@@luuska8657 you also need to make a connection with the kyber crystal, that is why Din Djarin feels like its incredibly heavy, because he lacks that connection. He needs to open himself to the crystal, and as the connection grows stronger then it will feel lighter for him.

Remember the episode when Sabine trained with Kanan how to use the darksaber, how Kanan pushed her to aknowledge that she build a weapon designed to kill Mandalorians for the Empire? I think Din must come to peace with himself, with the fact that he wants to be with Grogu, with the fact that he begins to question the fanatic ways of the Children of the Watch and the fact that he has claim to the title of Mand'alor.

In the early days (i don't know if it's canon) supposedly the theory was that lightsaber blades were constantly spinning, like a gyroscope. The longer it spun, the harder and harder the centrifugal force became, eventually making it almost impossible to hold steady unless you were trained. Obviously the Darksaber blade doesn't spin but maybe the insides do. Or maybe they just trashed that entire idea.

Mando: cuts a dude in half with the dark saber Me: Okay, so clearly Din is still working through some things ...

Armorer: "You are a Mandalorian no more." If anyone ever tries to tell you that cancel culture is a recent phenomenon, just remember it existed a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.

Nice Terminator feelings on the night of a thousand tears.

I think the armourer knows something we don't know. She straight-up let Mando walk out of there with the dark sabre, with his armour, with the chain mail she forged for Grogu, and basically told him to get his shiny ass to the Beskar mines. So the only punishment for breaking the creed, is that you're not forced to hang around with those two anymore? All she does is talk about the past, forge stuff, explain the plot, and sit with her back to the door. He's not missing much.

One thing I liked about the Mando's taking off their jet packs, it's similar to how the jedi always remove their outer robes before a fight with other force wielders.

Massive props to Bryce Dallas Howard. She directed a stunning episode of pure Star Wars goodness. Mesmerizing from beginning to end.

The BD unit's injury and scanning were my favourite references to Jedi: Fallen Order. Amazing episode 9.5/10

That first scene was Bryce Dallas Howard waking up and CHOOSING VIOLENCE. In Mando s1 she got to play with an AT-ST, in s2 she got to play wirh Bo Katan, and it was fun as hell. They give her the damn Darksaber and she just goes HAM, straightup decapitation Five years post ROTJ, the X-wing should still be a contemporary starfighter, and that restored N-1 left them in the damn dust. amazing All that and they crammed in some Trials Of Thr Darksaber lore, just mindbogglingly awesome

Thought the X-wing by this timeframe was actually less-than-contemporary, behind the E-wing and the upcoming T-70 series? Would make sense since this is roughly 3-5 ABY, and the E-wing was already in development.

Along with it being the Boonta Eve podracing course, it is also Begger's canyon, which is what Luke references when doing the death star trench run, so a bit of a double reference there. "We'll go at it full throttle. It'll be just like Begger's canyon back home" - Luke.

Everything made today is made by people who love Star Wars. Only gatekeepers like to say otherwise.

"The mythosaur will rise up to herald a new age of mandalore." Just like Fett will ride the Rancor. I swear on all I know about storytelling... Mando will ride a mythosaur in the next three years.

As someone who's owned a LEGO N-1 Starfighter since I was 12, I was incredibly happy with the return of one of my favorite starfighters. Really digging the retrofitted look and I can't wait until I start seeing it in stores.

@@BlairLSK Agreed. The contrasting design philosophies between the N-1 and the X-wings was definitely apparent. Naboo really was an odd duck for being one of the few worlds that prioritized design asthetic as much as the capabilities of their ships.

I just love how they blend the Prequels and the Original Trilogy in this series. The Podrace call back hit me right in my Prequel loving feels. The Phantom Menace was the movie that got me into Star Wars when I was 5. Still remember seeing it in theaters with my parents. These last 2 Chapters are going to be insane! Hopefully Bossk and Dengar show up in Chapter 6. Can’t wait until next Wednesday!

No way, I saw Phantom Menace for my 5th birthday! Minor difference though, I'd already grown up on the original trilogy. Otherwise yeah, seeing an N1 starfighter for the first time since AotC was awesome! It bothers me when the older fans hate on the prequels simply for them not being what they wanted.

