kelleran beq being the one to save grogu is the most Dave Filoni thing ever. Not only paying respect to Ahmed best for all he’s experienced with fans during the prequels but it being such a deep cut character instead of someone more prominent like Bariss or Vos. That’s what I call a comeback!

There was another person apart from Padme from Naboo present at the time who would have had a ship and sent someone to rescue the younglings.... JarJar

It's a big bonding experience in which she sacrifices something for the group. She could've gone back to get it, but she went after the beast instead. And afterwards she delivers 3 new foundlings to the clan too. She's turning into a pretty committed member.

The Armorer's claim that it was just a "vision" and not real, actually makes sense in way, because when Bo asked Din if he saw anything on the way down in the Mine's waters, he said he didn't. How could he have missed that if he were conscious? Furthermore meaning that Bo's plunge into the waters repurified her beliefs in the Mandolorian Way.

This episode was so much fun! The entire clan training and Grogu challenging that other kid :D Of course he was gonna win, although I wouldn't have put it past them to make him eat dirt on his first challenge when Din pushed him like that. That Order 66 sequence was fantastic! I didn't watch that show, but I recognized Ahmed immediately. Happy for him that he got his moment to shine. I reckon that was Senator Binks' ship. I bet Kelleran's relation with the Gungans is pretty good. On my watch I glanced away in the split second that the raptor took the child, I was so confused for the entire rescue mission :P That climb was pretty cool, though that heavy guy with the flamethrower got up there way too easily. Birds will throw up undigested pieces of food, sometimes whole. The food sits in a pouch in the esophagus, from where it's regurgitated. 19:46 There's always a bigger fish. Also a nice easter egg to Jurassic World, of course. So now they have 3 foundling mounts, that's gonna be epic in hopefully the next season! "All the fucking haters on twitter need to shut the fuck up and just appreciate the shit we just watched!" Amen brother! This is great Star Wars. About why Ragnar was still alive when this creature spat him out - some species of birds have a goiter - a section of the esophagus that serves as food storage. They often feed their young with this food. And Ragnar was most likely dressed in a suit of fiber armor, which is traditionally worn under the armor plates of Mandalorian armor. That's why he didn't digest.

to me, it makes sense why they live there. obviously not a friendly location, making it less likely for them to get neighbors. but also the fact that they are a warrior population makes this a great place to train and teach foundlings the dangers they may face.

Kyle Katarn's almost limitless knowledge when it comes to anything in the Star Wars universe both canon and legend, Jocasta Nu levels of information, and *The Bendu's* PASSION for everything Star Wars to the point it shaped your entire life(I know we both have a crush on Maul, don't you dare deny it.) I just wanted to thank you both for tons of amazing reactions and laughs.

I can say with a passion that I don’t like Jar Jar, but I never hated the actor and I felt bad for the hate he received but this!!! Holy Fuck, we need to know more about this guy because he might be in my top 10 favorite Jedi, he’s badass I could only imagine being approached with this role. I hope the fans will finally give him the respect he deserves. Amazing episode. The order 66 sequence made me tear up honestly and I think the clones were voiced by Temura Morrison which is the icing on the cake, and to see a gunship chase through the city. Holy fuck, this is probably my favorite Mandalorian episode. Din Djarin being an encouraging dad was amazing and Grogu had taken his first steps in becoming a Mandalorian, the Mandalorians chasing the raptor!!! Brilliant. Was that Mando’s head eavesdropping on Bo at the very end, like the very last frame of the episode

Jon Favreau, Dave Filoni, and Carl Weathers put some respect on Ahmed Best name in this fantastic episode. It was amazing to see how the ecology of the covert planet mirrors early Mandalore in the fact that everything is trying to kill them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the ship in the flashback scene is an H-type Yacht and Padme took her J-type ship to Mustafar. The H-type was her preferred method of travel, from what I know, so her sending the H-type to rescue any surviving Jedi adds a laying of depth to her during the Jedi purge.

In defense of the Armorer, I wonder how many Mando's have told her of seeing creatures in a vision, insisting they saw a real beast. Bo probably wasn't the first to claim they saw a real Mythosaur, which would explain why she brushed it off.

Odd that no one has commented that Grogu is dealing with a lot of trauma and the only person capable of seeing it is Ahsoka who isn't around often enough to be able to help. He has these flashbacks and can't talk to anyone about them, he basically has to deal with it on his own. Then there's the expectation of becoming a mandalorian too, he has no agency in his own story and by the time he does it might be too far along to change. Where as Din is being offered so many different paths to the one he is on and ignores them, pretty stark contrast in characters. I hope Grogu eventually starts talking or develops a way to communicate soon, if only so the audience can know if he is doing ok. It's an amazing puppet, when you can see so much of the character without a single word spoken.

