To see a well renowned chef travel to our country to experience our cuisine is just amazing... Makes me feel even more proud of this patch of land that we call Home. Aotearoa New Zealand not only is one of the most safest countries on earth, it's also one of the most spectacular places to live. Our Kai is to die for, our scenery is second to none and the people here are wholesome... Tena koe Gordon Ramsay

You should be neighbour (I am an Aussie) - watching this makes me envious!
I think this series showcases what makes Gordon so great: He may not be THE best at any specific kind of food, but he is amazingly versatile in his cooking. He shows incredible respect for the various food traditions he encounters, while at the same time not letting 'food rules' dictate how or what he cooks.

@@FM-dm8xj I'm paying him a compliment, friend, not insulting him. There are amazingly talented people, and there's a bunch of other 'multi Michelin starred chefs', as well as an abundance of people who maybe deserve the Michelin star but never had the opportunity to get it; claiming to be THE best is just arrogant, unless you're able to conclusively prove it. Gordon isn't able to prove this - in fact, he routinely loses cooking challenges against both masters of various styles, and skilled hobby chefs. His own mother - a former chef - is an example of someone he's lost to, as well as hobbyists who have worked long and hard to perfect a single dish. Where Gordon shines is, like I mentioned in my initial comment, his versatility and his incredible respect for every style he encounters, as well as his eye for details.
Monique is amazing! She now has her own restaurant in Wellington, NZ call Hia Kai, her menu encompasses Maori food that is foraged by her and her chefs

NZ what a beautiful country
Idk why but i love when Gordon always invites special guests to come dine with him at his restaurants, theres something so inviting about his persona.
“How far down to dig the pit?” says Gordon “2 feet” she says “stop it!” Gordon says lol So many adventures and places travelled to source the items for this feast. The finished product looked amazing and the respect that developed between chefs was heartwarming and authentic. Thanks for another great adventure ….. and yes Gordon shot the goat! It’s all about organically sourcing the ingredients and he has done that since day one. Way to go Mr. Ramsey

uncharted is gordon's best show by far in my opinion. so authentic, so honest and genuine, so sincere in its approach to showcasing the amazing variety of cultural foods locals might even take for granted this show is giving me such an appreciation for the ingenuity of humanity to harvest enjoyment out of the beautiful world around us
Aotearoa is beautiful and has an air of untouched history..something you feel.
I used to cook rabbits I hunted like this as a young boy. I read it in a Gary Paulsen book, became obsessed with hunting and being able to survive in the wilderness. Lucky for me my grandparents had a farm and a lot of woods. So I would live for days at a time by myself on the farm. Wonderful memories this video brought back

that would've been insane to live on a farm with a forest outback. a massive playground in the yard, endless things to do from hunting to camping and everything else between.

@@nonethy-9914 I would spend my entire summers on the farm, I am incredibly fortunate to have experienced that. Gordon took the meaning of a Chef to whole new level. That on itself deserves an award bigger than those Michelin stars.

thats so true Mr Gordon. A lot of Maori and Polynesian dont like sharing their secret of making food to anyone but to share food is always in our hearts
This show reflects everything Gordon and Maori... connected, passionate, smart, wise, talented, focused, grateful, humble, funny AsF and REAL.. and I looooove that Gordon is able to impress each host
its amazing to see someone who loves food and respects the culture like this man
It is wonderful to see the hapa haole Kiwii/Maori are melding the cultures and not losing the Polynesian Triangle heritage with the added bonus of Gordon interacting with people who are NOT TV Kiwis

Grew up in New Zealand now live in the UK love this series!
I love this show not only for its awesome content, but because it reveals a humble side to Chef Gordon which I have rarely seen in any other of his programs. It’s a truly remarkable show and it’s helped me see a bit more into the human side of one of the best chefs in the world.
Eating that gorgeous food over that beautiful view.

Gordon is a legend and showed his generous spirit here!!!
I like the new Chef Gordon Ramsay now.. Accepting ideas and learning from other.. NOW THATS MY CHEF!! :)
He helped promote other countries traditional and cultural heritage through food and cooking. Respect to that man, he knows he is one of the top chefs but rather feel the natural taste of other countries.
I love this series. Please do more of secret food all over the world.
The mountain ranges of NZ are breathtaking
What a feed, looks mean az lol But that's true, we're not very flashy with our style of food. I'm glad a chef of his caliber liked our food style a bit lol. Nga mihi from Aotearoa.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and I watched it as I had heard that Gordon Ramsay was really friendly and a pleasure to work with. It changed my mind as previously I had thought he was an arrogant Bugger. Sorry Gordon Haha love from New Zealand 🙂
One of the cooking techniques shown like the underground cooking has been practiced in different parts of India since centuries....Gordon you are simply amazing as always....love and Namaste from India 🙏☺️
the beauty of this is that even an elder can learn something from a young, as long as he can appreciate it 😇🤗

this is a brilliant episode. Gordon comes across so well. Love how he can relate and enjoys getting his butt kicked!
Gordon is the mannn!!!!!!!! Awesome bro !!!!
One of my biggest loves with hunting and fishing is giving it to new people to try and seeing them love it. From trying pheasant for the first time, to sausage and charcuterie, a lot of really cool things I've learned the last few years.
So much respect to you Chef Gordon Ramsay..Hope to see you in person one day🙏
You could see it pained Gordon a bit to take the goats life. Good on you Gordon for being respectful. I've been to Stewart Island and it's hauntingly beautiful.
now thats coming back to all our roots and its what it means to be human
Bloody hell that was a great shot. You can see there was a lot of wind blowing and shooting from sitting can be hard work 👏👏 what an awesome video. Those hungi fire pits get stupidly hot too 😅
'Just like tying your shoe lace. Pretty sure your kids could do it.' OUCH
Absolutely wonderful
I love how she's pushing him for time. I'm sure the guests aren't too phased. *It's Chef Ramsay after all!* If he was cooking for me, he can take all the time he needs.
Tena Koe Gordon Ramsay 🤌❤️😹
I'm very intrigued by the grub sauce. And the kelp steamed fish. To say nothing about the stone pressure cooker earth pit technique. That's a lot of work. But it scales to a whole goat, I guess.

Great stuff. I was last down to Stewart Island, maybe 1972. A special place. Foveaus Strait is really something - went down on sea as flat as glass; came back with waves breaking over the ship which was steering at about 40% west of the destination, Bluff.

Ti-Ti-Ti-Ja, Ti-Ti-Ti-Ja Such a Maori thing to do... funny as. Monique representing the whanau🤣. And Jeremy, a typical local... Hori as!!!
Wow New Zealand, what a country!
Even within NZ, i feel the traditional hangi is under appreciated. City folk rarely get the opportunity to participate in or even eat hangi cooked food. I was lucky enough to grow up in a small rural town with a Maori presence who knew how to prepare a hangi for generations. And lucky enough to attend public community events where food was prepared in a hangi, otherwise i'd never have eaten it. Amazing food, 10/10. Sadly I've never had the opportunity to prepare/cook a hangi myself, would love to one day. It's a lot of work, and requires preparation/resources you don't normally have sitting around. But well worth it if you have the time and want to do it.
Sure your Kids can Do it Ramsay: 👊 wanna fight me
