So, like everything else in life, there's no one solution for everything, and no two users are alike. 🙂Thank you for that video.
This was designed for people like me who want to use an XLR mic, and have mic monitoring that is lossless as well as having the ability to adjust volume levels. Im upgrading from a blue yeti setup where I don't want to use the 3.5mm input since the amp on the microphone doesn't work as well as using my default g pro x DAC. This solution is a better option than what I have now and is cheaper than going for a wave xlr, which if I like this I might upgrade to that in the future if I decide to steam. I hope that helps with target with your target audience senpai!
Honestly not a horrible review…I might order this mixer right now
I wanted to offer a particularly unique setup for which this device appears to be a good fit so far. My personal PC setup doubles as my work from home desk, so I utilize a USB switch with 5V 1A auxiliary power going into it to lighten the load on each PC's USB port. During work, I often listen to music or watch videos off my personal iPad and I will output to either my powered desktop speakers or my Sennheiser HD 560 S headphones. I specify the model to acknowledge that they don't need an amp to sound good enough for me. I do need to jump on the occasional video call and I grew tired of the minor task of plugging my headphones into the speakers' headphone port when I was listening to music via my speakers up until the call, so I wanted something where I could leave my headphones plugged in all the time. Most USB audio interfaces are understandably intended for connecting a mic or instrument to a PC, so few models have native 3.5 mm line in for my iPad to pass that through to the headphones/speakers. I know I could probably buy an adapter, but then again this mixer has a 3.5 mm line in and is more affordable than most. So far, this mixer lets me control the input volume of my iPad and separately control the output volumes to my headphones and speakers, making it perfect for the sudden work call. I should specify right now I use my webcam's mic for video calls and do have the desire to improve that for my own pride, as my room and mechanical keyboard noise can be a bit much on the other end. This does give me what seems to be a fair entry path to a better mic while solving my primary "first world problem". Hope that gives someone a bit of new perspective on how you can use this odd product offering.
I would say, honestly. My personal experience; I enjoy this interface. As I use it for content creation, gaming, and heck. Music production. As I can plug my pedal into the line-in on the interface and it actually comes out clearly! So far I do enjoy this product @FIFINE did a pretty solid job for the price. Obviously it has more features than what is more expensive, but is considered (or is) more / is simplistic. Personally, this device is solid for the price. There is obviously some other interfaces out there that can split audio for maybe even a little bit more money, but overall this is kind of a really good bang for your buck situation. As someone that uses it as a daily driver, I do enjoy this. (Keep in mind); this is my first "interface / mixer" for content creation. I have used bigger true mixers, PA's, etc. in the past. I do enjoy just the simplistics of it, the vibe of it, and overall the quality is good for what it is. I use a decently high quality mic with it (Shure MV7) and have had no shortage in issues with the quality. Keep in mind that I also use a DAW in tandem with it; so my experience and mileage may vary from what your experience is. Overall, I personally think this is a great pick up if you are just getting into creation, voice over, gaming, or music. As it does what it needs to do honestly. I would personally recommend this to a wide variety of people (just to try out, and see what you think for yourself). As everyone may have a different take / experience. Anyways, you did a fantastic job Harris, and FIFINE.
❤ Thanks you for your techs videos ❤
The moment I listened to Mixer B the difference was really clear. Felt like fifine's audio quality was diminished a bit. I use a fifine T669B which I would say is a solid microphone under $50. And I was waiting for you to review this to see if I can buy it. Im second guessing my choices now. Probably will wait for something else. Nice vid

If you already have a proper USB mic, we wouldn't call it an upgrade to get a mixer or an interface with 16-bit and 48k Hz resolution. But the audio test that Harris did is under the context of whether the SC3 is any good to beat or comes to a draw with a much higher quality mixer when it falls short for advanced gamers. For a mixer with limited gain range and ADC, it's hard to bring out the best of a dynamic mic that requires an interface with higher specs to work with it.

