Choopoo, you have once again exceeded my expectations. How in gods name did you think of this video. Did it go something like “hmm, monki” and just remembered these games exist. Well whatever it is, great video as always, and I will definitely rewatch it like 20 times.

9:40 I remember as a kid 100 percenting the game to get the ending with the future Aiai reveal. My sister cried so hard seeing baby go back to the future.

1:28 baby was always a time traveler, in the super monkey ball 2 manual it says on baby's section: "He came from the future to stop Dr. Bad-boon's plot to prevent the marriage between AiAi and Meemee. He is in fact the son of AiAi and Meemee...." 17:34 this was retconed btw, Classic sonic and modern sonic are (once again) one in the same

I have good news Choopo. It was recently confirmed that there is in fact only one timeline in Sonic the Hedgehog.

I would like to point out that tails tube confirmed that Sonic Superstars and Sonic Mania canonically take place in the timeline of the other games, meaning there is not a split timeline. The Sonic timeline is even more confusing than you think.

don’t forget, F-Zero GX used the Monkey Ball engine, and therefore I believe it should also be included in the Monkey Ball continuum by association

Unexpected, but very much appreciated. I actually really like the world building that SMB Adventure brought to the series.

I like how despite these characters being classified as "monkeys", they seem more similar towards that of chimps, given how they have no tails.

I believe they're actually based on Japanese macaques, which are monkeys with such short tails that it almost looks like they don't have them at all.

About a month ago my friend (who may or not be choopo {it was choopo}) invited me over to play monkey ball with him, little did I know “play monkey ball with him” meant watch him struggle to beat an octopus boss for an hour

There is no timeline split in the Sonic series anymore, that idea WAS true to the Sonic timeline, there was a split caused by Time Eater which made the current Classic Sonic games take place after the end of the classic era but in a new timeline where Sonic Adventure 1 onwards would never happend, but that was dropped when the idea of "2 worlds" presented by Takashi Iizuka in Sonic Colors and technically in the game itself (saying that Sonic's World and the Human's World were 2 different planets and not just one planet where both species lived) was dropped as well So, Classic Sonic is just the past version of Modern Sonic, after the entire Classic timeline, with Sonic 1, CD, 2, 3 & Knuckles, the Game Gear games, 3D Blast, Sonic R, etc. There is Sonic Generations, Sonic Mania, Sonic Forces (for Classic Sonic), Sonic Mania Plus, the Classic Sonic IDW comics, Sonic Superstars, more Classic Sonic IDW comics, probably the new Classic Sonic games they'll keep releasing, and then Sonic Adventure onwards until Frontiers and the next games they'll be releasing Sometimes I don't like taking the quote "everything is canon" said by Sonic Twitter account too seriously, they normally do a lot of jokes, and that reply was made to the fact that Sonic was in Puyo Puyo Tetris 2 as well, I think that quote really fricked up some things, a lot of Sonic games do not make any sense such as Sonic Blast for example, which in that game's plot a Chaos Emerald shatters and it's pieces are 5 small Chaos Emeralds, or other silly games for example SEGASonic Cosmo Fighters or Waku Waku Sonic Patrol Car And if it is already hard to fit all those Sonic games, imagine those Sega Superstars and All-Stars Crossover games, and Sonic cameos in other series such as Monkey Ball, Puyo Puyo, Daytona, etc (and the other way around with NiGHTS, Billy Hatcher and AiAi in Sonic Riders and Zero Gravity for example). it makes it really a mess... And not everything is precisely canon, for example, Sonic X since its released was said to be a completly new universe, and until this day it wasn't canonized into the mainline series canon, but it can be considered canon in some kind by what Tails said on TailsTube, where he opened the possibility of multiple alternative universes existing, which not only things such as Sonic X, Sonic OVA, the 90s cartoons, etc. could fit in, but also things such as the Superstars/All-Stars and Sonic crossovers in Monkey Ball could fit in (if the Sonic crossovers in other SEGA games are even part of the story/canon of those universes instead of just a cameo, that is)

I hadn’t heard of Super Monkey Ball before watching this video, but when I was a kid, my favorite zoo to go to was Jungle Island, which was also known as Monkey Jungle.

massive monkey ball nerd here!!!!!!!!!! i'm gonna ramble jet is given a little more context of his character in banana splitz; his bio states he's on a trip around the world and just happened to stumble on aiai by chance (quoted: "in a moment of enlightenment, he declared aiai his rival the moment they first met") he's also a very romantic person and is very closed off about it (quoted: "this side of his character must never be spoken of"). i lovelovelove him but he is overall a very wasted-potential guy and while 3D is my favorite game in the franchise the worldbuilding could have been expanded on WAY more. i latch onto 3D's unrealized worldbuilding potential for my life help. EDIT: most of this was mentioned in his 3D bio but it's a little more explained here so i didn't think to mention and the doubles are like? being retconned? they all have their own lore (which has even been mentioned in official posts re: f-gongon's confirmation for BM) but starting in bounce they're referred to mainly as costumes. even though in monkey fight (3D) they've shown to have different abilities. and i guess it's implied-ish in a comic that r-doctor is its own character but not the rest of the doubles? and then its a costume again according to the JP twitter? babe you use different pronouns from your original. so like, do with that what you will i guess. i'm not going to say gongon is my favorite because he isn't. i like f-gongon ykyk

Got more onto super monkey ball games recently, and i don't regret. started searching more about monkey ball, playing more monke, and overall liking way more the series. also got quite far in SMB deluxe's story mode/super monkey ball 1 adv. and be. modes for someone who used a only a keyboard lol
