I wish there were more vids like this - well done for breaking out of the brand new bikes rut. I personally always look for bikes at about 5 years old - you can get so much more for your money and avoid the surprisingly common problems that new bikes can have.

An extra £1000 would be a complete game-changer in bike selection. Of the ones you looked at, the Honda CB1300 would be my choice, with its massive, understressed engine.

CB1300 is a gem.. its a shame that the new ones are not available outside of Japan. Ive had a privilege to own a `17 CB100Rs and loved it, the 1300 must be an awesome muscle too.

I had a 2008 CB1300s for 4 years and 18000 miles it was a fantastic machine, beautifully finished, masses of tourque, still miss it but it got a bit too heavy for me to push around in the garage, only other bike I've had with similar oomph in any gear was a Suzuki Gsxs1000fa

I think a lot of people want to see more reviews and vids on S/H bikes. Well done you and Super Bike Shop for letting you ride their stock. Hope to see a lot more of this stuff. TMF, also, has started putting out Super Bike Shop videos. Yesterday, I bought A Kawasaki W650 for well under 5K ( in fact well under 4K ) which is in immaculate condition. A 'labour of love' as my brother in law put it. So, they are out there, people. I would have gone for the Bonnie out of these three.

The 270 twin Bonne and Yamaha which is a conversion which requires splitting the crank, rotating one cylinder forward 90 degrees and putting a pin in and press it back together with 10,000 PSI. I did an XS 650 with a set of 700 jugs and split the crank and set it up with the stock pin for 277/83 timing.

Maybe some Superbikes of say the 90’s, when they were in my humble opinion at the top of the game would be great to see and even better for younger riders to hear that they (from racing lap times perspectives), not as far away from the modern litre bikes of today. 👍😎🇦🇺

I browsed their site a bit. That Triumph is a gem. But I would likely go for one of the shaft driven, v-twin Hondas that are well within budget. A round headlight Honda CB300R or CB125R is also a fun modern-retro standard. But such a pity they don't have any Suzuki TU250s in stock. Absolute gem of an affordable, air-cooled, UJM single.

Well done! So it doesn't matter what it looks like and performs?..it's a Harley! Surely mr Bob! Anyroad, out of these three...only the Bonnie! With that bulletproof engine. I had a Speedmaster with the 865cc engine and during my 96000km I did nothing. Not even adjusted the valves. Checked them, but no adjustment needed. The new owner bought it in -15 and still rides it. Good idea with this "used-bike-check". Do some more! Thank you mr Bob!

I have done some more digging reference the admin fee and this is what I found: “The only situation in which the supplier can request the additional money is if the correct price had been discussed with the customer before the purchase. If a customer is charged more for a product than what was advertised, they are entitled to ask to be refunded the price difference”. So it’s a grey area but I am taking legal advice to see if this is an illegal practice. Will report back when I have a legal precedent which I’m sure there must be.

Interesting video, but I have a Street Rod 750, and that isn't one (although the spec on screen looked correct). It is a Street 750, which has less power, worse brakes and suspension, and reportedly worse build quality than the Street Rod. The ergonomics are very different between the two - the Street Rod is more sporty (less comfortable) and a little weird in its foot position, although I've got used to it. The Street Rod has drag bars and bar-end mirrors which look great but make the bike quite wide. The Street was around longer and it is easier to find accessories; there is very little for the Street Rod apart from exhausts. I really like my Street Rod, and I reckon at under 5k would be a good deal, but I do like the look of that Bonneville.
