Check out Bruce Woolley. He has his own versions to both Video Killed the Radio Star and Clean Clean. He co-wrote Video Killed the Radio Star with Trevor Horn, they went their own ways forming their own bands and creating their own versions. Bruce created Bruce Woolley & The Camera Club. Trevor created The Buggles. As far as Clean Clean I believe Bruce Woolley & the camera club wrote & recorded it. The Buggles heard it, liked it and recorded it to present for a big label deal. The Buggles version of Radio Killed the Video Star is by far the better version but Bruce Woolley has his own unmatched swag. Tho hes less famous he has solid songs. Below are Bruces versions to the songs, he also has alternative recorded versions to clean clean & video killed the radio star. The last link is his album which is good. kzread.info/dash/bejne/oIt-3I-go8zOfpM.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/Zaprsqqoc7zTpNY.html kzread.info/dash/bejne/qGhkx6hteM6aoaw.html

You know...I love this song like I do a lot of the Buggles...but I kind of agree with Todd in the Shadows on this...couldn't they have found a better hook than 'Clean! Clean!' for their pop song that is actually dealing really well in the majority of the lyrics with people going off to war and the 'war games' which are played around them? Really good subject and pushing the boundaries for what a pop song could be...and then it sort of just sounds like a domestos advert when they sing 'Clean! Clean!' Oh well...never mind...still a very underrated band.

@@janbosik8953 Hmmm...but my argument is that I was doing that anyway, as I was being impressed by the anti-war themes in the song...but the 'clean, clean' chorus just distracts me from that, thereby affecting my contemplation of the lyrics.

Finally a real music video! :D
OH how i remember them doing Top Of The Pops with this one in 1980!. There were so many other records that i thaught deserved to be in the charts rather than this. I wanted to KICK those oversized glasses down T.H's. throat!!. Now however, my eyes have been opened to this little gem.A pity that the big success of the previous two singles would very much overshadow both this and "Elstree".
Way way ahead of their time
Never knew there's a video for this song! What a gem I found! 😀
Never watched this video before, but still got the single, which I bought in 1980.Thanks for sharing.
Por lo menos se rescato algunos vídeos Qué no vi en esa epoca 80´s ,agradecido con youtube y este sitio.
Damn I didn't realize how good video game graphics were back then

The Buggles "Clean, Clean" The Age Of Plastic Island Records, 1980
Memories, memories, memories! 🎸🎇🕺
First video games, fan since I was 11 in 1980 learning English. Never get bored of thèse genius mediums...a masterpiece. Each track treats a topic
It's amazing to me that such a creative band could have such shitty videos. One of my favorite bands of the 80's. Wish they did more.
underrated
Música inolvidable ajena a modas, no como las mierdas de las radios comerciales de ahora...

me encanta esa canción :)
Who's still listening to this song in 2024 ?
Wow they had a lot of videos for this album!
Wow last year still feels like it’s 1998
Omg i never knew this Music video!
About bleedin' time....fantastic!
Watching this video as a kid ....i wanted to drive a German ww2 halftrack....btw that is an artillery prime mover.
Wow..... this Music is my childhood memory... and the standard of the sound on the two Buggles album is still higher and better than so many of today’s albums... this video though.... so low budget and do not match with the sound and brilliance of this song...! Actually so bad that I wish I could unsee it... But again... ‘79-80 🤷🏼♂️ Trevor and Geoff put a lot more effort I the ‘Elstree’ video as well as ‘video killed the radio star’ an ‘plastic age’ videos... Imagine if someone would create videos for those songs today with the technology available now...wow.. Clean clean was one of my absolute favorite tunes.. the video though.....
1st time I see this Video, thank you
Would love to hear Billy Idol do this song!

Could these videos being uploaded mean 40th anniversary editions of both Buggles albums? I’m sure there’s some more unreleased stuff out there, I don’t even think this video ever aired. They could easily put it all on a box set.
Por fin puedo ver el video!!!! Tantos años en mis manos Living In The Plastic Age!!! a por Kyd Dynamo!!
Geoff Downes is a Bass Vocalist aswell as a Keyboardist?, He had a deep voice at 27 back in 1979! :O

This song is proof that The Buggles had other great songs besides Video Killed The Radio Star, it's such a shame that the band didn't last longer

These two chaps contribution to popular recorded music is understated but - enormous.

Downes got to create the supergroup Asia and Horn produced for many popular acts including Pet Shop Boys, Robbie Williams and ABC. Plus he produced many future one hit wonders from Frankie Goes To Hollywood, Godley and Creme up to Tatu
Hey, that’s pretty good
Hoy cumple 1 año esta rola
You know...I love this song like I do a lot of the Buggles...but I kind of agree with Todd in the Shadows on this...couldn't they have found a better hook than 'Clean! Clean!' for their pop song that is actually dealing really well in the majority of the lyrics with people going off to war and the 'war games' which are played around them? Really good subject and pushing the boundaries for what a pop song could be...and then it sort of just sounds like a domestos advert when they sing 'Clean! Clean!' Oh well...never mind...still a very underrated band.

I think it might have actually been on purpose... it forces you to listen to the entire song and think about the lyrics. Contemplate what the song is about.

@@janbosik8953 Hmmm...but my argument is that I was doing that anyway, as I was being impressed by the anti-war themes in the song...but the 'clean, clean' chorus just distracts me from that, thereby affecting my contemplation of the lyrics.

@@BelatedCommiseration Funny thing is Todd enjoyed Clean Clean having a Billy Idol like sound which is funny because doesnt the music resemble an early music demo for Billy Idol's Rebel Yell?
Still crazy, after all these years..

Didn't know they made a video for this, very good cover of the song. I still like the original version by Bruce Woolley and Camera Club a lot more
