@@jays3597 thanks! took me 2 hours 32 minutes whole video was start to finish lol most don't realize been rebuilding engines of all kinds for years. This channel has 1000s engine rebuilds not even set to public of go carts and scooters and large scale rc since 2013. Just lost dear friend of mine I did it with. This was my covid 19 project hoping it helped a few people out not dying with there builds was my first time ever making videos and such on my own. I have every type of build for these from beginner to over the top wild explained in detail how they work and how to build one. So if you ever get wild and crazy lots info on those builds as well on this channel. You get the itch and like to tinker it's fun. Anyhow been very sick so taking a small break. Soon I'll be back 😉

I get so many people that say that! no idea how rebuild one! Thing is! there is no videos out there that shows the whole process, ones that do are missing 50% of the steps to doing it and most have no idea how to cause of it! lol age not factor if you never did it before and all info sucks to try do it lol no one would be able to do it any age! My goal was just to toss out a full train wreck rebuild most are scared to even touch that have semi good idea of how to fix it even. Then rebuild it step by step clear instructions! Most think I do all these to make cash lol I don't even participate in the programs for all that even though I could! Like I always say in my videos I do it for fun! Hope the videos help other people have fun in the process maybe learn few things help rebuild other stuff down the road! No one has hands on skills anymore to fix this kind of stuff! No one shows people how anymore I think is biggest problem!

I've liked this man from day one. Intelligent and respectful and does great work!

Sir your floor is my ceiling. I was impressed and mesmerized how you tore down this baby. I recognize the concept, but my heart tells me just to buy another new motor. Thanks for your video, I enjoyed it very much taking me to the outer limits of something I love very much. I've built many bikes, but right now I'm faced with an ultimate challenge. This guy brought me this bike that was left out in the elements for quite a while to fix. Right now I'm going through the process of elimination dealing with the clutch, carburetor overhaul, removing the head, cleaned out gas tank, removing the filter, replacing the fuel lines, and reinforcing possible air leaks. At the moment it's starting to sputter, but still won't start. I checked for spark removing the spark plug putting it against the metal head in the dark and noticed a weak spark so my next endeavor tomorrow is attack the magneto part to clean and ensure proper connections. Yeah it's become a challenge and I named the bike Frankie short for Frankenstein. Wish me well. ⚡ ⚡

I hear all time people to scared to rip blown kits apart. So I asked a few people if they had a train wreck kit. Well a guy had one I knew, then he got it running, going full throttle till the head blew off. Sent me it. He was like your welcome lol crank bearing if there is any part you watch! "Splitting the crank" link lol most impressive bearing carnage I ever seen! 🤣👍

well honestly nothing really crazy I used in the video! Gear puller if you split a crank but can buy new one 20$ anyhow lol But nothing special. mostly sockts,soctwrench, screwdriver and vice grips, crescent wrench. Only reason used a torque wrench just cause everyone always asks me the torques lol! 99% time I take a normally ratchet and do the whole thing!

@@KB_Joys yup and I used Socket for one bearing! Bearing Block for second Bearing, And Arbor Press for the 3rd bearing LOL! Just because I know 200 People will say I don't own an Arbor Press in the comments lol So did all Option1 ,2,3 PArt: 38:58 First 3 Bearings You need To Install Into Bottom Half

I was just letting you know that i wish more ppl would come forward in finding ways to help others, rather than what we are all use to seeing. It would seem most have the dollar signs in their eyes, rather than the hearts and keep any and all info to themselves, or release such information for a fee. I know its not rocket science, but there are those who need help. I just know that i for one have been burnt on bum parts, bad info, purposely misleading info, etc. And lastly i just wanna say I think its awesome what you are doing for the motorized bike community.☺️

Ok I’m glad you can confirm that you have a 47mm iron sleeve also. Becuase the 3rd engine I bought I thought was a 49mm cylinder but my calliper said 47mm. However if you buy the big bore kit by itself it’s the true bigger displacement

I had a 49mm iron sleeve and a 49mm iron sleeve methonal build. Yes they have 47mm kits as well. Head test video and this rebuild guide. Funny enough blown top end was 49mm and one I used to replace it was 47mm!

