Its to small/I use 4 43inch 7680x4320p displays and I keep a 65 inch display above them mounted on the wall,I keep three of the 42 inch displays on my desk and the fourth monitor is mounted above those three monitors,centered/in the middle and then the 65inch display is above that, the multiple monitors are for VMs/Virtual Machines/different OSs,to test my code, E-mail and a message box, of some kind is up on one of my monitors as well and the 65inch display is used for having some type of video/movie/TV show up in the background, while I'm working. I also have servers/VM machines/I connect to a computer with an i9-13900k,4090,128GBs of RAM and multiple Kingston KC 3000 SSDs and some Samsung 990 SSDs/Apple laptops lack RAM/no 128GBs of RAM options/multiple internal SSDs aren't an option either,so I have to improvise, because I need Apple's OS,with actual Apple hardware, after I test things in emulators,so I definitely have to use better/more versatile/more powerful machines,MOST OF THE TIME/when I can/I use Manjaro Linux,Window and android regularly as well, for the projects I work on.

I just purchased this from B&H. It is perfect. The USB hub is more useful than I imagined and completely cut down on cable uses on my desk. All I can say is, wow. The display is really eye-catching and 3D-like given the clarity, connected to Mac Mini and Mac Studio. Even though they were probably the base model in the Apple Store, the M1 chip and M2 chip are so fast. Lightning fast, could say. Wireless trackpad so smooth and enough space to move your hand around, and here I thought using a regular mouse was great, but trackpad even better. So much more 'finger-real' estate. Such cutting-edge technology, even the Apple Watch, one of the most amazing tiny pieces of tech today. Robots may be a different arena but they sure cost a lot. I don't consider Apple products too expensive anymore, in that the price point seems more fair than say in 2007. For some reason maybe because of the large area of the Apple Store the Apple Display is so thin with narrow bezel and vibrant it seems larger than how it may be in a small room. It looks so much like the new iMac. I would give the 2022 (or 2023) Apple Display 10 out of 10, one of the best displays I ever saw. Much like those Sharp Aquos displays that cost thousands, some of the sharpest and clearest display technology that really looks great in the not-so-gorgeous concrete and steel interior of a warehouse-style retailer.

i use both U2723qe and S2722qc. Both are from DELL, both are 4k and 27". I am using them with a Macbook and a scaled resolution (to gain more pixels per character or icon, like in the menu bar, and to have a font size of the macos controls matching the macbook 13" display). I can tell that the panel of the ultrasharp is a notch better and comes closer to the retina display of the macbook. If affordable i would always choose the U27 over the S27. I was considering the 32" U3223qe. I did not choose that one especially for the very reason others prefer 32": using native resolution without scaling. Why? When you switch display settings to the resolution on the right end of the dial in system settings, you will NOT get a HiDPI resolution with a 4K display! Meaning, all fonts and icons will be rendered with less pixel when you want that maximum of real estate. Thanks for your video!

Mhm, the biggest thing that bothers me is the IPS panel and fake black. weren't there some mini LED and OLED screens with 120hz up and 1000 nits up that were shown at CES? I can't wait until we see more of them in the 27 to 32 inch range. Use the predecessor to the Dell in your review as a work monitor and yes, as you say, is ok, for home use and here work and entertainment I would prefer true color worlds, true blacks and better refresh rates over a HUB. And I have hoped we will finally see more in this field. For me, colors and contrast are the highest values for consuming or looking at anything in the web, of course with fast timings and hopefully in the future with fast refresh rates and high nits(by still staying color accurate). But it’s not getting cheaper if we still think that IPS Black or TN Panels are still enough.

The 32" model is much more enjoyable on native 4K with MacOS. Only the menubar and System Preferences are hard to read. Everything else is scalable and crisp enough (around 140DPI). The 32" stand is also sturdier. I ended up buying a U2722DE as a secondary display, since they share the same design, to replace a 2012 1440p 27" Ultrasharp, which still works.

I went for the similar 1440 version of this, the U2722DE, and I’ve been quite pleased. It’s plenty of crisp without the scaling. I am glad that Samsung is releasing a 5k 27” to get us Mac users a true retina resolution.

It is better for Windows users to stick with 1440p on 27 inch, because 4K on 27 inch will need scaling which has caused so many issues with blurry elements on screen in the past.

@@pkennethv I'm just saying that because I've tested this display on m1 Macs, I haven't seen it with intel macs for example, so maybe with those the display looks fine. On my display, 27 inch 1440p, my M1 MacBook has the letters blurry and it's kind of difficult to read. Apparently, this display does not meet the standards for the retina Mac requirements, so it just does not work. On the other hand, windows looks fine on this display, because they use the ClearType software that modifies the font a little bit so it does not look blurry. So, either you go with Mac, that respects the fonts exactly for appearance reasons and does not display correctly on this display, or you go with windows, that modifies the font slightly to support many screen resolutions and sizes, but is not truthful to the real font.

It would be good if you to mention that the daisychaining function relies on Windows or Linux. macOS, at least up to the current version of macOS Ventura, does not support multi stream transport - the display port feature that allows for daisychaining.

I also have 2 of them in use with an MDS19 holder from Dell. The features are very good, even 10 Gbps/Lan, and I save myself a Thunderbolt dock, which either costs as much as a U2723QE or annoys with high-frequency beeping. I only have 3 small criticisms: - no speaker (somewhat bad ones are enough for system sounds and the occasional YT video), but that doesn't bother me, as I output the sound via the MacBook and switch to the Homepod when necessary - the included stand is stable, but depending on the desk, vibrations are amplified too much - it reflects a bit strongly for a matte display, especially on dark surfaces / dark mode I previously had the cheaper S2722QC but the U2723QE was worth the extra cost!

  • @AndyJMacLeod

I just ordered on of these to pair with my new M3 Pro MacBook Pro. The other monitors I considered included: Samsung M8, LG Ultrafine 4K Ergo monitors (27" and 32" models), Alogic Clarity... The Alogic Clarity seems to have the best display, but it is more expensive, and I'm not going to be doing photo editing or video work. I already have a 32" LG display in another room, and find it to be slightly too large on my standing desk. The desk that I am buying this new monitor for is slightly smaller, so I definitely wanted a 27" monitor this time. But what won me over to the Dell U2723QE model was the hub. Specifically, the ethernet port is a great addition. (Why don't all these other models have ethernet ports?) These days, many people buying these monitors will be using them with laptops, so having a one-cable, USB-C (to the laptop) solution seems perfect.

I have this monitor. i find the placement of the connections on the bottom of the monitor to be extremely annoying. Really wish they were on the back of the monitor instead. I agree that the hole in the stand for the cables to pass through is too low, but I am using a vesa arm so that's no longer an issue for me. One other annoyance is that the Dell Display Driver software seems to constantly have updates (good that it's being updated, but annoying to install updates weekly). Other than that, it's a good monitor.

I have to say that for Mac users, it's nice that there are several options with the screen size of 27 or 32in. What I now want to see companies do is make monitors that can fit tighter workspaces. I.e., I'm currently using a 23.8 in. QHD monitor by Lenovo. For what I'm doing with my MacBook Air, it's perfect. Got a 75hz refresh rate, connects via USB-C, but it's got an HDMI port (for my Switch), and a DisplayPort (for my PC). And two USB-A ports (I have a light bar, and a Lightning cable connected). If it had a 144hz refresh rate, it'd be a perfect monitor.
