I saw your video in Texas and also your demo, my shop is in my basement and always had a problem with saw dust. SO I purchased one, I went to there site and also talked with Gus via e mail and got $20 off. Can’t wait to try it out. Hopefully my lungs will be happy now. Thanks for the demo guys.

I’m happy for y’all! You know I’m a fan of dust collection. Sam has mine hooked to a hose and draped over a pivoting tv wall mount. I do hook it to my router but there is absolutely zero drag. You don’t even know it’s there. It’s crazy how it pulls about 90% dust off my project. I then hook it to the sander dust port. It picks up about 80% of that dust. It only slows down on backgrounds.

If we carved inside, it we'd probably use it a lot more. But since we work outside, dad usually just makes me clean up 😂😂😂

Interesting system… If you could use it like 0:47 with a hose hooked up to your router and/or sander, it should be way more effective. Also this set up has more gradual angles which should get better air flow. Not sure if you have a way to connect a dust hose to your router(s) but it makes a huge difference for me. Thanks for the thorough and honest review! 👍🏼

It would definitely work better attached to the router, but I hate that. It feels like my tools are dragging. So this is a good alternative for us

I started making wood signs with a Bosch trim router and cut out the rear as recommended by the Rhotens. The rear opening allowed me to hold a narrow vacuum hose between my fingers but it was clumsy. I even narrowed the hose further by 3d printing a narrow vacuum hose adapter I found on thingiverse. Eventually I ended up using a cordless Ryobi trim router because I found a clear vacuum adapter kit online. I also added fairy lights as recommended by the Rhotens. My cordless Ryobi trim router with fairy lights and an attached vacuum hose is a joy to rout with.

Home Depot has this thing called Powertec cyclone dust collection system that fits on a 5 gal. bucket that is used in line before the Vac. It collects dust into the bucket therefor saving the Vacs filter from getting clogged .

We ordered the cyclone. It needed up taking away from the vacuum pull so it’s sitting in the storage shed. We ended up going with the 1:1000 micron bag.

When I saw this on your video from Texas I really liked it. I do believe it should have wider intake nozzle. That would make more useful for other things.

I actually like the size of the intake nozzle, it allows it to have good suction

I've been concerned about you guys never wearing dust protection so hope this will be a game changer. Even working outside, you breath in a lot of fine dust.

First I would get a wider intake nozzle. Second I would try to find a larger vacuum. Your 6 hp was a good choice but a larger pro system would really make a difference.

Agreed! I had an official 6hp Shop-Vac and made a downdraft sanding table box for it. I discovered it wasn't powerful enough and I would need a pro system if I wanted to use the box.

Can’t see the point if you’re just holding it in front of your router. Just using the shop vac hose in front of the router will have the same effect??

It could, but you'd have to come up with a way to mount it, and that also doesn't allow for overhead work

The biggest difference is the air quality. It makes a huge difference in the fine dust . The large chips, ehh...not to much.