I'm going to get this mixer soon, I want it for the built in effects, FiFine if you see this it would be cool if instead of using the sliders for headphones, line in, etc, we could program them for specific audio sources on our pc.
@Panicthescaredycat
7 ай бұрын
That would be good, but most likely not possible, since Harris said you can't control actual audio coming from your PC, only your headphones, this means this can't actually control audio sources from your computer, which is where the "No software" comes in... So you can't go into the "software" to change settings/more options.
Thank you for this overview! Have you seen the Audio Technica AT2005 microphone? Seems like a great entry level mic that's XLR and USB. I have it and really enjoy it.
Yo I was able to tell the difference. Few years ago, I wouldn't have had a clue. Banger. Thanks for the video as always Mr. Heller.
i'd still prefer this + XM8500 + Amazon XLR Cable over any usb mic available for ~80 tbh
I would say this is a decent solution for the use case of "already have an XLR mic, but no way to feed it into the computer". Sure, there are some suss cable options in the $15-30 range, and a few adapters at $30-50... But this does seem to have some interesting "starter features" that the others lack. I'm actually in that particular use case myself - currently piping my mic through a DJ controller that I'd rather station in a different room of the house, but this mic is basically FIRE for zooms and streaming... Anyone have a better alternative that won't break the bank? I'd love the Rode Streamer X... But until they can cut that price in half, I just can't justify it when the main feature I'd use it for is as a mic converter.
THANK-YOU! I have gotten one of these because my go-xlr mini headphone output is broken and I didn't want to pay $$ to have it repaired or do it myself! So i picked up one of these! I will be using it to only monitor everything because my 2 pc set up is complicated!
Something is up with your setup. Haven't had the same issues with mine. Maybe a faulty unit?
Yeah, I can definitely tell the difference during the mic test. The difference was subtle, but as soon as it played I can tell B was of slightly lower quality.

My only real complaint is the amp is way too low. I had to add a separate headphone amp to make it loud and clear. It's a good jumping on point for XLR and mixers, but you'll want to upgrade quick.
"When you plug this into a PC" Plugs it in to a mac. lol.
Thank you , you saved me from making a bad decision. Good product but not exactly what I was looking for. Im a new a new streamerand need a audio mixer , any suggestions?
do you have a recommendation for an alternative?
should check out the MGame RGB Dual. Only $100 until the end of the year at sweet water and USB connections between 2 pcs. Integrated sound board, mixer, xlr interface, and voice changers.
Some people cant afford big fancy mixers
It seems to me like its meant to replace the Behringer UM2 for budget XLR Phantom power audio. I use a UM2 and have for some 4 years now and this seems like it would be an upgrade in every way, IF their comment about the mic youre using needing 56db when the "mixer" only does 50db is correct. I probably wont get one because when i upgrade my plan is to get a Focusrite Scarlett, but if i didnt have one yet and was going specifically cheap i think i might go for this over a UM2.
If it has a "line in" fader, and you can connect your PC threw that, then wouldn't that mean you actually can control the volume of your PC with this device??
Hey, what game audio mixer do you recommend? I want to be able to change volume on seperste things on the computer if possible
I just wanted to say that I really liked this angle. Being centered on that dark background really separated you from the background.
This device to me is more of a glorified mic interface, and that's how I use, I just run the mic output into voicemeeter and don't bother with the line in or out and only use the device as a monitor device for OBS.
@FIFINE
9 ай бұрын
Haha, considering the phantom power with a USB sound card will cost you around $35, "glorified" is the nice or exact word that we will use to describe the SC3 if you're not the user who plans to use it with a 3.5mm headset.

