Hi Martin, Hi Guys 1st, excuse me for my poor English ! ;-) I'm an "old" biker and drive motorbikes since 1985. The last one (i sold it some months ago) was a BMW K1600GTL which is a VERY good bike with perfect handling. Now i run on a 2020 F3 Ltd. My first impression was this bike was... a real "sausage" on road !!! On "bad roads", with lateral wind, when cornering, when passing others vehicles every situation was really, (really !!!) not comfortable. I must say the OEM shocks have been changed fully new at 0km by BRP with "shock factory" brand (i've got my own opinion about that...). I asked the mechanic from BRP. He told me to try some different settings of pressure from 0.9bar (13 psi) to 1.4bar (20psi). Not better... I tried different settings of damping. Not better... Everything i tried didn't gave me a good result. Then i decided to change the front tires from "Kenda" to "Yokohama Bluearth-GT AE51" 165/55R15 75V (which is easily founded here in France). I inflated them at 2 bars (29psi). (at this point, i have to say i don't have to complain about the rear tire) And you can trust me: i entered in a new world !!!! Even my wife (who drive also the F3 but she's a young time rider and she's really not "a pilot") felt a big (better !) difference. It was a million times better. I was nearly satisfied but the result was not perfect. So finally i decided to change the links and the sway bar with "H & R" brand. And... woaow.... what an improvement ! Now, the F3 in glued on the road. The handling is perfect, he's on a rail !!! In the other parts of the world, i don't know what they say at BRP. But here in France, when you complain about the handling, the answer is ALWAYS the same: "you have to change your shock absorbers with better..." I suppose they say that because they have no solution with the tires (they only sell Kenda !) and no solution with the "BRP chewing gum sway bar and plastic links" (they only have the factory model). But when the shocks have been already changed... they don't give any solution (neither any idea to found a solution)... I think if you want to improve the handling: 1st (1st !!!!): change the sway bar and links 2nd (or may be 3rd): change the tires 3rd (or may be 2nd): change the shocks What do you think about that Martin ? (any other experience will be appreciated !)

Hi Martin, I noticed in some of your videos you run with Kenda for front tires. At BRP they said to me they inflate front tires at 1.4bar instead of 0.9b. What pressure do you have for front (and rear) ? For my own, i've noticed a very good result with Yokohama tires. But i've also increased the pressure drastically (from 1.4b to 2.0b). Do you think some of the "bad sensations" i had was from a too low pressure with Kenda ? In other words, If i'd put 2.0b in Kenda do you think i'd have the same result in handling ?@@MartinTheVlogger

Right on the original tires on the CanAm IS a car tire but horrible tires. defiantly upgrade to Kumho on the rear set to 24psi and Achilles or federal on the front 14 psi. CanAm says no to car tires but the Kenda tire IS a car tire it's just a crappy tire. 45k is what you should be getting if the pressure is set correctly most rider are running more pressure that they should. is the tire are wearing in the center you need to drop the air pressure

Might want to check with your insurance, sadly road tires and bike tires seat differently on the rim, so yes car tires might "work", but they do have a higher chance of coming off and insurance companies check the tires, even if the tires stay on the rim, they still not road legal and i have heard of insurance, rejecting claims for that reason, even when the tires weren't the cause of the accident. Just something to keep in mind.

@@jamesthorne499 I'm not a tire specialist, so i wont pretend to know what that even means. I just know of a case that the persons insurance was rejected due to incorrect tire type for vehicle. Dealer explained to me that the bead of the rim is different to a car tire and that is why car tires are not allowed on a spyder and that their insurance won't even let them take clients machine for a test ride unless the correct tires are on. I would bet that when Can am was looking for a tire manufacturer, no one would works with them, so they made a deal with Kenda and made a custom rim and tire setup so we would be forced to buy from them.

@@db146 That was my point. Your dealer lied to you or was grossly misinformed. The wheels on a Spyder are EXACTLY the same bead type as automotive tires. There has NOT been an incidence of insurance coverage being denied reported or documented on any of the facebook, youtube or Spyderlovers forums for installing proper tires other than Kenda on the Spyder. For motorcycles the discussion may be completely different, but for Spyders, the wheels ARE automotive type and you CAN use tires rated higher than those it comes equipped with from the factory.

@@jamesthorne499 Ok so about an hour of research later, i was unable to find anything that defines the tire bead of any kinda of vehicle as SAE type J, the only SAE type J tire related thing i could find was for "SAE J2452 is a standard defined by the Society of Automotive Engineers to measure the rolling resistance of tires." . As for saying "There has NOT been an incidence of insurance coverage being denied" That is a rather bold thing to be saying, curious how you know of every single insurance claim on earth ? At this point i don't really care about your opinion and your accusations of people lying or being misinformed. I"ll stick to the facts that i know and people should bear in mind that, this happened where i live and might be different in other places. Fact 1. the guy told me his insurance claim was rejected for that reason, just a guy i started talking to while waiting for my spyder service to be done, he doesn't work for them and has no reason to lie to me, 2. later in the conversation the sales rep over heard us and told us that their insurance had informed them about not being allowed to ride any spyder without the appropriate tires and then continued to explain how they are different to car tires. 3. A youtuber who is a can am mechanic basically stated in his video in not as much detail but the same thing as my dealer told me. So believe it or not, i have no intention to risk it after 3 sources have said don't do it.
