Some amazing lifts you missed in my opinion is Bonica Brown's 289 kg squat, Heather Connor's 200 kg deadlift, Kjell Egil Bakkelund's 330 kg deadlift/800 kg total in the 74 kg class, Sen Yang's 452.5 kilogram equipped squat, Ian Bell's 388.5 kilogram deadlift and honorable mention: Cenk Kocak deadlifting 400 kilograms, the second man to do it raw under the IPF.

2024 is gonna be a great year for powerlifting I believe. I can't wait to see JUNIOR lifters like Carl Johansson, Temur Samkharadze, Tiffany Chapon and others break junior records and dominate in the open competition. I also can't wait to see open records being broken. I heard Austin Perkins might return to the IPF this year in the 74 kilogram class. That'll be super fun to watch. Obviously can't forget about Jesus Olivares... he's gonna go wild in February

Great video! It was very IPF dominate though. There were definitely a lot of great lifts during USAPL nationals. Perk, Daniel clements, Rondel etc.

Jésus will add at least 10Kg on his Deadlift. His grip looks phénoménal now

Lol bro has to do 950 and 1000 first. Keep in mind every 10 lbs at this level is an extreme challenge.

I think he has more too, but that much mass makes the starting position a lot harder, so it might be a short way from looking easy to failing. As far as I know he’s also dealt/is dealing with some grip issues.

He has a ton of issues with grip lol, 500 isnt there for years. He has to chip off other milestones first. He did 950 the other day in the gym, failed on grip tho at the top. I believe he can hit 950 at Sheffield

Nice compilation, 93 kg 240kg bench was amazing considering Thor blew his pec in the 250s kg at 170 plus kg body weight and untested!

I mean in the case of Thor he could bench press more back then but after boxing and losing a lot of muscle and mostly fat, he grew his pecs too fast resulting in the tear. He's capable of lifting a lot of weight he just needs to slow down

As someone from the outside without a lot of knowledge in this community, I noticed that some of the deadlift and bench press clips here seem to have a very small range of motion. At what point does the lift count? Is it some minimum distance for the bar to move? Would 1 cm moved distance technically be considered a lift as long as the right joints are locked out? Genuine question not sarcasm.

A new rule for bench press has implemented depth so the elbow has to be at least parallel with the shoulder joint. For the deadlift there are no "ROM rules" but even with the best leverages the bar path is significant. However, what really matters in 1RM attempts is maximum force production, which is sustainable for ~30 seconds. So Range Of Motion isn't as relevant as you'd think in these cases 🙌 Stay strong!
