Alpha Gaming has grew so much in such little time. Its crazy i remember in the old days when Harris had 50k subs. It makes me happy to see this growth.
a minor factor why i went with quad cast a year ago was the added value of built in shock mount and pop filter. coming from a blue yeti with the factory issue of standard shock mounts not fitting, the hyperx quadcast coming with it built in was a blessing. plus shock mounts go for about $20-40, and a pop filter is about $10, so the mic itself is around $90-100. the convenience of having it all in one already and not having to making sure your parts are compatible is a big plus.
I just purchased the standard Yeti Blue about one month ago because I don't read directions I was unaware that it is customizable. I already love it after watching this video I love it even more. you guys appear to have a great time making this vid... great job!!!
13:46 I just caught something with the functionality table. Harris’s scores for the Yeti and the Wave are flipped.
Rode NT-USB of course is the best USB mic. The most clean and deep sound u can reach in usb segment, no difference with mid-budget XLR in close look.

The nt-usb and nt-usb mini deserve a looking at
honestly was waiting for this video, I recently just purchased my first ever XLR microphone (rode NT1) But I'm super excited to see all the new USB mics that are out and coming out.
Hahaha I was waiting for the happy listening! Thanks guys, you confirmed me that I will make a good choice with the Wave.
Very good video. I couldn’t really tell that much of a difference on audio but beyond that the wave and yeti have really good software. I have an xlr so would you recommend getting a better interface like the goxlr/goxlr mini to have more control or would you say usb mics are starting to become a better option with the software they include?
Ratings: Ryan - #/5 Sound - Yeti = 3, Quad = 4, Wave = 3.5, Razor = 3 Build/Aesthetics - Yeti = 4, Quad = 5, Wave = 4, Razer = 3 Function - Yeti = 5, Quad = 3, Wave = 5, Razer = 0 Value - Yeti = 2.5, Quad = 2.5, Wave = 5, Razer = 4 Harris - #/10 Sound - Yeti = 7, Quad = 7, Wave = 9, Razer = 8 Build/Aestheics - Yeti = 9, Quad = 9, Wave = 5, Razer = 4 Function - Yeti = 6, Quad = 3, Wave = 8, Razer = 1 Value - Yeti = 4, Quad = 6, Wave = 8, Razer = 8
Feel like i made the right choice with the wave 1. Which I found through you! Appreciate all the info man... You the real MVP! As someone that's new to all of this and just starting a stream/gaming channel, it really does help a lot.

Hahaha, loved how Sam drew my attention to the mic, when I was just focused on the content at hand. Suddenly I was like when will Harris and Senpai notice the hanging mic 😂
Literally was looking for mics today lol, thanks Harris!
Good, fun vid - thanks guys. Bought the Wave 1 a couple of months ago, so glad you still think it is best value!!
Feeling good about my wave 3...love this mic!
I finally got a Blue Yeti Blackout edition yesterday (kept putting it off because I have so many mics already) and I have to say this is by far the best money I ever spent on a microphone. I'm honestly blown away by the quality of the build and the quality of the sound.
I was just looking at mics this week so this video is perfect
Love your videos. They are all so helpful and in-depth. Thanks.
The razer one just chilling there with the price tag flex
Hyper X quad cast S it’s so cool looking aesthetically but the wave link one does so much more in software and it just sounds better I’m really torn which one do you think I should get

Love the video! I would say if you would of added up all the value per Mic then divided by the categories we would of had the average score to see the clear winner! Would of been cool to see at end but Really enjoyed the video and thank you! :D