About 5:30, I just got my SC3 since 3 days. I have my SC3 as Game Audio / Desktop Audio. Than I used a Line-In for Discord Audio, How? Just use a headphone jack out on your PC or something like USB-C to AUX. And use that output as input for your Line-In. Since it is via AUX you will hear noise, that can be defeated with a aux ground loop (isolator) ;). Yes, I use it as a gamer and pc user. No intent to use this for streaming (and if so, not with dual pc setup)
That's exactly what I was thinking
Well, I mean you could use the line in and connect to your headphone point on your PC Then in sound mixer windows set game audio to headphones and discord to mixer That way you can turn your game down with the slider to listen to chat

Thanks for that review Harris! Though I think there are budget XLR Mics that make it worth the cost. The $25 Behringer xm8500 is a great entry level Dynamic mic and adding a $10 cable still only puts you at around $75-$80 for an XLR setup. The Wave 3 can sometimes drop to $120, but that's still $40 more than the Fifine setup. Worth it overall? Sure, but if the goal is to bring in Audio from say an Xbox or Switch, the Fifine is going to be better over all since it can handle more than one device. That is where I think this actually finds an audience, with entry level streaming playing on a console and using a low end PC or laptop. Anyway, thanks again!

For an experienced streamer who has used a lot of high-end gear, this will obviously fall short. But for a raw beginner, especially one who just wants the simplest possible interface, it can fit the bill. Perhaps the best role this thing can play is building confidence. How many potential streamers or podcasters have never gotten started because the setup, both hardware AND software, can be so intimidating.. This device completely bypasses any need to learn software. I'd say that's a good thing for a beginner.
Lol! The "Baby Voice Effect"... That definitely solidified the Like Button for me... 🥳😄🤩

We're afraid that even as the manufacturer of the SC3, we would not recommend doing so, since the bit rate and sample rate of the most entry-level Focusrite mixer/interface Solo is 24-bit and 192k Hz.

If you don't mind taking a few more steps to use it with third-party apps, like the voice meeter banana you mentioned, and making adjustments in the software instead of using the faders, yes, it could be slightly more useful whether you want to use it for balancing the game and chat audio or for doing some audio routing. We have that very tutorial uploaded on our official channel, any viewers of this comment who have any interest in this mixer could take a look at it on the home page of our KZread account.
hey harris i was just gonna buy this to just run 2 pcs with a aux cord running from my 2nd pc with actual xlr interface the wave xlr to the line in on the fifine and just use the usb straight to my gaming pc would that work with some of the problems bc i just wanna have a good way i can setup 2 pcs that isnt spending money on a $300 interface
Is it good as an audio mixer? I'm thinking to buy this mixer and a stream deck+ to control everything with the waive software, but I want an audio interface to connect a xlr mic and my heaphones (to keep it simplier). If anyone can recommend me something I will appreciate it 🙏🏻
Just bought mine so I could use my xlr that I use for my sony fx6 on my pc really disappointed that it does not allow for pc mixing expecially when they advertise it it was the whole reason I bought it sadly least I can use that mic with the pc now .
phantom power soft button sounds like a way to fry a mic waiting to happen.

Even though dynamic mics don't need phantom power they aren't damaged by it. The only mics that you can hurt with 48v are ribbon mics, which are so expensive that you'll never plug one into this device.

@@Senpai I've damaged *cheap* mics using phantom power in the past. That's not always true. (But usually is for most mics that streamers use)
I use this for Live streaming on Tiktok, Everything works perfectly fine but i really need to know if there ANY way at all so i dont hear my voice through my headphones but my viewers still hear it, any way possible? & no the Mic Moniter mut button does not work as shown in the video but is thete any other way, i use Logic pro x for this by the way.
I have not have fifine h8 headphones I can use other headphones with mic ? And I not have fifine am8 microphone
This haircut is the one 🥵
Can I use this for an Xbox
someone please help is this compatible with a Hyperx mic??
I have recently started watching your channel and can I just say you look like someone from All Time Low
It's a great $42 mute button lol. Sounds stupid but I hate the mute button on my mic as it clips/pops so I put this in my line and it's great for that.
can you do an update on this vid?
I use my SC3 daily. Maybe they willget some software for it, if possible.
