My great grandfather was in the black watch & when ever life gets hard I listen to the pipes & drums it must be in my genes

I never get tired of watching the Black Watch! GREAT LADS!!

Respect for the brave Scottish soldiers. We(the Boers) held them in high regard as brave fighting men, second to none. They fought bravely at Magersfontein!

One of my paternal great great uncles, Johnnie Walker, died in battle during the Boer Wars while serving with the Black Watch.

I'm a sassanach, with a Scottish father, who was serving in the HLI in Second World war. Brings a tear to my eye watching this. He's 95 on Saturday, a proud Scot, we love a sing song of Scottish tunes. I sing in a crappy Scottish accent and he plays his harmonica. He loves that song...The Northern Lights of Old Aberdeen.....we always greet each other, and he always says....there's no use Greetin'....always makes me smile....

Walked the Royal Mile myself from Edinburgh Castle at the top of the hill to Holyrood at the bottom. A highly enjoyable mile walk, must be magnificent to march down it wearing a tartan and playing the bagpipes.

Me too, 3 times, with my piper married 50 years. I’m praying he is still marching to the Black Bear somewhere in the beyond & I will find him again to follow the band to the pub in eternity..

I am English to the core but if this doesn’t stir your emotions you need to take a good hard look at yourself in the Mirror .it’s Fantastic to see & hear Scotland’s heritage at its best .

The history of some remaining Scottish regiments that fought till their regiments had numbers counted on fingers in the Great War is kept well respected by keeping up such traditions. God bless the Black Watch!

If you enjoy bagpipes, why not learn to play. There are bands all over the country, many teach for free.

As a Canadian soldier with 80% Celtic DNA this makes my heart sore. Marching with the pipes and drums is an honour. Dues gu gath.

It's been a few centuries since my family were actually Scottish (settled in New Zealand then crossed to Australia) but watching this i can't help but feel the call to return. Though we have been scattered to the corners of the world the sons and daughters of Scotland will always feel that call.

My long term boyfriend was scots/german and proud of his heritage. May he rest in peace. Still miss him 29 years later....now a widow myself...such is life...

Canadian of French/German extraction and to me nothing is better than the pipes and drums. The black Watch very respected in Canada and went to many News Year’s eve celebrations .

As a former Canadian Police Pipe Band Drum Major I felt it in my MacDonnell of Glengarry County Blood that was reminiscent of my heritage.

Bagpipes and drums they do it to me everytime. I get emotional as hell.

The performance is so solemn and unsurpassed the my soul is covered with respect and emotions From Tokyo of the Land of the Rising Sun ♨️

I am an American of Scottish and Irish descent, with a "bucket list" desire to visit my two heritage countries before I "shuffle off this mortal coil". The skirl of the pipes touches something deep in my heart and mind, and makes me very proud of my roots. Thank you for sharing these fine performances.

From a Texas Mexican I love it! Hope all is well.

There is nothing that comes close to a Scottish Marching band...except the Royal Marines. Both traditions are the best of the best...both make me so proud and both stir in me different emotions. I love the science and precision of the Royal Marines and I love the heart and spectacle of the Scots. All I can say is, fighting together we are goddam awesome, fighting apart we have lost something very special. I'm not a monarchist but I love the UK....

I learned bagpipes at 9 y/o in Anchorage, AK by the Crow Creek Pipes and Drums. During those years I thought Rowdy Roddy Piper was some pickle. Not one time, from 1988 until the Canadian Earthquake squashed the Ultimate Warrior did I ever know a kilted highlander playing Scotland the brave was a wwf wrestler. Never did I know till I was many 24 or 25 years. Lol. Cheers gentleman!

Being a proud Englishman, when ever I hear the Scot pipes and drums the hairs on the back of my neck stand up. I suddenly get this emotion of pride over me, and I feel like I can take on the world. I've loved watching and listening to the Black Watch since I saw them in the U.S. when I was a small child decades ago. It stirs me to my core. My son plans to wear the Campbell Tartan, his mom's family side, when he gets married.

Many recruits from North Staffordshire served during World War II in the Black Watch, I knew a number of them myself, including one whose funeral was in the local paper in Stoke on Trent a few days ago.

Most people are not aware of how much practice and how hard it is to march behind a band 😎

In my army years I had loads of punch ups with the jock regiments but apart from the paras and marines I can’t think of any one else I would like to share a trench with

My grandfather was in the Black Watch, and everytime I think of him I have to listen to the pipes, drums, and when I have the chance, I go to the Highland Games (Canada), love the sound of those pipes and drums 🥰

of all the pipe songs I think this one gets me right in the root of my stomach , and everytime upon hearing it I well up inside and I feel like the most patriotic scotsman alive. I feel like the pipes have some how embedded all the souls Scotland has lost into the sound of the pipes and you feel it deep in yer soul all those generations of scots lost to war. Or maybe I ive been reincarnated and died in some battle and this was the last tune I heard

My grandfather was in the Scot’s Guards, I’m looking at a photo of him in uniform as I’m typing this, he was in ww2 North Africa I think, he was a barber on the troop ship and many years later my dad used to take me round to his house for a haircut I was only a little boy then and I didn’t enjoy it !! but now I’m 69 years old and this video sort of brings back memories, you only seem to think like this when you’re older

I have just found your channel but I'm so pleased that I have. My father served in the Black Watch and it fills me with pride to see his regiment marching, despite the best efforts to destroy the Scottish regiments by merging them into one .... the Black Watch will never die.
