In this video, I'll show you how to needlepoint using the continental stitch. This is my absolute favorite stitch and because of that I've come up with a trick that helps me stitch it much faster. This video will show you my secret.
The continental stitch is the most versatile of the tent stitches and the one I use the most often.
When to use it:
This stitch is perfect for soft goods or small to medium areas that won't see a ton of wear and tear. It is a medium coverage stitch. I use it on every single canvas I stitch, along with the other tent stitches (half-cross and basketweave).

Thank you for your comment! While continental and half cross stitches may look similar, they differ in technique and results. Continental provides higher coverage and a different appearance on the back, making it a strong choice for solid areas. Half cross stitch is generally lighter and less robust. If you have more questions, feel free to ask. Happy stitching!
