    yeah it seems like an incredible waste of material. Even if they where only filmed occasionally. Generally this was a lot of time and effort for all involved for a 30minute program.

    I think what might have saved this show was more emphasis on the housing situation. If you're going to take them away for a week, incorporate more of that into the show. The funniest bits tend to be when they're talking about how they lived together.

    The idea that these three have lived together in a house for a week, isolated from the outside world, is far more interesting than this game. And how the hell did they get three British celebrities to take a week off their schedule at the same time for this? How much do they get paid to be cut off from their family, internet, etc for that long?

    This was a great panel show, and no idea why it got cancelled especially on the BBC. The only reason I can think of is it must have been fucking expensive. First, pay all these celebs enough money to take 4 days out of their schedule, feed them, house them and give some form of entertainment whilst they are in the house. Then pay SKY and ITV for fake news items (because the BBC wouldn't let them use their correspondents), it must have been a fortune. Also David and the rest of the panel really laid into the BBC last episode maybe it was a bitter exec.

    Two things that I love about this: 1) it is genuinely filmed a week apart, so contestants have often seen the previous week's episode (as evidenced by Ed's comment) 2) how open they are with the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes into making the show One thing I wish they had done more of: Showing us what they got up to in the house

    Lynette Cowper I grew up watching those performances and they're known as LION dance (way too commonly mistaken to be a dragon dance, as you have in this case). The only dragon part of those festivities or performances would be the dragon following the pearl. The Chinese dragon is an amalgamation of animals and features you described aren't lion-like either; I wouldn't call it a mane, more a frill and the whiskers are more beardy IMO (for the whole wise look) and whiskers aren't a lion exclusive feature.

  • @lrfcowper

    @lrfcowper

    Interesting. I learned something. I also looked up news articles on this attack, though, and all of them refer to the costume as a dragon, including those of Patrick Chung, the owner of the restaurant that put on the Chinese new year event every year, and Lord Tebbit, who kicked the kid in the costume, so The Bubble was just using the actual news quotes.