Amazing parents you had. Have seen at 8 years old when he was released . Still have memories, the sound was so loud ! Have seen after thr 4-5-6 in old VHS. That a special vibe here !

I'm fairly sure the Armourer deliberately exiled/excommunicated Din Djaric specifically to force him out into the world for some higher purpose.

She's definitely got ulterior motives.

I think Bendu hit the nail on the head, while Din is not a full-on space gear head, he does have a lot of mechanical expertise and an appreciation for starships. We kind of see it when he and Kuiil fix the razorcrest. I also feel that little nods to stuff like that is a big part of Star Wars. Lots of characters have little nods to their past and hobbies to flesh them out quick without a huge lore dump. The best ones I can think of is languages. Many major Star Wars characters have picked up multiple languages as a nod to their past. EDIT: Side note I don't know whether they will go this route but like you said this is major push towards Din going to Mandalore in Mandalorian season 3.

Definitely got Rebel vibes during that little training scene. Imagine Din meeting Sabine and being taught to use it!!!!!!

@@ketchup016 Pretty sure Sabine is in Ahsoka - or can even pop up before the show -. And if she is, pretty sure Ahsoka would let Sabine handle that training, as it is far more personnal for Sabine than it is for her. It's passing down the teaching of Kanan - Basically her surrogate dad - unto another of her people. I don't think Ahsoka would train Din if Sabine is around.

Tell ya what, the Darksaber sequences gave me a whole new level of respect for Sabine Wren... that and the realization that we've been spoiled by the Jedi/Sith fights, lol

Mando with that Dark Saber! The scene of "Night Of 1000 Tears epic! Too bad about the spear but it's a gift for Grogu. All the lore, references on Tatooine and the Starfighter! Thank you Bryce, Favreau & Filoni! 2 to go!

While I do find it weird Din doesn’t just say “I’m ruler now and I say you can take off your helmet and still be Mandalorian.” He still clearly has a lot to learn. Loved how The Armorer still has this authority and presence with her. When she asks If Din’s taken off his helmet she second asks again and the second time it comes off as “Don’t make me ask again”.

Keep in mind, Din doesn't care about being Mandalore at this moment. Hell the first chance he got he tried to give the Dark Saber to Bo Katan. So it makes sense in his head, he still has to listen to the Armorer. Eventually I think he will settle into his role if he does indeed choose to go that route. But first I think he'll end up training with Luke or Ahsoka on how to properly wield the Dark Saber, since he's banned from the Covert. In season 3.

Did anyone else lose their minds for a split second when they saw the BD droid, thinking that Cal Kestis was gonna show up? Also if you see in the back when they're first talking to the Jawas, R5 motivator goes bad and he stops, puffing out smoke. That was hilarious

I just wanna see Boba tell the Pikes he’s sending someone over and Mando steps into view like Darth Maul. “Now there’s 2 of them!”

I like how much of an old school muscle car feel they have the N1. It even feels like crap at slow speeds like most high powered muscle cars/races cars.

I really like how Armorer was pretty respectful and understanding actually. She didn't admonish, curse or attack him. She had to proclaim Din apostate because of her creed and codex, but she didn't dismiss Din's question and sent him on another mission which may very well mean reclaimation of their homeland. If both she and Paz truly believed that Din was no longer Mando or unworthy then they would have tried to apprehend or kill him to take back his Beskar armour and darksaber since according to their Creed, only Mandos can use them. This tells much about both Armorer and Paz and their relation to Din

Imagine Luke trains Din to wield the darksaber like Kanan trained Sabine in rebels

Having the Darksaber among the Mandolorians is like being in possession of the Elder Wand in Harry Potter. Everyone is going to want to test their mettle against Din as long as he has it.

The best episode since the season two finale of “The Mandalorian!” I think that Mando himself has outshined Boba but I’m not complaining! This episode was EVERYTHING! 👍😍

Not just Boba he has easily become my favorite Character in the Star Wars universe. He is A Caring Compassionate Loyal Bad Ass Assassin that is also an amazing pilot plus now he has a Light Saber! Wouldn't be surprised if it turned out he was force sensitive at this point lol he is so OP

I saw about 1 week ago an article about how Mando will be flying an N1 in season 3, and I thought they were bullshitting. Well, guess they were right.