  • @griffinsummoner

To be fair, Grogu was given agency in choosing between becoming a Mandalorian or resuming to his Jedi training. He may not be able to communicate much, but at least some (Din, Ahsoka, Luke, Bo) recognize him to be the developmentally stunted (as a result of trauma) youth that he is rather than the toddler he appears to be.

I agree with you and griffinsummoner. He's had some say, but yes, overall, he's basically been picked up and put somewhere, probably for most of his life, or at least since Order 66. I sensed a change in him after he remembered the loss of his old tribe and was accepted into his new tribe. I think before the training challenge and receiving the roundel, his presence was tolerated because Din had adopted him, and this was Din's tribe. Now he's been accepted into the tribe as one of them. He's not just Din's son anymore. He has a place where he belongs now, like he had once before with the Jedi. Hopefully this acceptance and place in the world will help him heal and overcome the trauma he has experienced. I do understand what you mean though. I've been concerned that, after 28 years of hiding his abilities, he's still afraid to show people he can wield the Force. I thought his time with Luke would change that, but it seems he's still hesitant when around people he doesn't know. 😟

I think that’s why Din’s “it’s okay, show them.” Is important. It’s not just ‘you’re safe with me’ Grogu knows that. It’s “ you’re safe with US”. It’s really kind of sweet.

"NAZGUL!" ---> BEST reaction I've heard! 😂 I was so happy to see Ahmed as a Jedi. I hadn't see the Jedi Challenge show, so, I didn't know who his character was. I grew up with the OT, but I really liked the PT and never understood the hate for Jar Jar. I think both Grogu and Bo Katan are foundlings in the sense that they both have lost their people or their tribe. Now they have both have been accepted by their new tribe. I know Grogu is Din's foundling son, but before the training challenge, he really was just there because it was his adopted father's tribe. Now, you can see it in the look on his face when she gives him that roundel. He was remembering the loss of his old tribe and now he feels accepted by his new tribe. He's one of them now, not just "Din's son." Thank goodness for you guys. It's sad to see so many out there who just do not appreciate all the lore we're getting and have such a negative attitude about this show now. BTW, have you heard anything about what that creature is called? I don't think it's a jai'galaar as some have said.

I do believe the Naboo guards intervention was planned by Padmé with Jar Jar’s help, she was one of the first out-side persons who noticed the attack on the temple and by that time she was still on Coruscant, plus the ship she used to go to Mustafar was a J-Type and the one we saw was an H-Type (probably it was her personal ship from Ep II tho)

The way the Armorer answered to Bo about the Mythosaur seems to me her blessing to become the next Mandalore.. like "obviously you saw it, it is you destined to tame it" or something similar... also the fact that Bo decided to open with the Armorer make me think that she feels, if not at home in this covert, at least belonging to the group somehow.. not to mention the honor Paz Vizla gave her calling the chief of the hunt.. I loved this episode sooo much..

Lot to unpack in a short episode. The training montage, the character growth/ arcs of bo katan and vizla, grogu officialized as a foundling, order 66 flashbacks. Just so much to unpack. Not sure if anyone else noticed but back in episode 1 season 3, look at the banners in the beginning. A mythosaur and I believe a clan fett banner as well. The F and the branch are there. There's just so much going on.

This was such an incredible episode! I love that they’re finally giving Ahmed Best the redemption arc he deserves. He put his heart into Star Wars and I’m happy he can finally get the recognition he truly deserves. Bo-Katan being part of the covert and following their rules was really nice as well. Even when she was eating alone, she still has her new clan. Also, I feel like the show is building up to have her return as Mand’alor, not Din. Which I’d be fine with. She has the ambition to lead, and now might lead them like the Children of the Watch. Last thing, but the planet the covert is on reminds me a ton of Dxun from KOTOR 2. It was a jungle planet that the Mandalorians ended up on, that had insanely dangerous wildlife, much like this current planet. Minus the jungle.

Something I think about constantly when the Battle of Coruscant gets brought up. Every ship that goes down is the size of a small city, and they're falling to the planet with, what I can only imagine, is the destructive impact of a WMD on its multi-layered surface.

Re: Why they stationed the covert on such a hostile world? This is actually how the planet Mandalore came to be. It was known to be rich in Beskar but, because of the fierce Mythosaur and the other creatures we saw Din and Bo face on Mandalore no other race was able to successfully survive on Mandalore. The Mandalorians would hunt the Mythosaur to extinction (That is, until Bo Katan saw one earlier this season) and made the planet their homeworld.
