The Chateau Diaries: THE CHATEAU COMES TO LIFE!
Its all GO! at the Chateau de Lalande this week. Ian the Builder is BACK with Ian the Plasterer, and they start work on Nic and Marie's bathroom in the old Gardener's House. Philip battles tacks in his continued renovation of the sofa, Dan sources gravel for the courtyard, Mummy grows an extraordinary tomato, and the new entrance hall doors finally arrive! But most excitingly of all, the chapel comes to life as we host a mass in it!

Selmar, Selmar ! What a beautiful soul...
WOW! We're astounded by the overwhelmingly positive response to this video especially the mass. We were prompted to offer this mass because whenever we travel to Europe we always see so many beautiful but sadly neglected chapels and churches. It breaks our hearts to see these holy places deteriorating and falling to ruin. That's why we were very happy when we saw Stephanie working very hard to restore the Chapel of St. Joseph to its original glory, and thought this was one way we could help. As Stephanie mentioned we have committed to sponsor the mass again next year during the Feast Day of St Joseph the Worker in May. But based on the tremendous response to this one maybe we should do it again sooner, perhaps a Christmas vigil as some of you have suggested. I haven't spoken to Stephanie about this and I'm not sure if she will agree or if it's even possible but I will speak to her about this asap. Meantime, thanks again Stephanie for giving us this opportunity, and thanks to everyone who expressed their appreciation. God bless!

From 3 years 6 months in the future, it was Amazing to see Philips interaction prior to his Interaction! He was so naturally interactive & fit in right from the beginning! (Kinda like he's always been there!)
I was so saddened to hear about the passing of the Marquis. I've only seen him twice in your vlogs but it touched a cord in my heart and I was brought to tears. I think it brought him much peace to know that his ancestral family home is in such loving hands.

Truly heartbroken for the loss of the Marquis.
Selma is such a nice guy and so gifted.
The chemistry in the present group is wonderful. Much progress, fun, and things to look forward to seeing in the future.
It has been so wonderful to watch Hanni go from being a camera shy little wall flower to becoming open and amazingly outgoing! I, too, was surprised to learn that she is a lawyer! I'm glad that she has become one of the "family". Philippe is so handsome as well as being very talented. Selmar, as usual, makes my heart flutter a bit! LOL. I miss Gerry, wish he was at home in Lalande. Isabelle, as usual, is charming and so sweetly innocent. I miss Percy and wish he could be there as well. I wish I could watch new episodes all day!!!

Love the MASS, love the sofa, love the painting, love the tomato, love the flowers, love the doors, love the gravel, love you all❣️
Chateau LaLande becomes more and more magical. We got a beautiful Mass at the chapel with Stephanie singing. And new doors and Philip working on the settee and Selmar’s drawing and Dan with gravel and Ians in the bathroom and Mummy’s Pinocchio tomato and Marie’s flowers and Davey sending chocolate and the coup in the kitchen ending with another dance party. All this aliveness is helping keep my joy alive during this crazy time. Thank you so very much!
Always brightens up my day watching Chateau Diaries
The vlog had me smiling to laughing so many times... Fingers crossed on the lake project.. Love the Mass, so wonderful to see the Chapel filled for a service. Phillipe has a wonderful eye for color.. less is better when working with gold touches. Mommy’s veggie looked like an orange, one eyed duck to me, 😛 love her straight face at the others antics.. WOW on how big and tall the bathroom is! Selmar is so talented in so many mediums of art! And then The Kitchen Mutiny Crew.... 😆😆Cat looks so mischievous with her smiles...the whole scene was so enjoyable.. and the music and dancing.. Thank you all!!

