Welcome to my youtube channel. My name is Jim Ramsay and I stay in Central Scotland, so handy for both Glasgow and where I work in Edinburgh too. I'm aged 55, married with 2 grown up kids, a Software Engineer by trade, but passionate about videography and photography.
I got into video way back in 1990 when I purchased a Sony 8mm Camcorder. Many camcorders and cameras later I'm still out taking videos, as well as photographs as I've now found the amazing world of DSLR!
I enjoy taking videos and photographs of planes, both military and commercial. It was a fellow plane geek that told me about youtube and that you can make money from it! Here I am 10 years later and have now hit the magical 100,000 subscribers where I have now received by the "Play Button" plaque from Google!
I found quite by accident when in Glasgow one day that military band parades are exceptionally popular on youtube after the views of a homecoming parade I took went through the roof. 8 million+ now for that VT!

I've seen many various videos of those serving with the British military collapsing over the years. What's causing this? Too much practice/rehearsals and not enough breaks?

The GSM was my section commander in training, the most experienced soldier I have met, and pushed me and got me through some difficult times, just made me chuckle.
This reminded me not just of the movie, (main actor David Niven) but also when the Royal Marine Band on a regular basis used to play on Saturday' in our capital city.

Here is an unpopular opinion, being a junior officer is one of the most difficult jobs in the Army. You are expected to lead men who are at least the same age as you, or older. You are told that your minimum expectation is to be the model of the perfect soldier at all times. You are told as an officer cadet that if you are a screw up, your own men will stab you in the back and if you don't make the grade on operations, your own men will shoot you themselves. It's more pressure than many people will know or understand.
