Match would have literaly been cleaner without that crossbow. Most Times racha got hit was when he double peeked after missing with a bolt and fixed it with uppercut. 😅😅 Next Time only buy crossbow maybe? It would force him to aim more carefully when there is no pistol to fix things with.

In the next episode... "would you believe that double fists are the best weapon in the game?" watch and see him take out whole lobbies without any guns

1/2 shotbolt, 1/2 normal bolt for me. Being able to replenish ammo from picking used bolts is nice, plus regular bolts do a ton of dmg vs bosses yet are still great for pvp.

Unless you go for longish range kills or for wallbangs, I don't even really see the point of the shotbolt. Regular bolts do the same thing except when you're unlucky enough to hit the arm. And they're silent

I preffer half normal + half explosive, for high-enough one shot range potential and breaching doors in lairs and get some splash damage for my teammates. Nice videos! Shoutouts from EvilDogma!

I like to run normal bolts usually on cross bow, feels like a nice slug, with increased 1 tap range at the cost of Muzzle Velocity

hand down my most played and favorite loadout is shotbolt with uppercut or new army fmj. my favorite moments are when you're trying to wallbang jumping and repositioning around a boss lair as a solo and the enemy team starts voiping saying "wtf are you shooting us with?" a lot of ppl dont even know what the shoitbolt is or what it sounds like so they're just perplexed when they're getting wallbanged by this strange sound.

Been playing shotbolt quite a lot for a couple of weeks now. It's actually so strong once you get decent with it. People also tend to under estimate it. They hear a crossbow being fired if you miss and push you. Then they just get 1 tapped. Even got a double kill with a single bolt once, since it can pen players like spitzer

I love the shotbolt but I've been using it less in recent months, since it feels really inconsistent some days. One day it'll work great, the next I'll shoot someone in the back on the ladder, get a hit marker, and itll blast the bullets into the wall through them because it spawned them past their chest. Or I'll hit someone dead-on and get all arm shots.(Which is more of a me issue, but with central blood splatter it feels like being cheated a kill!) -- That said, It's still very fun to use and my favorite ammo type.

11:58 this happens to me sometimes, for some reason when I make a quick turn with my mouse the camera spins at lightspeed and I lose track of where I am, I guess it's a bug related to mouse acceleration or something, it's really annoying.

I'll always go with normal bolt and shotbolt. Normal Bolt for range, since I don't have the skill to work with the high drop of shotbolt. And shotbolt for wall penetration

I like shotbolt for wallbangs but use normal bolts in the other slot for silent kills

I normally play my Crossbow with both Sjotbolt and Explosive, with sparks Pistol for range

I've seen a video of someone mastering the explosive bolt and it was glorious

The shotbolt is just so good. The only time I haven't one-tapped somebody was through a wall. Armshot, headshot, doesn't matter with a shotbolt!

​@@atumalaka4835Yes but unless you are prestige 100 or dont prestige, good luck unlocking that thing in first place. I think that balance it up. Plus its no stealth weapon you can hear its shotbolt if in same compound. Its like vetterli silencer. Take ages to unlock but once you got it its really fun

I feel normal bolt is more consistent because even if you a little off with your aim the bleed applies a lot of pressure

Split shotbolt with explosive bolt and an ammo box is easily the best crossbow build in the game, no real reason to do anything else on it I feel. The dual-ammo rearm from the ammo box and the versatility of switching to shotbolt or explosive depending on the scenario is really valuable. It's also really good on low-trait hunters since you can very trivially kill meatheads to pick-up traits for easy points.

They should honestly make the wood penetration of shotbolt better, there's been times where I'd wall bang someone THREE times thru a wall at like 10m range (while they're hugging the wall), and I wouldn't get the kill not even after 3 bolts :(

Remember an argument I had with a lad claiming the crossbow was the worst weapon in the game(unironic). Despite it having a fairly long one-shot range with regular bolts and a good reload with bolt thrower. Without it it's like a silenced romero. Adding in ammo types it goes from being a silenced romero to a beast of a weapon.

Crossbow has high skill ceiling, but it isn't practical. Why would I take a slow muzzle velocity with a finite range, adjust for drop and movement, and have 1 shot, when I could just take mozin spitzer and headshot at 200m?

Its the higher drop off at range probablt giving you leg shots. But normal bolt doesnt 1 shot to chest past a certain fairly close range

Shotbolt is definitely the best ammo for xbow. Infinite oneshot range. You just have to learn the drop, if you think regular bolts oneshot more often, that's your problem, aim higher. Both of the others are fun but they just don't have as many benefits.

Back in the day I swore by shotbolt as a 1 shot nitro. It was nerfed in pellet spread at some point and rarely 1 taps now even if it double tap hits arm and body point blank. Explosive all the way for now.

