I was a teen back then, so no clubbing yet. But Blockbuster on the weekends, boombox, Ponderosa & Sizzler, Chuck E Cheese, watch tv shows like Airwolf, Knight Rider, A Team. Drank out of the hot garden hose. No worries about getting kidnap or anything. Scratch n sniff stickers.

The black guy's a GREAT dancer (in another clip, also Earth, Wind and Fire) but a horrifically bad singer :) I do like that it's not Auto-tuned, tho. It makes it real. I sing professionally, and I like the off-key one better than I would the fake one. :) besides, black guy's are ALWAYS cool! Look at the Gap Band. They play so well, no one noticed they'd look insane if they were white :) ! And being told your music/voice "sounds like a black musician" is a huge compliment.

you have good taste, please explore all the early post punk/ alternative/ New Wave music like this, there is so much you may have never heard of, i recommend Blondie, the B'52's, Echo & the Bunnymen, the Violent Femmes, Buzzcocks, Souxsie & the Banshee's,,just for starters,, there is tons more..