@@BuildBreakFix something that I discovered was there my iron bores had some light cylinder damage during break in. But after it seemed to “wear” some and the scoring is no longer there! I should have honed it in hindsight

@@keeganhache6667 There is no breakin on Iron sleeve engine! Well not the same as how you do a Plated Aluminum jug anyhow. Iron Sleeve just needs heat cycles to fit it's rings correctly. Heat the Engine up and then you let it cool fully 5 or 6 times. when I say heat cycles, I mean the engine up Gets to temp then you let it fully cool about 10 minutes of ride time one and off all throttle ranges to get it good hot 5 or 6 times and its ready from that point. You never ride around on one for long durations or it scours the cylinder walls! If you ride on one of them half throttle long drawn out durations cycled walls tend to slug up with wall debris and will drag along the cylinder walls in clumps scoring the walls. when engine cools off the rings and cycler walls are closer in tolerances and blow all the debri out without dragging on walls on next start up! These are called spun casted Iron sleeves" Not same as a pressed in steel Sleeve! Which again is another whole different break in lol! If the scouring cleared up then probably got lucky and was just surface scuffs! But keep that in mind if you have new iron sleeve build does not follow same rules as a Aluminum plated liner top end! and you can put your normal oil mix in right out of the gate on iron sleeve since heavy oil is to clear ring particles on a liner surface as well!

I THINK YOUR VIDIEOS R GOOD.. I GOT A MOTOR KIT N SOMEONE CLEANED MY ROOM N LOST MOST THE BOLTS N STUFF. I AM AWAITING ANOTHER KIT.. THE CLEANING PERSON HAS NOT BEEN AROUND.. GOD BLESS EVERYONE. I. REALY WANTED TO BUILD THIS BIKE..DO YOU SOUP UP ENGINES

Even though I know most of this stuff, I wanted to watch to see alternative methods. This video is an MB gem. In regards to pressing bearings. At Harbor Freight they have a Pittsburgh 1/2 drive - 15/16" SAE deep socket. It has an OD of 34mm which sits absolutely perfect on the outer race. I had a hard time finding a socket that has the OD I need. I have a question regarding your pressing of crank seals, specifically the thick (7.5mm) seal. Is the ID lip supposed to be flapped outwards facing you? I notice my magneto seal tucks the ID in naturally, but the thick seal the ID is never flapped inwards and I find myself replacing main seals more often. Even when using a 15mm socket, it still flips outwards facing you.

The flat side of crack seals face outward. Side with the U has a spring around the crank seal. Has to have oil/gas mix on it.

Not really a sit down watch it kind of video LOL 2+ hours long! If read description or first few clips of the video! I took each part so you can find what you need and are looking for easy! since most have no idea on 99.9% of each part how to get things apart or back together lol! Not really a place to go and watch a blown trash engine be rebuilt step by step if you where to attempt it and never did it before!

I have a question: mine keeps bogging down when on full throttle, then cuts out. Could it be a fuel/oil ratio issue, or something more sinister? Cheers

Drop your carbs needle one clip slot! Bike is running to rich cause needle is moving up to high! To much fuel will cause bogging wide open. Unless you have a power jet carb! Close the power jet screw all the way in that case!

Is there any good reason why a bt100 would have over 2mm squish? Mine does and I'm wondering if I should try a base gasket delete or maybe milling the jug or anything else to reduce the squish.

Supposed to have 1.7 to 2.1mm actually low end ported engine design. More torque not speed type build. Means you should be able to drive smaller rear sprocket at low to mid range. Higher rpm builds have not much lower end torque but mid to 3/4 is there power ranges those are .7mm to .8 ish ranges. Such as minarelli.

I ride every day almost rain shine or snow. Or pedal back lol. I need a minerelly and a mod saw ms 660 I still have my 79 predator for spare blew flywheel but bought billet one.i lost my license no choice plus u have hina for spare

Build a ms460 or get the new (avenger 85). That kit is turn key ready and made like a freaking tank! 199$ but worth every damn penny in my opinion. Save you lots of time and is identical porting of ms460. It's a pure monster 💪

Have a quick question for you what size are the sealed bearings in the aluminum mag rims by chance or do they come in different sizes

I got to say brother, you have been very helpful both with your very detailed videos and with answering questions. You are effin awsome! Thats for sure. Its people like you that help me continue with my only form of transportation and do somethingI love, play around with small engines. So THANK YOU SO MUCH. quick question, the pin with the ball bearing in front of it that goes in the center of the drive sprocket to disengage the clutch.... Is it normal for the bore the pin sits in to be so much larger than the pin it not only free-floats like it should but rattles around a tad? Can that get worse and end up causing issues down the road? I am half tempted to find some thin walled tubing or even a few layers of tin to remove all that play but still leave enough so the pin may still move. Or should I even bother worrying about it?

It sounds like it wasn't greased for a while. They should be snug inside the shaft. The clutch lever will probably have a grove dug into it as well. If what I'm thinking maybe that it wasn't greased or it's just getting tired. These are pure chinessium anyhow 😂 Grease it well and send it till it dies if it's worn out anyhow.

