I genuinely believe he has a good heart, just had the wrong guidance in life, and it’s all taking affect now that he’s matured. He makes mistakes, but he’s never taken it to the full degree, that just tells me he’s really try to hold himself back from doing anything too stupid

Idk man the thing about pathological liars is that they lie about EVERYTHING and they constantly change their story. Shia went his entire life telling the same story about his father and his upbringing. A pathological liar has an uncontrollable impulse to lie, but rarely do they keep their stories straight because of the constant urge to make up new lies. If he did make it up then maybe he just is the best actor lol

He told the same stories about his father and in fact his father was a drug-addicted sex offender who as recently as 2019 once again said that Shia was his "honey boy, my money honey!" So what "brutal lies" did Shia tell? The fact that he's recanting now and claiming his father was blameless may be the actual lie. It's the kind of thing someone who has faced a lot of addiction therapy would say. Trying to take responsibility for their own life rather than blame others which always gives them the excuse to continue the same behavior. But by any reasonable estimate and based on his dad's own words and actions, his father is to blame for Shia's struggles.

this video didnt explain it right imo. in the end shia said he was ‘lying about his dad’ but imo i think thats because in recent years hes been on this spiritual arc where hes just been appreciative and recognising his ‘blessings’ n shit. his dad was likely still abusive asf (like pointing a gun to his head) but it seems like as shia grows, he recognises hes had privileges that he took for granted and that there was still a lot of good in his dad that he never took notice to until now dont read this part if ya dont want to but ig im mostly speaking from experience - my dad is schizophrenic and as much as ive always told myself hes a horrible dad who was hardly in my life, broke me down and didnt give me the tools to live an independently, theres times that i reflect and realize that he gave me so many privileges that i took for granted, and so much good that he still did and so much he sacrificed regardless that i never fully appreciated

There is a huge difference between you saying, "if I stayed in that house, I would have killed myself," and Shia saying what he said. Even if taken out of context, Shia had been showing a pattern of abusive behavior up until that point. He had arrested for assault a few times prior as well and was known for his anger management problems. Him saying, "I would have killed her," was serious. You have to understand that not everyone is as stable as you so you cannot compare your words to his, especially since you haven't been arrested for assault.
@dcp0102

I mean if you break it down the statements are exactly the same "If i stayed in the house i would have kms" "If I had stayed there I would have killed you" It's an overexaggeration to represent how mad/upset he was, he would most likely not have literally killed her
@njebs.
Жыл бұрын
@@dcp0102 sure, if you reduce it down to purely the semantics entirely separate from the person saying the words, it can be interpreted like that. But the difference is that as far as we are aware, X doesn't have a history of suicidal depression or self-harm, whereas Shia has a very well-documented history of substance abuse, and is a victim of abuse himself (at the time of the allegations he hadn't walked back the things he'd said about his father) which has been shown to have a possible correlation with abusers.

I think PatrickCC's journalism is usually solid and reasonably fair, including in this essay. But I think the title "The Brutal Lies..." is click-baity and inaccurate, as is his concluding statement. Regardless of what Shia states about his father in his interview with his friend Jon Bernthal at the end of the video, Shia's father was in fact an drug-addicted sex offender so it sounds rather charitable for Shia to now say his father was always loving and always there for him. It sounds more like Shia trying to reconcile with his own anger and pain from his childhood by absolving his dad of all the blame. If his father was there for him it sounds very much like it was because Shia was the family's only bread winner. In 2019 Shia's father Jeffrey said "“He’s my honey boy, my money honey! [Laughs.] You betcha,” he said. “I’m down here [in Costa Rica] on my own dime, but if my dime should wash up, they’ll pick up the tab.” I have zero doubt that Shia is troubled and angry and likely abusive at times , especially when he's drunk (all of this is by his own admission). But I think his upbringing does in fact give him a pretty damn good excuse for why he's struggled so much with his fame.