That whole N-1 build and flight sequence really brought me back to being a kid and watching The Phantom Menace in the cinema again. Seriously welled up a little.

I really don't understand why Mando and Boba don't carry medkits or medpacs. They have a very dangerous lifestyle so it would make sense.

This episode was pretty Wizard. Loved all how the references to Material such as Fallen order and phantom menace. By the looks of it Grogu’s beskar gift will be Chainmail, which makes a lot of sense for a Jedi to use since armor would restrain them.

Also, chainmail is much lighter for someone as tiny as he is and Jedi do a lot of fancy moves. Rigid armor could be an issue. Din would have observed that neither of the two Jedi he's seen wear armor. The smaller you are the quicker and more flexible you need to be in a fight. I actually speculated to myself about this after reading so many people talking about Grogu having armor with a helmut. Chainmail is perfect!!

Yep. This episode set up Season 3 of Mando. Now he has motivation to take back Mandalore so he can be “redeemed.”

I was absolutely ecstatic and definitely freaking out with seeing Din Djarin and the legendary Darksaber again in this episode. Also, seeing him fix, modify, and pilot a N-1 starfighter was absolutely incredible, especially when he said "wizard" after the test flight. I like to thank the lovely Bryce Dallas Howard for directing yet another Star Wars masterpiece.

this episode is kind of a remake for the first two episodes of the mandalorian. -bounty, warm or cold, cut in half -payment then going to a covert -the armorer makes something for him -gets into a fight with Paz and the helmet question -new job to find grogu -fix his ship because of jawas there are probably a few more parallels

the one X-wing pilot was the guy who played Luke in the Mandalorian that they CGI'd Marks face over.

Ok...so the latency lags that cause Bendu to freeze for a few seconds produced an absolute gem of a reaction image at 9:17 looooool

I love how hot-rod space ships in Star Wars have carbeurators sticking out of the hood.

Just seeing this reaction from kyle & bendu brings a smile to my face

The canyon part with the N1 fighter also reflects the tutorial mission of the game Star Wars : Starfighter in which you had to do a trial run of the canyon on Naboo.

Fun Fact - Amy Sedaris could emulate Jawa speech before she was cast for The Mandalorian!

That first New Republic pilot was played by Max Lloyd-Jones, who played Luke in Mando S2!

I really love the Robocop "Dead Or Alive, You're Coming With Me!" vibe is still strong

The attention to details, like, using mando'a numbers, is incredible. Solus, t'ad, ehn, cuir - what a masterpiece and a moment to live.

Pelli just gives every wayward droid a home. Ody Mandrell's Pit Droids, BD, R5-D4. Next time we see her she'll have freaking 4-Lom hanging around.

I love you guys. You genuinely understand and just love Star Wars as much I do. It's such a rich world, there is something for everyone.

This episode was by far the best in the series. Seeing Din with the dark saber, something made of beskar was made for Grogu, BD-1, and the phantom menace nostalgia was all so much to take in. Need more please and thank you.

Bloody Clan Vizla and their opportunistic ways. Another great job by Bryce directing. A return OF SO MANY CHARACTERS, vibro blades, that sky habitat. The Night Of A Thousand Tears with Probe Droids and K2 droids. The sparring session between the Armorer and Din TOTALLY reminded me of Kanan training Sabine. And THAT N-1 IS GORGEOUS. It's easy to forget how fast and badass the N-1 is(since we haven't seen them in action since TPM). Ik this was light on the Boba side of things, but this was worth it.

This episode was absouletly so fun and nostalgic at the same time. One thing we auve to remember about books is they have chapters and sometimes the main character isn't in every chapter. So knowing that, this episode was just amazing.

I loved seeing two generations of star ships together, N1 and X-Wing.

I love that Mando is basically 1 bad introduction away from reuniting Boba Fett with one of the people responsible for putting him in the Sarlacc Talk about awkward

This episode had more of EVERYTHING we wanted in this show and revealed so much in ONE sitting! And I expect Ep.6 to be even better! This time with Boba!

