The Body's Hidden Messages: How Emotions Impact Your Health #gabormate #trauma #selfcare #selflove
In "The Body Says No," Dr. Gabor Maté delves into the profound connection between our emotions and our physical health. Through compelling stories and insightful analysis, Maté reveals how unresolved emotional issues can manifest as physical ailments. By exploring case studies and drawing on his extensive experience as a physician, Maté illustrates how the suppression of emotions can lead to serious illnesses such as autoimmune diseases, cancer, and chronic pain. The book serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of addressing our emotional well-being to maintain optimal health.
Maté's work challenges conventional medical thinking by highlighting the intricate relationship between mind and body. He argues that our bodies often express what our minds cannot, and that understanding this connection is crucial for holistic health. By providing practical strategies for recognizing and addressing the emotional roots of illness, "The Body Says No" offers readers a path toward healing and self-discovery.

✅ “There is treatment available to you…”
✅ “You are strong!.”
" We must be willing to encounter darkness and despair when they come up and face them, over and over again if need be, without running away or numbing ourselves in the thousands of ways we conjure up to avoid the unavoidable". - By Jon Kabat-Zinn

Emotions are like thermometer readings to me.... when they begin to move me, I can begin to create instead of "acting out unconscious behavior"

Emotions definitely do impact our health and wellbeing. This morning i heard on a science show that it is best to take deep breaths when negative feelings threaten to overwhelm us.

I take Ibuprofen for pain/ inflammation and it helps me. I will take either 400, or 600 milligrams. Other people take Tylenol but it’s not good for your liver. Also, a good muscle rub cream like BenJay or Icee Hot. There are lots of things on the market to help you. But if you’re having severe pain, you should go to your doctor or to the hospital for X-rays. I hope this helps some. God bless you 🙏
