The Biggest Hassle for Foreigners in India (Dealing with Touts)
See how many touts approach me on a 1.5km walk to the Taj Mahal in Agra! Touts & scammers in India are the biggest hassles for foreigners travelling in India. Tourists in India are hassled all day long by these touts selling overpriced rickshaw rides, food, and handicrafts. Being hassled so much while travelling in incredible India really starts to annoy you and wreck your day.
Hear me trolling them back in Hindi.
A big issue with these guys is foreigners are so used to being approached by these touts that when a local actually tries to help them or just say hello, they might think he's a tout too! It's very bad behaviour.
Nahi chahiye ji! Learn what it means here • Easy Hindi Travel Phra... (Easy travel phrases for travellers to India).
Be prepared to deal with these guys and bargain with them for the best price, with my quick-start safety guide at indiasurvivalguide.com. Stay safe and enjoy incredible India.

This is so true. The worst for me was visiting some historic shrine and being pursued by a person who wanted to give us a guided tour. Despite us ignoring him completely he kept up a running commentary on the shrine as we tried to get away. When he finished he then demanded we pay him. It looked like it could turn nasty for us but our bus driver got rid of him. I would never go back to India. The daily hassle is so wearing. You become suspicious of everyone and everything they say. As a tourist almost every person you meet lies to you and is looking to make money from you. I was glad to leave.

Some of the guys who ask you once as you walk by them I can kind of understand. But the dudes who go out of there way, begging you, over and over again, that would drive me insane.
Just come back from 3 weeks travelling in India with my young family (by train). Amazing to see this, we actually ate at the Good Vibes at 0:17 (and stayed at the fabulous, friendly Coral House Homestay nearby). We experienced exactly what you did along Taj East Gate Road. At Agra Cantt station we were approached very calmly and politely by one tuk tuk driver who gave us a reasonable price. Because of that, he got more business from us later, as I took his number. So, thank you Govindha. If only all tuk tuk drivers were as polite as you and not as persistent they would do well.

Because after seeing his videos, if any foreigner visits India he or she would stay away from these scammers and will have an overall better experience
At least I learned an important phrase in Indian "Nahi shahia je" I will print it on a T-shirt when I visit India lol
Thanks for getting my thought of visiting out of my mind. Not enough ammunition.
So basically if traveling to India, learn the language fluently or be scammed..

Sudarshan Sanjeev This isn't exactly considered the north. This is just the most northern part of CENTERAL India. The North would be places like Punjab and himachel paedesh which are significantly safer than central India. The south isn't exactly safe either FYI only the places built for tourists in the south are relatively safe.

My friend is female and she visited India alone. She was just fine and nothing violent or bad happened to my friend. She is obviously Caucasian also. I think Indian people are much nicer, friendly and genuine than most believe they just have poverty issues so they are desperate to try earning RP if they can. They don’t want to harm you, they want you to want to pay them for services. She rode rickshaws etc and not hurt

The other annoying thing about the proliferation of scammers in any country, is how grossly inefficient it makes everything. You have to waste your own time, and a ton of them are just standing/sitting around most of the time, waiting for a victim. Not to mention taking customers away from decent people.