Question: If Din will visit Grogu, will he go to the Jedi Temple? If yes, will we see other Jedi Masters / Jedi in Training? That would be an opportunity to Kanonize some Legend Jedi....

Totally in agreement about Madam Garsa. She knows a lot more than she’s been letting on. Someone has been protecting her Sanctuary cantina/casino, and letting her prosper as a channel of information in Mos Espa. The question is, is she loyal exclusively to them? Or to whomever is in control, and protects her interests? I’m thinking that she might even have direct contact with Crimson Dawn, or Q’ira herself…

Boba Fett got that patented ‘Obi Wan Special Aging Treatment’. He’s only 41 in this show!😳

Astromech slot is where Grogu's gonna go, obviously, but it's not large enough for most humanoid species. It's fast as hell, no one's getting away from him, and it's more heavily armed than the Razor Crest (guns are weaker but shoot faster, and the N-1 has a torpedo launcher), but let's look at what the Crest (and for that matter, the Falcon) has that it doesn't. -Living quarters: Bunks, Refresher (potty), galley -Storage (Even an X-wing has a cargo compartment, the N-1 does not) -Workspace: armory, crafting, maintenance, that kind of stuff -Range: fighters are hyperspace capable but have significantly less fuel tankage Long story short, traveling adventurers need a certain level of self-reliance, and their vehicles should reflect this. The fighter means Din now needs a base to operate from...

Love how this back door recanonises the idea that Sabres need a mental element to wield successfully

I don't think I really knew how much I missed Din until this episode. The Boba series is good, but it was the Mandalorian that reignited the Star Wars love. Needed this!

That Terminator looking scene was a bunch of K-2SO droids shooting bodies.

This was a great opener to season 3 of The Mandalorian! ...Wait a minute 😂 This episode was so enjoyable, I've been smiling all day long. 😁

Got big time "Terminator" vibes when the droids were hunting survivors of the nuclear attack on Mandalore.

That was obvious, but connoisseurs appreciated the war of the World homage in that scene through the probe droids from tESB.

I love all the stories behind what happened in mandalore , the armorer's thoughts on gideon, but I miss boba fett. STILL THE ONE OF THE BEST EPISODES!

The little back up gun Mando put in secure chest was FP-45 Liberator. nice that they used another obscure gun.

You could see a few of the rings they forged the spear into before the Armourer wrapped it up. Grogu's going to get a beskar chainshirt!

I think the Armorer cast him out for his own good. She could see that he needed Grogu to become one with the Darksaber. So she forged the gift for Grogu, then gave him a "way" to leave the Covert and see him again.

This episode was phenomenal. One of the best episodes they've delivered yet. Including Mando season 1 and 2

a subtle favorite for me was the reference to terminator judgement day when we saw Mandalore get destroyed and the droids walking through the rubble with the scout droids above

They took my favorite star fighter and made it into a muscle car. I just lost my shit when I saw the engine on the hood of the star fighter. The they go top it off by him hitting the NOS button to the cops. I feel that scene was for George Lucas.

The space rings place made me think Kuat and Ringo Vinda. I loved all the nods to old EU with the mandalorian language and mando being named dar’manda / Rebels too with the Tarre Vizsla name drop, the clarification that Sabine gifting Bo the saber doesn’t make Bo the owner. We needed that. I cried when we see the Night of a Thousand Tears. So sad seeing Sundari blow up and all those helmets. I wonder how the Empire could have done that. Gauntlet fighters are unstoppable, and the Duchess was destroyed. The back part of the Naboo ship is totally going to be Grogu’s car seat! To be fair, I never liked Razor Crest as much as most. I like ships with speed and more of a tough weapons armament. A Mandalorian gauntlet star fighter for example Hope to see Din and Bo Katan more in season 3 of mando. They share similar paths now. Both outcasts and honestly I’d love to see them either competitors or as a couple. All roads lead to Manda’yaim! 13:02: I still remember a season 4 Rebels preview that showed a pile of charred helmets and sad music :(((