Trying to make some type of peace with past traumatic events is important. In a way it can be crutch or excuse. Blaming or finding the reason you act a certain way does nothing to change it. It takes personal responsibility away. Reality is no matter what has occurred you have the power to be the person you want in the present. I think maybe this is where his head is at in the last interview
@mrfrickboy6704

yeah people in chat saying shit like "burn in hell shia" obviously don't understand how broken he was/is. The fact the Shia hasn't died by an overdose and has even lived to a point in his life where he chooses to reconcile and take up for his father is more mature than most celebrities can ever be. Hopefully he can follow the right path from now on, and maybe even change the stigma of the "child actor's demise".
@kostadim7892

Excuse? No, doesn't excuse. But it explains and offers insight into the way he is. No matter the trauma he is still responsible for his actions, but from this information we can discern he isn't some psychotic pure evil monster and is more a troubled man who clearly is struggling with his past.

Disturbia was also a very big movie when it came out even tho it isn't remembered as so. There was commercials everywhere, every teenager wanted to see it since it played at that ballpark but would go for a bit younger and older audiences also. I'm not saying it was Indiana or Transformers change for his career but it paved the way for that to be enivitable, also those two bigger movies happen to be so bad but it still solidified him as a big deal ofc. Went see both in theaters, Transformers only because there was nothing else going so we reluclantly went and my friend fell asleep in the middle of it 😂 Indiana Jones had hope since back then bringing back old ip's was just starting and not so normal thing but it just was attrocious. Disturbia is like an ok movie, it was fun little teenage flick for it's time. Kinda one way to spin Hithcocks Rear Window really.

This was eye opening, then I blinked
I don't normally comment XQC, but right around 7:50 minutes into the video, you asked the question, how can alcohol make some people sad and some people happy, well I was a severe alcoholic to the point of having up to 10 withdrawal seizures a day and was incredibly close to dying the many times I tried to quit, I now just hit my 2 year mark in sobriety but I can tell you that the answer to your question is a bit more complicated. Etoh, or ethanol alcohol is a depressant and downer, meaning depending on your mental state at the time, this can accentuate certain emotions. Some people are far more prone to exhibiting certain emotions and behavioral patterns while in this intoxicated state. Alcohol, especially in high amounts can create a sedated comfortable state in your mind, but your body, all of its systems including the brain, and organs are having to work harder to keep you alive, all the while you are feeling these accentuated emotions in the anesthetic state. If you do this in excess over time, like almost anything, it will ultimately lead to an unfortunate untimely death, and that is addiction in a nutshell. There are many variables that can cause a person to sway up and down in some sort of emotional chaos, particularly how you are truly feeling inside deep down about your life, your actions throughout life, the emotions you associate with memories ie sadness, happiness, joy, and the extremity to which you associate those emotions to certain things. All of these things can cause for an inebriated individual to go off the rails with their head spinning around one particular thing and in some cases, actually acting on those extremely accentuated emotions without even consciously realizing what they are doing. There is the illusion that alcohol is supposed to make you happy and give you sense of confidence, because that is how it is advertised and socially accepted by people everywhere. However I can tell you brother, that out all of the friends I knew, acquaintances in AA/rehab, and family members who were truly severe alcoholics, not a single one of them were happy with themselves or their choices/actions in life. Many people I know from rehab and elsewhere have died a very slow and painful death from alcoholism and other drugs. I sincerely hope that Minx can get the help that she needs🙏❤️

He's deeply disturbed, but I think he's got a really good heart regardless of anything he might have lied about. So I will wish him the best, always.
Honestly godamn, this kid was talented.
Alcohol makes you uninhibited, that's why we become less shy, but it also amplifies the most distilled desires a person has. Alcohol is a lens of character.
if "never let them know your next move" was a person
he said its different for everyone and also it can be different each time you drink alchol. Sometimes i drink it and feel on top of the world and other times i can be severely depressed and melancholy. Its really just a gamble.

Those 90s and early 2000s child stars are different
Some might call kids materialistic, but I don't think it's fair to expect high levels of spirituality and detachment from children. Toys, clothes, some electronics... it's not unexpected to care about that when you're a pre-teen, even after. Nor does it necessarily make you shallow.
