Its origin story is amazing, taking a terrible tragedy and creating something beautiful out of it. Yes Swing Latino! The same dance company to dance with J Lo at the Super Bowl! We were confused for a while because Candela Dance Company did the routine start the festival but Swing Latino didn’t 🤔

The songs around minute 8:30 remind me of a cumbia but the fast salsa after is a Perez Prado mambo. It was super popular in the 1950 in Mexico and beyond. It is almost double time the speed of salsa. I think it had a completely different dance back then. To me, it's almost like a merengue speed now days. I was in Cali years ago. Glad you all are enjoying!

He ido a Cali ya 3 veces y cada experiencia es diferente, pero lo que no falta es la salsa. Cómo se han dado cuenta by now, Colombia is very diverse culturally, geographically, gastronomy, y mucho más. I love it here and amazing to see y'all back. it likely is, but like any flight, you should find a good deal if you book well in advance. We booked ours like 3 months before and used credit card points to help offset the cost

The reason I could never get a Latina de habla hispana. I didn't know how to dance salsa, meringue, bachata. No dance? No luck, dude! And you need private lessons to really learn. Y'all look like you had fun. Colombia is an epicenter of great musical artists. Juanes, Shakira, Carlos Vives.

good thing there's a solution to that! There are over 200 dance schools in Cali and amazing teachers to learn from 😁 all you need is 4 months! hehe. Easier said than done, I know. Plus it's an amazing workout.

so, we coudn't tell if it was THE same dancers who were at the Super Bowl, and this is what confused us: Candela Dance Company did the super bowl routine at the Salsódromo (what you saw in this video), but the dance company that actually danced AT THE Super Bowl was Swing Latino (whom also appear in this video but they didn't do the routine). We're not sure if Candela Dance Company perhaps also danced in the Super Bowl and perhaps that was why they did the routine at the feria but they were amazing to watch nonetheless! From my research, the explosion was an accident. Military dinamite was being transported in large quantities and went off unintentionally during the transport. The exact cause is unknown, but one theory was a cigarette butt from someone smoking in or around the trucks while they were driving by.
