HyperX Quadcast S USB Microphone Review (vs Blue Yeti & Rode NT-USB Mini)
Ғылым және технология
This is my full review and test of the HyperX Quadcast S condenser microphone. This is an RGB USB microphone that works with PC, Mac, and many applications for gaming and live streaming. In this review, I will compare the HyperX Quadcast S against the Blue Yeti and the Rode NT-USB Mini microphones. This HyperX Quadcast S is great for gamers, live streaming, podcasting, and voice-over applications.

Great review. You convinced me (and this is after me watching like 10 reviews prior to yours).
What a fantastic in-depth review man! You called me out, I love the Blue Yeti's sound, and think the software is superior, but it would look completely displaced from my modern rgb setup. :D I think Hyper X sounds very raw and natural without any post processing. Going to keep an eye out for boxing day sales :) !
Amazing Review! After a few too many hours of figuring out which to get, decision landed on this one. Sounds absolutely amazing and this review shows just how potent this mic is.
So much details thank you so much!

Hey man! thx for the great review... I ran out and got one of these two days ago. Best Buy had it on sale for $30 off for 4th of July so it was like $130, not a bad deal, and I'm loving this mic so far. (I needed one badly.) Thank you

Hi! Does this mic work plugged into a USB hub for a MacBook air m1 with no dedicated USB port?
I've had this mic since 2019 when they came out, they've gotten down to about $120 USD from the $200 they were at. I've definitely found that with a pop filter it sounds amazing without any further adjustments. I love this thing and they really are slept on nowadays. I'll also attest to the customizability with some software. If you really want to take your sound into your own hands then with it being so sensitive and recording such a large frequency range, the sky is basically the limit for customization. I've gotten mine to sound almost indistinguishable to an SM7B for less than half the price and some work.

@warlight96
8 ай бұрын
Sorry, I didn't see the first reply asking for my settings. RIP. But if you're not looking to spend more money than on the mic, then there's lots of free EQ apps such as Equalizer APO. I used to use it but since have upgraded to a goxlr and dynamic mic setup. Settings are difficult. For most people, the "Cali smile" setup is usually fine, but if you want, the bass and broadcast sound crank up low and mid-tones. Around freq's of 900hz and lower. Make sure to listen to your voice while doing it so you don't over EQ your voice and sound muddy and gross.
@warlight96
8 ай бұрын
@MellyVilleYT EQ APO also has a plug-in for voice visualization so you can see exactly what frequencies your voice sits in the most. I never messed with that, so you'll need to look up a video on it.

Hi, I've just bought this it's great but only let down is when plugged into my Samsung galaxy s20fe I can't monitor my voice through the headphones, but it records my voice fine. What can I do to resolve this please?
hey i was wondering if the tonor mic arm can hold the hyperx quadcast s sideways like that little mic at the top
Just got mine yesterday and the only issue I have with this mic is that the cardioid setting feels reverted, meaning I'd much rather have the unidirectional on the back, not on the front where the logo is. Doing so, HyperX failed to promote itself since the viewer always looks at the backside of the mic which is kinda' stupid. I mean, I know what mic I have, I don't need to see the HyperX logo pointed at me all the time and I'd much rather have the settings knob towards me. Btw, is there any way to fix this so the cardioid option be activated at the mic's backside where the settings knob is located?
I’ve had my QuadCast now for 2 months, I use it on my PS5 & it sounds great
I would've like to see a comparison with better mic positioning. In my use case I want a smaller microphone and would be perfectly fine with lets say the NT mini in everyday use (meetings, gaming…) as long as I can properly position it when actually wanting to record something. But thank you for providing a high quality comparison nonetheless. IMO the hyper X sounds the best in this comparison after adding a deesser effect to my playback audio effects.

Nope, it's just a USB microphone. It will be the audio interface to the computer.
I’ve tired both mics and I liked the HyperX Quadcast S better than the blue yeti. 1st of all at the time when I bought it was only $120 ( now back at original as of today). 2nd blu software crashes constantly hyperx is stable 3. Sound quality is a little better on the hyperx to me 4. It comes with a shock mount and pop filter (an easy $60-70 upgrade on the blu mic assuming you buy from them the shock mount for $50 and pop filter $10-20 depending on price). Another tip is to add the Nvidia Broadcast software as it really shines more with this mic than the blue yeti.
LETS GOOOOO I AM GETTING T TODAY
The Blue Yeti clearly offers a higher quality sound profile. The noise floor is so much better and the low to mid range sounds more full on the Yeti over the Quadcast IMO. Good video though bro. 🤙

In what way? I covered my thoughts at the end :)
I’ve bought both the HyperX Quadcast S and the Blue Yeti X (the World of Warcraft version) and tried both to know which one I would like more. I prefer the HyperX so I am using that one I love the tap to mute, I prefer the look of it, I like that it has a built in shock mount, and I like that it has built in windscreen (I bought the PEMOTech for it which is an actual pop filter) I couldn’t tell the difference in sound quality. But I don’t find that comparison between the 2 to be too important for since they were bought for casual purposes like voice chat. Only comparison importance I find is the sound quality compared to headsets microphones