Only thing I'm missing so much, is the smile and jolly humor of Michael Potts but there is hope.. Oliver is returning! BRILLIANT work team ♥️🥂
The chapel mass was so moving and beautiful. Selmar, ever the gentle soul and now he paints. And Philip...well, he has the sweet face of an angel. I cracked up when Mummy said she was growing Pinocchios, and then to see Hanni's reaction.
As usual, alive like a buzzing hive. Thank you Cruz family for allowing the Chapel to resound with prayer and song. The main reason I became a Patron with my little bit of support is because of the Chapel. And I, along with others, see changes happening. I'm so taken with the colours that shone with the sunbeams and light. I dream that one day I will walk into the sanctuary to say a prayer. As for the rest of the vlog, what a treat to see how progress and change is happening in such practical and artful ways. The door is bright, draft proof and handsome...yea oh yea! Pleased also to hear negotiations and events are planned for the lake. So, carry on all you delightful dear ones at Lalande as you allow the camera to capture your essence, laughter and your You for us to see. Hugs. C
Stephanie, you have the voice of an angel. The Chapel coming to life with your song really moved me. Thank you so much for sharing the moments.

Dearest Stephanie, I've been enjoying your vlog throughout the summer with great delight. Yet, today you lifted my spirits to new heights with your chapel dedication and mass. Your singing was delightful, which I know a lot about, so beautiful and then the dedication speech, including even us the viewers made me feel truly blessed. I had to write and thank you for that, it was a very special thing to me. I love history, art, and music and you brought it home for me to understand again. That's so valuable. I dream of visiting Chateau country and I hope I have the chance to come to Lalande someday. Great joy and love to you and your mission. Brava! Thank you, Opera Joe.

Requiescat in pace M. le Marquis. Thankyou for entrusting the Chateau de LaLande to Stephanie as it has brought us all so much joy and will be restored so lovingly. You chose well. 🌹
If you added a large colorful door mat at the entrance to the new doors it would look really nice. Maybe Selmar could build a wooden one that was large enough for some colorful potted plants too- something to build out the entrance to visually balance the scale, a small mat wouldn't look right but something that wraps around the bottom step would look amazing.

I find myself talking about Chateau Diaries and its beautiful 'cast of characters' in so many of my conversations -- even with people I just meet! I found myself telling the shopkeeper of a beautiful furniture store with some French antiques about Stephanie and Mummy and the chateau -- here in central Indiana! It's like you've become part of my life and it's natural to share with others. One day I will visit. Much love to you all!
The Ians are growing up so fast! i AM SO HAPPY that mass is being celebrated again in your chapel.
Mutiny handed to you with a glass of wine. Nice! LOL
Selmar, I did not know that you could sketch. It's going to be wondrous
The mass brought me to tears. But then I have become overly emotional this year. The mass was beautiful. And Im so sorry to hear about the Marquis.
When the people who offered the mass in the chapel wrote to you some months ago, it made me cry a bit because I was so touched by their thoughtfulness. I was born into Catholicism but I’m not religious. I must say that the mass today made me cry. I think that happens when I feel the sincerity deeply. So, thank you for that. It was a wonderful start to my day: a bit of worship, a bit of remembrance (the mention of your grandmother had me thinking of mine as well. I, too, was her church companion), and a whole lot of gratefulness.
I could see all past generations at the chapel service. In all different styles of clothing. It was very touching.
The stained glass is so pretty in the chapel and the sound is beautiful there. It must be nice to sing there. I wonder when any painting restoration might be done inside. I’m sorry for the loss of the marquis but he must’ve passed very pleased that you became the owner, bringing love & life back to the beloved chateau ❤️

It's a relative of both parsley and the carrot family and hilariously Cows avoid it.🐄🐄🐄. Don't get it mixed up with Hemlock😳....they look fairly similar. 🥰

The chapel service was so lovely and sighhh Selmar has completely stolen my heart with his Renaissance talents and passion for creating beauty.
You all over there at Lalande probably have no idea what a wonderful break it is to see what you are up to. My husband and I, with the occasional help of our two sons (most of the time they are studying), have been renovating a house for the past two years. While the house is starting to look great, it's no chateau!
How absolutely beautiful and moving. Merci.
Isabelle is starting a new trend in gardening, “face fruits”! 😅😂
I cried at the joy and hope with the mass in the Chapel. It was just wonderful. Stephanie thank you so much for letting me be part of such a marvelous part of the chapels life. X
