If you like Fire Emblem, or strategy games in general, there's a good chance you're gonna LOVE Wargroove. I was genuinely surprised when I saw the majority of people who watch my channel have never heard of Wargroove, and I think a lot of you guys would really like it. Plus with the recent release of Wargroove 2, now is the perfect time to get into the series. Especially since the Genealogy remake could be years away.
Also - I know nobody reads this, but I know it's more like Advance Wars!

I remember getting really hyped about the first game a few years ago. Then I actually played it... Most of my units have no personality, they're bought with money and are completely replaceable (no permadeath tension), and most of all, it's just really, *really* slow. Especially in multiplayer. Matches are very long-term focused, and because of that things are more predictable and often felt to me like a waste of time. I don't think it's a bad game, the production quality is genuinely really high! It just ain't my cup of tea.

There's a little lore you'll be missing out on, but 2 is still very newbie friendly. Plus you can piece together the story of 1 pretty easily from context clues or just a wiki.

Saying Wargroove's aesthetic is peak gba Fire Emblem when it looks much more like Advance Wars is kinda strange. Any similarity to gba FE is probably because Advance Wars was also on the Gameboy Advance, hence its title. Everything about this screams Advance Wars over FE. But that's not a bad thing, and I'll probably check it out.
Okay, but does it have 2-D waifus? We all know that's the real reason anybody plays Fire Emblem. I already own War groove 1, but got sidetracked...
