I like the echo black diamond 105. I can make it through an entire trimming session with out taping the head once it's that strong. I just trim a little the I lift the head and look at it It stays at the same length with out fraying👍

Thanks for the upload man. I'm going back into mowing after 30 years. Post retirement and just bumping the income. I been out of touch with the market! There's so many to pick from. Back in the day there were like 2 brands, Stihl and Echo lol.

Can’t go wrong with the black diamond .105. That is our go to trimmer line!

Just putting it out there you can buy either one of those lines in different size diameters and spools. That lime green string is called x line. Stihl makes other types of line as well such as round, square, pentagon, X, quiet, and twisted.

I use the Stihl .095 round green commercial line 3lb. I work full time as Cemetery groundskeeper and also cut and maintenance a handful of lawns on the side. At work we tend to lean towards the .105 round line cause it tends to lasts a bit longer trimming around concrete and granite monuments and grass markers. I just stick with .095 round when I do my residential lawns cause it’s a medium duty line and lasts long enough to do what I need it to I don’t really have any rough objects or hard surfaces to trim around just regular bi weekly lawn maintenance so .095 works just fine.

I use the .095 echo. It does disappear pretty quick when it hits pavers or cement. Otherwise, I like the echo. I want to go bigger too.

We use Echo .155 and Stihl FS111rx weedeaters. Less frequent trimmer line changeouts.

I use the Echo Black Diamond .105 as well as the Rotary Vortex .095 and i like them both. Personally i haven't tried any Stihl trimmer line but might give it a try some day.

black diamond all day. 95 cuts like butter, especially on a higher cc engine. even some thicker stuff. maybe i'll get a sample of 105 from my main dealer and see what i think of it, but i'm all about that 95. some other lines last longer ( and they also wobble and don't cut as well 🤣 ), but any string lasts longer when you cut with the tip of the cutting swath, rather than pressing it into edges, fences, retaining walls, etc, otherwise string disappears as fast as you can bump it. i have no complaints about how long it lasts. 3 lbs of 95 bd lasts me over a season, and i run full time solo ( actually _overtime,_ but that's another matter 😂 ).

I've had good luck with husqvarna trimmer line in Oklahoma! Some people I've talked to in other states s as y the opposite.. not sure why..

try Oregon gator line its better then both of them iv used every line there is and the gatorline is cheaper then both

I use line 0.95 2.4mm diamond edge very similar to stihl brand. And tall grass edging it stands up to everything using a stihl fs94rc Cheers

.155 Is my favourite don't use everything else

Stihl X line can't compete with Echo Black Diamond, it's a night and day difference. Stihl Pro CF3 line would be a much better match for the Echo line. I have been using the Stihl pro line for a while and love it. I recently bought a small spool of the Husqvarna Titanium Pro line since I saw so many positive reviews but it frays badly for me which is something I was not accustom to with the Stihl line. Like you stated the line must fit the job, and opinions are like a**holes, everyone has one. Thanks for the video!