@@BuildBreakFix brand new motor, bar is great, pin just seems overly loose. the motor is so new I really do want to sleeve it or something, just finished breaking her in, I greased that pin pretty good too, it's like the hole for the pin was drilled a tad oversized than normal, (but it could be wear, awfuly earl in), to give the pin a snug fit. As this will bug me now it is too early in to run her to death. I think they make hydrolic break line that thick perhaps I can resize the boar by tapping and jb-welding some thin walled tubing of proper inside diameter for a good fit on that pin....

Thanks, so much for doing this: you are truly dedicated to the hobby, and to the hobbyist. I can't even imagine the hours (and money) you have put into this, really obsession. You really have to be married to this, like sleeping on the floor next to your projects... Bill Gates did it as a kid, his parents had to bring food and clothes to the Middle and High Schools. Honestly this whole Engine only took me 3 hours to take apart rebuild. spent like 1 hour on it one weekend 1 1/2 second and about same on that following tuesday lol! I don't spend countless hours like most think lol! Most of the CNC parts I cut! out mowing the lawn! or weeding flower beds around the house! Most my videos are already finished just released over time sometimes weeks apart made but day after day on youtube! everyone wants to see the Dual ms460 build run! well that video was 90% finished 4 weeks ago lol just have not got to the point of all other stuff around it yet! The only reason I started doing these bicycles builds was to make one to travel around to disabled veterans I know get them medications and food stuff around where I live done it free now for almost 3 years. Then made a 4 stroke cause they where more reliable and the things sip gas! The part most don't know! I am actually into RC large scale boats and trucks that use the same engine pretty much just different bottom half! I have been fixing motorized bicycles and mini bikes for people here now for about 8 years before even youtube! never owned one nor wanted to till pandemic hit and stopped all my rc clubs meets i was in! Go kart tracks shut down and that was my other hobby before bicycles. Well during the pandemics start there was a 12 year old kid most talked about. Where he got killed on motorized bicycle following a horrible how to on youtube. So from there been fixing broken stuff in ways won't kill people and here we are 2 years later! Most don't realize! I do have a channel that can be Monetized Most think I am! But I do this channel 100% free of any profits! ones I do get go to tunnel for towers!

Torch and lots of swearing. Honestly the part is 10$ Amazon or eBay. Not worth trying to rebuild it. Chances are if it's dead. Bearing races are as well inside

CDH power was selling the "upgraded Reed cage for like $20" on Ebay/amazon. They sell them normally as a stand alone item. Meaning you already need to own g2 reed! this just drops in replace old reed cage. Link is long gone now but they pop up here and there still. I honestly have not looked for on in a while cause have 3 of them sitting here now for spares! I have had several people tell me they used a pull start coil spring to make there own. Seems like it would work but I have not tried it! but it's just spring steel tabs so I can't see it not working. was interesting DIy anyhow to make one.

Well I didn't reuse any of them! They where stripped out on nut side. That was why I noted above it normally I would use 2 nuts and remove them if I was saving them. When installed new ones did it that way. This engine was well used before they sent it to me. Before they shipped it. They wot it till head blew off it in a video. He sent it With a note I think it needs a bit of work done lol good luck 🤣👍they never found the head lol

Aviation fuel??? Avation gas just has lead in it and no ethanol. Lots old timers here buy it for there cars since only fuel lead still in it. Follows same rules normal gas

Awsome video! Very detailed and very helpful even for a certified small engine mechanic. I find these motors to be their own beast when compared to say a husky chainsaw. Question, the bevel gear. I have a motor that was just breaking in perfect and all kinds of power and top end, sadly the bevel gear went 100% very prematurely. I tried to use the kits tool to remove it and the tool simply stripped out. I like your idea using the ball bearing. What do I do now though? Assuming only the tool stripped (and its just the first like two threads). I did this to two of the factory kit puller tools. Is there a better aftermarket one I can buy? Or is there any other technique to remove that bevel gear?

Sadly Chinese gear puller has .75 mm thread pitch. Not seen anything 18mm that pitch on it. Buy yeah these engines have tons demons in them 😂 it what makes it fun 🤬🔥🤬😳🤬🤣

@@BuildBreakFix So can I buy an aftermarket puller that WILL WORK? and also....right....lol...it is what makes them fun and rewarding if you keep em going as it takes the know how. Or you will shred them to bits out of the box and be lucky if you get through break-in. Just 16:1 er, lmfao... the chinese are smart marketers though....🤣

@@BuildBreakFix sorry I reread your reply. Your basically saying only the Chinese puller will possibly work there is no aftermarket one that you are awear of. Due to the oddball thread pitch. There must be another way to get that damn gear off. I am not trying to spare it or anything, like it's more than done. You should see it. Improper heat treatment

@nathanwest4670 yes. Only other puller you can buy is a 2 jaw mini puller. Has to fit teeth and you use the shart as your pin point. But never seen stock puller not work unless you strip threads on pinion or sprocket or clutch basket. If you have an impact gun it makes the puller work much easier 😂 just don't go crazy lolz

Good lord man a screwdriver? Use a penny to wedge the bevel gears.

