In my honest opinion I 've always thought Ray Charles was FANTASTIC

There has never been, and never will be, a movie on par with this one. This is a movie that can never be made again.

Young Frankenstein give Blues Brothers a l competition. But A lot of Great musicians & actors were Amazing showing my age

Image the whole world took 4 minutes to dance to this song all at the same time,all colours, creed's,nations,war or no war,just 4 minutes,it would change us all for the better and make the world a better place to live,I know because I'm on a mission from God to get it done,so keep your dancing shoes handy

I mean, there were shit comedies then too, and we only remember the good ones like this because they left an impact on us. There are good comedies that have come out today, it's just that the bad ones have come out recently too and so that recency bias has made us think comedies are worse now than how they were then.

This moovie is like wine: the older, the better.

advisement. This whole film was chocked with blues legends. If you ever got to see Ray Charles live (along with the Raelettes) you got a real treat. He was one of those performers that just gives off this vibe, like he is in your living room, just haning our with you. Homey, friendly, at ease.

@@theccpisaparasite8813 I've seen Ray about a dozen times and knew his bandleader, who was from Big D.David "Fathead" Newman.Ray wasn't always friendly to his players.Ive seen him stop in the middle of a song and chew out the guitar player.He was a perfectionist and could hear a mouse pissing on a bale of cotton.Ive seen when the band is playing, waiting on him to come out, it's taken 25 minutes because he wasn't happy how someone was playing the intro.There was nobody like the Great Ray Charles!

For some reason, realizing this movie is over 40 years old has made my eyes water!

Well, it is the greatest film ever made.

I sat through the matinee and then two evening showings. One of the most uplifting movies I have ever seen.

It's impossible not to admire someone like Ray Charles. The keys reflected in his glasses...ICONIC.

This movie is great on so many levels, least of which is the capture of some great musical icons who are no longer with us.

The script was writed by Dan Aykroid ( Elwood Blues). Most of the Blues Brothers band members where part of the STAX studios staff who compose and performed along main STAX artists like Wilson Pickett, Irma Tomas, Brooker T and Eddy Floyd. The Southern Soul .

I remember I saw it three times in a row when it was released, bringing as many friends as I could to share the good feelings this movie brings to everybody.... 40 years later, I still watch it again almost everytime it is displayed on TV...

If you weren't laughing your ass off you were smiling the entire movie. The greatest musical ever. Bar none.

Every time over the last decades when I unexpectedly 'fall' into this movie on TV or otherwise streaming, I have to continue watching it, can't leave till it's over. I am so happy this movie has been made!! ( with all the true genuine artists participating in it - then still with us-. Just a lot of appreciation and grace and a lot of laughs as well.

Man is movie is about every day people just getting along and understanding what makes us all the same is actually rather awesome and our best resource. So much so the villains are reduced to the background of oblivion. They get crushed under the weight of good people celebrating life to music and dance.

You cant help but feel good after watchin this. What music is all about.

A fabulous blend of great music & comedy. This film always makes me smile.

I stop count how many times I see it when I watch 20th

I've got an old video from the early 90s of me as a 4 or 5 year old dancing to this with my dad in Disney world when they had "The Blues Brothers" randomly perform on the street. My dad LOVED them, so it was great for him

I remember this idea from my childhood: They may have discussions, they may have differences. But as soon as the music starts they all dance together. There is some nice message in this.

One of my Favorite Movies of ALL TIME! "we're on a mission from God!" ✌❤😎😎🎶🙏

So sad in this world we live in today that a movie like this will not be made. But it’s okay I guess because no one today could capture the music the way this movie did. The humor, music, acting, and everything else about this movie can never be duplicated.

This film is my childhood, So underrated, Blues be dying, I think its time to get the band back together.

John Belushi .. made me laugh and made me cry (his death, sadly taken so young from us)

This was a one-of-a-kind movie. One of the best ever.

Reminds me of the behind-the-scenes video for the music video of the Te Vaka song Laka Laka (which is now one of my go-to feel good videos on KZread). Apparently also shot in the cold. Probably for the same reasons. You couldn't tell from the finished video!

Blues Bros was reviving "oldies" from the '60s. Now the movie is over twice as old as those songs were back then ...

Still one of my all-time favorite movies (yes, I'm OLD).

The song's name is actually Shake Your Tailfeathers. This has to be one of my favourite movies. Blues Brothers are just filled to capacity with really really good music.

Murphy Dunne has some awesome moves with that tambourine! One of the few still with us in 2021.

Because everyone in it is smiling. Every single person in that room and on that street just looks like they're having the most fun ever.

I remember watching this movie for the first time and seeing the little kids dancing and thinking “Oh how cute” only to remember that I was born in ‘93 and those cute little kids are a lot older than me.

Yep all in their fifties now. And all the young adults are in their seventies or older. And probably 3rd of them probably not even alive anymore. And 100% of the old people.

I loved this film and I saw it several times with always as much pleasure, a rare pearl with excellent music, a message of compassion, tolerance, anti-racism and especially a great moment of excitement, joy and laughter, because from the beginning to the end, we are not bored for a single second! With good actors and the appearance of great names in music! A little hello from France!

At first when I learned that Belushi actually sang the songs, it was hard to believe. My respect only grew. The Blues Brothers is as iconic as Smokey and the Bandit. Never tired of watching either of these iconic movies.

I am grateful that I was able to discover this masterpiece at the age of 17 when I was in high school. When she was 17 years old in the spring, she wondered if going to mass would be this exciting.

One of the best American Musicals ever made. At least as good as Singing in the Rain.

Why does this bit of movie musical history seems so authentic and FUN? 1980 was so innocent....and the Blues Bros movie just sort of targeted that demographic. But this scene sort of blended the Chicago funk and the universality of the non gentrified grunge....and again the FUN! Thanks to all involved...and I thought the Ferris Beuller cut was epic...but this is the Best!

At least watch it once a year . What talents , all legends now ...

I was lucky and got to see Ray Charles in concert in Kansas City the year before he died.. !! Fantastic concert.. The best detail in this scene is the reflection of the keyboard in his glasses as he plays.. it was done on purpose and is a triumph in cinematography.. 😀
