I run the Husqvarna XP Pro, I have a Shindaiwa T302X 1.8 hp that I cut with. Run it wide open from the start till I run out of gas so I can time study when I want to. The XP Pro cutting 6 inches to 2ft 6-inch weeds I get about 1 hour 20 minutes run time, with other lines I only get about 1 hour to 1 hour and 5 minutes run time. Also don't get the vibration out of the XP Pro that I get from most other lines{twist, square, and other lines in general. The extra run time per tank may not seem like a lot but it adds up to $ over the course of a day or week. It cuts great for me.

@@ProjectFarm Should have tested: Bump feed reliability, ease and speed of reloading the line, cutting performance/durability when used to cut plants, not foam tubes, stretch tests and belt sanders. Too much lab testing, not enough real world testing. I bought the twisted line for my landscaping business, in reality the stuff is terrible. The twisted design makes it really annoying to reload, would not bump feed as reliably as conventional line, the ends constantly fray leaving it with terrible cutting performance. I threw it away only half way through the packet as the performance was too low, gone back to the cheap regular stuff - much better.

Well that's a good idea I have ordered filter from I think filter. Com. Well my problem has been that when you can connect them sometimes no water will come out. And you can try to put them in and pull them out put them in pull them out and still nothing so you have to send them back. But one thing about the water filters, is the fact that your refrigerator has a built in computer program and after so much water goes through it comes up with a light on that says change your filter. But you can easily just mash the reset button whether or not you have changed the filter or not and it will go on another amount Of time or amount of use and tell you to change it again. I sure do get tired of having the refrigerator change filter light come on and then put in faulty filters.

Bought a Stihl fs56 yesterday and used the line it came with. That line kept breaking into smaller and smaller lengths, also it kept freezing in the head - trimmer line weld. I saw this test and review and bought Husqvarna line today. I like it! It cuts well, didn't keep getting smaller by the second of use, and I didn't get trimmer line weld inside the head with it (I must have taken the reel out and re-wound the line half a dozen times in a day's use with the line it came with). The Stihl runs like a charm with one of your top rated lines. Thank you for your excellent work reviewing trimmer lines!!! It has helped me, and I'm confident it will help others.

You made an interesting statement near the end of the video talking about the trimmer along the fence line! 2 things I learned over the years if you weed whack often you need minimum RPM to cut the next session of weeds or grass which in turn saves the trimmer line which last longer and save gas. Have a 250-foot ditch line I used to cut and have to bring the gas can with me and extra round of string! No I use quarter power I can do the ditch and the whole yard all in one session with no extra gas and no extra line! It's the user that makes the difference!

i long ago started using engine oil to lube. if it can stand up to the heat and friction of an engine and make them run for 300k i know my guns are good to go and protected very well. i use it to clean with also. i quart and you wont have to buy any for years.

These videos really have no right being as entertaining and engaging as they are, you really do an amazing job with them.

Great video! Your creativity in coming up with tests that have high measurement validity is impressive. I used to work clearing drainage ponds using a line trimmer, and we were much tougher on them than anything done in the video. We used square Oregon line because it was soft enough to not throw rocks at ourselves, and the square line reduced the contact surface between lines, reducing welding when the head overheated

How did the RPM measurement in the wire test indicate durability against breakage? Was it a max rpm measurement? Or a measurement of the highest rpm reached before the string broke, which would then show a sudden higher rpm from the short line?

@avengingknight I can agree. I just weed whacked half an acre of desert scrub and I went through a whole package. Every few minutes I'd have to refill, and say what you want about my skills but I've done it a few times and never been so disappointed. What works good for cutting scrub is actual wire.