I really like the crossbow, but I hate the explosive crossbow with a passion. It literally takes like 0 skill to hit people with it. You just have shoot an explosive bolt Like 0.5m at the enemies feet and they blow up. Shot Bolt and regular bolts are way more skillfull than the explosive bolts. I'm not even mad, if I'm becoming killed by normal bolts or shot bolts. The best bolts are the OG regular bolts in my opinion. By the way I'm speaking from a console point view, where people are most likeley to use freaking explosive bolts. Not gonna lie 8/10 crossbows you encounter on console it's an explosive crossbow. The Explosive crossbow should not be in the console version at all. It's the most annoying custom Ammo type from the crossbow to fight against. Because you don't even hear a fuse going of, you just that rather silent shot and the boom. Either you Blow up or you barely survive. But since I know Crytek will Not fix the issue, by taking the explosive bolts out of the console version, my Idea for balancing the explosive bolts is to add a lighting animation before the explosive bolt is actually shot. But hopes that an lighting animation for the explosive bolts is actually coded into the game are low.

With its slow velocity I'd say it's more of an infinite luck ceiling

Exactly, its totally bullshit to claim this is the best weapon in the game, he just makes shit up for clickbait, well he did not put what he said in the video in the title "best weapon in the game" he literally said that. Hornet is worse, if you look at his video title, basically every single weapon in the game is "the best" at some point if you would take his titles seriously. You can have all the skill in the world and have good prediction but if they change direction or move unexpected on longer ranges you just miss with this slow AF velocity, reload sucks because its slow AF while slug guys can just spam and good players can just headshot everyone like he did in the video with a actual gun.

You didn’t get the entire point. You can get good at aiming with slow velocity, no one said it’s possible to hit every shot. If you feel like shotbolt is all luck you need to actually try to learn it :)

The difference between basically ANY other weapon is you have multiple shots and if you have aim you just kill people with it as you can see him do in the video with the uppercut and the derringer penny in the video. And NOT with the crossbow, and nobody claimed that anyone said you can hit every shot with it, the irony is with any decent weapon you actually CAN hit every shot, again as he demonstrates in the video when he repeatably takes the uppercut and hits one headshot after another. This is impossible with the CB so this "skill ceiling" is just complete bullshit as its physically not possible and even if you get the arc right on longer ranges they just have to change direction and your arrow is so slow that it will miss and THAT is what OP means with "luck ceiling". Its BS to claim its all about skill ceiling with this shit slow speed and shot range shotguns are so much better, you get no pen so even 1 shot Romero is better not to mention that the Alamo exist where you do not have the super annoying long reload for cheap, I mean I never use it but I know its still better then the CB for short range. The CB has a sweetspot range and has the advantage that they do not hear where the shot is coming from and hear the explosion next to them. I never said it a bad weapon is just a niche weapon and in no was "the best weapon in the game." These streamers come up with BS like that for content because they can not come up with anything else. As I said in another comment. Hornets titles are even more ridiculous, like every single weapon was "the best" weapon at some point if you read his titles.

I love the Xbow, all varieties. However, to pretend that it is better overall to the nitro express is totally disingenuous in my opinion. Buuuuut the skill ceiling is super high and I love it for that

Its just factually untrue. The speed of the arrows is too slow to be "the best weapon in the game". Even if you are perfect at predicting where they go, if they change direction in longer ranges there you will miss no matter how skilled you are. Also reload speed sucks so its shitty short rage as well compared to shotguns. The shotbolt has a range sweetspot comparable to slugs probably. You also can not pen with it, you can kill people behind walls but as soon as they keep their distance from walls slugs is better for pen and you have multiple fast shots with a lot of shotguns. Your videos pretty much proves it, how many people you kill with uppercut, often when when your bow is reloaded, yes you can get better with it but to claim its the best weapon in the game is just bullsh1t. You kill like most people with uppercut for a reason, and its not just because your bow skill "sucks so much". Ahh and ammo reserve also sucks for the bow now.

I'd disagree and point to the bow. Bow has the highest skill ceiling in the game, though I'd give crossbow second place.

At least with a bow you can miss and get a follow up, yes it requires a bit of extra skill so you aren't caught without it being pulled back But if you miss with a crossbow you need to kill with secondary or run away to reload So with crossbow you need to be good with it and your secondary while you can technically just use only the bow

As a long time now player I would have to disagree, the crossbow has more punishment than the bow with a longer reload and not as much utility as the bow if you use double shot bolt along with major drop off while the bow has minimal in compounds and always surprises me how accurate it is.

Personally I prefer the free movement you get with crossbow and hate when my bow doesn't OHK when close range, but hey, bow has infinite headshot range and less drop so it could be mastered as well 👀

Explosive ammo are just for people who has no aim and shoot the ground. Brainless gameplay with explosives.

Garbage weapon, only useful in shotgun range and even then, it's better to play Terminus or Crown instead.
