I've got to give the shotbolt a try again. I tried them a long time ago and felt like they were just normal arrows with more drop. Loved the breakdown in the intro, thank you!

If you line up the top of the actual yellow bolt with the waist of an enemy hunter in ads, it lands a OHKO from point blank to ~45m before you need to start aiming higher (line up with shoulders, etc). Still has slow velocity of course, but arc wise isn't an issue for me until about 50m

I felt the exact same way but the other night I dug in deep and tried some longer range shots and HOOOOOOOLLLYYY its nuts. If you figure out that long range shot you can perfectly shotgun shot someone who peaks like 20 to 30 meters away, pretty fun if you can figure the arc out

My favorite part about hunt is that the cheap weapons are still really good. Crossbow, bow, winfield C, nagant p, romero, scottfield P, lemat carbine are my favorites.

shot bolt can be used as a sound decoy, too! fire it at an angle into other compounds and you can make it sound like you're somewhere else, which can give you positional advantage in some situations :3

Fact: With Bolt Thrower trait, crossbow reloads faster than a romero and it has a longer 1-tap range.

Wow you did not sugarcoat it with that last trio. The shot bolt's drop has always intimidated me out of using it, so I've usually gone with explosive bolts to be an agent of chaos instead. You've convinced me to try and learn them though!

Explosive and shotbolt have similar drop, so it might not be as bad as you think!

A tip might be to do a little rundown of the traits, tools amd consumables you went with for this particular run, just for the newer guys that might appreciate it.

I always pair my crossbow with something relatively fast firing like a spitfire or pax fanning, preferably a uppercut precision cause it covers the crossie's weaknesses reletively well

It's not always the first weapon to come to mind, but I can't remember any time I've played with a crossbow where I regretted bringing a crossbow. It's such a solid weapon!

Just today I got 2 1v3 wins with the crossbow while my teammates were downed. Its a wonderful weapon.

I honestly love the crossbow especialy with shotbolts and play it pretty regular, its a really fun weapon !

Im definitely in the camp that doesnt routinely take a crossbow as a main weapon. I'll often use the hand version but mostly for the utility it provides. When I see it pop up in the weekly challenges my heart sinks a little but then i find i do good with it, which i put down to being super cautious and careful. The shot bolts are superb but the ammo count being low and loss of the bolt puts me off (no less or more so than having to use shotty slugs having said that).

Oh no! Don't let people know that the best shotgun is actually the shotbolt, and its the cheapest! They'll nerf it! Jk, great vid!

I’m pretty sure the Shotbolt doesn’t kill if you hit limbs (assuming you didn’t hit the side and pen to the body)? Am I wrong about that? Great video!

Regular bolts won’t kill with limb shots, but shotbolt will kill regardless of where hits. The only reason I got a couple hitmarkers in this video was because I either hit a wall or the ground right in front of my target, and the shotgun blast just clipped them instead of making full contact

Aria is right here. If you see a limb hit that didn't kill in the damage summary it means your shot was close enough to their body that they received aoe damage, but it wasn't a direct hit.
