His bench mis grooved on 2nd. Went up fine on 3rd but he re racked too fast. !st dead screwed him up so he had to retake. 3rd dead was for all or nothing. The weight was fine and achievable. He just made some critical mistakes.

The bench was definitely doable, I saw the misgroove as it happened. Not surprised he smoked it on the 3rd. Deadlift seems to be his problem area because he’s so massive. Lock out is tough for him because of his size. Grip was also an issue on top of that during 1st attempt but that’s how it goes with 800+ lbs.

Man really a shame on the bench and deadlift, definitely bad attempt numbers. What a waste going for 380 twice, there was no doubt 380 was flying, should have used 2nd attempt for something like 400-410 instead of going up almost 50kg from attempt 2-3. And just an unfortunate moment for the early rack on bench, he's prob kicking himself for that one

@@Konalothe issue is not really related to his country (he could probably compete under neutral flag otherwise, should he accept it of course). It’s that Fedosienko served a suspension for doping in 2005, and Sheffield requires athletes to never have had a doping violation. This was already discussed back in 2020 for the first Sheffield, that was later cancelled due to Covid. Also to be fair, in order to be aligned with the rules of eligibility regarding doping violations, I think Fedosienko’s records should not count towards %WR eligibility either. That would allow some of the current best 59kgs to be eligible.

@@olanordmann-ny5gn Yes, it was one of the 2019 Arnold events and advertised as an international competition where world records could be broken by USAPL. Then after the competition happened, the IPF said it's not accepting the records as it's not a recognized international competition. USAPL tried to appeal it and take it to court but lost so the world records weren't accepted. One of my athletes actually pulled a world record deadlift at the event that then wasn't accepted and only became a national record.