If you break a case Hardened tungsten bevel gear or a clutch ring gear with a screwdriver which should be softer materials to start with. You need to save that penny to buy better parts 😂

O problema é que esses rolamentos não são classificados para RPMS, as pessoas tentam conduzi-los. Classificado apenas para 6.000 rpm. 6.500 empurrando e qualquer coisa além que destrua a corrida. Em seguida, os rolos se perdem e o jogo vira pó. É por isso que a caixa do tipo CNC tem rolamentos de haste de 15 mm de largura x 30 mm de diâmetro externo e rolamentos de haste de 12 mm x 16 mm com 14 mm de largura. Então você tem o fato de ser bem feito como uma porcaria na China lol! Para ser justo! minha compilação ms460! tem rolamentos ceramic nele completos sem gastar 400 $ apenas rolamentos na minha construção de 54 mm. ainda classificado apenas para 7500 rpms. Então, se você entende o que quero dizer. mesmo uma configuração minúscula de yd100 a 7k vai explodir esses rolamentos, não importa um de ponta superior com tubo de câmara fazendo 10k lol Os brinquedos ficam caros muito rápido se você quiser brincar!

No. Has to be metal. Combustion heat will burn it. If your hard up! Need quick fix. Use a soda can and a razor knife on a block of wood

@@BuildBreakFix yea cause the stock gasket is thick and it might screw the squish gap , previously i ran a soda can gasket but it was leaking

So 2 bearings for a clutch shaft is normal?

I hate those factory nuts for the head. I always get regular ones at the hardware store and I'd like to see how many extra parts you have sitting around lol I'm starting to get a little collection

Lol well for heads and jugs that are bad! I melt all of them down into bars. Carbs cranks random parts probably 9 large 30 gallon tubs worth. lol. I think I have 28 complete engines as well

@@BuildBreakFix everytime I buy a new engine I get the whole kit but I only need the engine so I got a collection of everything else but it's nice I have the extra. I'm still not sure about adding a windowed piston and reed valve to my zeda 80 when it's broken in which won't be long it's going to be in the 60s this week. I have a ported cylinder to install so why it's apart now would be the time to do it

@@BuildBreakFix my engine is just about broke in but we got some more cold weather but when it is done and I install everything including my ported cylinder do you think I should add a windowed piston and reed valve? And since it's only a 66/80cc do you think the NT carburetor is enough? I have jets that range up to 90 and the biggest I've ever used is a 75-78 so if I add the windowed piston and reed valve I still have a lot bigger jets if I need them

Way over sized for an 80cc the carb*. You take the piston size. In your case 47mm and divide 47 into 2/5. Comes to 18.8 round that number up. 19. You can + it - 1mm to that number. So 18-20mm carb works. @24 mm you actually are losing Venturi effect which will not run the card correctly. Smallest jet made for vm24 is for a 90cc largest is for 135cc for a (24mm carb) hope that helps some!

Possible to use a bushing to replace the lower bearing?

I notice on some engines the bevel gear sits flush with the clutch and some it sticks out a bit is this normal and if so why

Honestly I think it's just Really poor chinese parts and for the most part it won't really matter much! They tend to work just fine even though not perfectly flush with one another. Higher end build like minarelli or saw build. I would try get them aligned a bit more less wear! stock kits even with mass upgrades are all under 3hp and it honestly won't hurt anything! It is not actually the Bevel gear or even Crank shaft! It is the "Clutch shaft"! That is different lengths 99.9% time cranks and bevel gears are almost always cut the same dimensions! some Clutch shafts are longer than others after they pass through crankcase bearings so the clutch sits lower or further from the cank case making the two not align!

Did you mean m14 1.5 threads for the magnet nut?

Magnet nuts are 8m x 1mm tread pitch. Some use a 14mm or 13mm socket. Depends on if its pk80 or yd100 bottom end. Yd100 use 8m x 1mm pitch nut 14mm socket size. Pk80 uses 8m x 1mm pitch 13mm socket size. 1mm pitch is to prevent stripping for 8mm size torque specs. Like in imperial. 1/4 20 may hold up to 20ftlbs. 1/4 28 can hold 35 ftlbs. Then up material grade and get even more.

#1 best selling book you know 2023 years and counting. You need to follow his ways. You need to follow the path not just say you believe in something you don't follow in daily life. You shouldn't need to come to Jesus. As you should already be alongside him and his teachings. I find people only kneel and pray when they only ask the Lord for a favor.