Lmao I love how u used the "linus move" for ur sponsor
Super excited for my Wave:1 to arrive mainly for the software feature he mentioned in a previous video!
was waiting for this thanks!
Great video as I’m looking to buy my first microphone and this helped me A LOT. Although - I find it very confusing that you’re not using the same rating scales when giving the scores. It would be much appreciated if you both use a scale of 1-10, it would greatly improve your videos!!
0:00 Hey remember when we release this video about USB microphones and then ended up being one of the most viewed * coughs * helpful videos
I was waiting for this to come out
Literally just rewatched that original video this morning, talk about perfect timing.
"its so expensive idk who this mic would be for" - paraphrasing *shroud breathing heavily*
As someone who has the regular Yeti X, I absolutely love the software. I tend to have hard "S"es so the de-esser is a godsend for me. That and the controls built into the mic itself and being able to change it on the fly is much appreciated rather than having to go into the software to change my gain, volume or balance between game audio or mic audio.
How I've only just discovered you now I don't know, but I'm glad I did. Keep it up man your content is awesome.
Amazing video! Thanks for the info! By the way, on the time 13:56+- the functionality scores of wave and yeti for Harris are swap. :)

Firstly, I LOVE these comparison videos, they're perfect. However, it would be helpful to hear all of these comparisons with a female voice. Obviously, I have less of a deep voice than you males and I'm finding it hard to figure out which would work best for my voice type. Do you possibly have a suggestion based loosely on the average female voice?
Thank you!!! I actually watch the old video yesterday because I’m looking at a new USB mic
I watched a bunch of your audio videos, and they were the reason I bough a Wave. The fact that you still picked it against the new ones, makes me so happy with my purchase ngl LUL

Even comparing the audio from the mics side by side, one after another, the difference is negligible. It's hard to imagine anyone tuning into a stream is going to notice or care about that difference. The fact that one of these is $50 and the others are all over $100 is crazy! It’s not really the audio quality that matters (cause at this point audio quality is just personal preference), it’s how much background sound the mics pick up. The Blue Yeti by farrr picks up the least amount of background sound, than the Razer is next while the Hyper X and Wave:1 r tied at last. While your talking (if it’s a podcast, a video, streaming, or even just talking to people in games, nobody wants to hear background sounds when ur talking.

How’d it go?
Thanks for the videos, they are extremely helpful. Im currently in the market to purchase a mic and still deciding, Quadcast, Yeti, or go the xlr route and do the Blue Ember. One thing I noticed is that the included shock mount on the Quadcast wasn't discussed in detail in either mic videos as far as an included cost / accessory. Im looking at the Blue Yeti, and its an extra $50 to buy the radius shock mount, making the cost of the mic $170. Maybe I'm putting way too much though in this, but I was tallying up total cost to get mic setup and ready to use. Does the included shock mount increase the value of the quadcast any? Once again thanks for all you do, its extremely helpful to a newcomers like myself.

What kind of USB microphone should I use if I have a wipe board behind me and get up to draw on it during web meetings? Would a shotgun mic be better? Or a cordless lavalier? I have noise from above my head and occasionally from elsewhere in the room so I want a mic that is directional with a narrow cone in which it picks up sound (eg I want my keyboard to be outside the cone so people can't hear me type when I'm in a meeting, but my mouth should be inside the cone whether I'm seated near to my computer or standing at the wipeboard). Thanks.

Razer is certianly the worst of the bunch... but that pink tho! 😉 Out of this bunch I liked the Elgato best although it's a little sibilant so get that de-esser out. Wave also wins on quality/asthetics for me too as I'd prefer a small form mic that doesn't stand out while I'm streaming. Wave 3 is also cool but you're paying for a higher bit and sample rate along with the tap to mute button on the top so Wave 1 is probably a better deal for most streamers. EQ in OBS is absolutely the way to go or throw in a plugin like iZotope Neutron as a VST filter in OBS and get the best EQ and compression possible. If you're not using OBS you can also use plugins in real time to make these mics sound better via Audio Hijack (Mac) or Voicemeeter Banana (PC). Nice video Harris and Ryan and absolute coincidence we release a video like this at exactly the same time 🎙😁

i did a blind test and liked the elegato on the blue shirt-guys voice as my top first pick, second being the razer all the other microphones seem to have sharp whines when a loud syllable or vowel is pronounced, whereas the razer seemed to dull out most of the sound albiet still being good quality, and thus it sounded as one of the smoothest to my ears. for me, the other microphones remind me of one of those sound graphs that spike really high in the red zone whenever your volume is too loud/ reaching the max ceiling
I always count on this guy for the reviewssss
