Totally agree. This is much funnier and it's clever funny not crude. Even the swears or the blue jokes are clever. I genuinely believe the office got hyped because of the fact it was popular with the middle class

They're both great in their own way but Phoenix Nights definitely didn't/doesn't get the attention it deserves due to not being on the BBC and being Northern.

I used to think the same being a Northerner myself, but having watched The Office properly years later it really is top notch comedy. Gervais and Merchant nailed it.
