Just an incredible bunch of lifters - all of these guys are phenomenal and a joy to watch!
Novikov keeps on impressing in such a massive way. Crazy strength and just make every lift look a little easier each time. What a man =D
That narrow stance and narrow grip though ... he was 3/4 of the way extended before the tyres left the ground ... good on him for playing the physics to his advantage there, but you could just see that anyone in that stance and with that close grip had a particular advantage with that bendy bar. not to take anything away from the guy - he's a beast!

Indeed. I've always said, their is an advantage in youth. You have so much energy and your recovery time is much quicker than a strong man in there late 30's - 40's. Also, i believe in a thing called will power, it's almost like adrenaline, but for the mind. I'm not a strong man myself, but in my early 20's i most definitely had more will power than i do today. Maybe that's me not wanting to risk an injury, but in my early twenties i pushed my body to the absolute max. I wouldn't be able to do the same things i once did. I'm still young at 33 years of age, but definitely not the same.
Dang Brian I don't understand how you remain so strong for all these years good stuff man you're an inspiration 🥇🥇🥇🥇🎯💪💪💪🏆🪙🪙
Peña 1150 was AWSOME to watch. Best lift of the competition in my humble opinion
Oleksii is just phenomenal with these elevated deadlifts. One of the shortest and lightest guys in the competition, but man, just lifts these WR weights amazingly.
Oleksi is a Saiyan getting stronger after each lift
Oleksiy Novikov has no equal in the elevated deadlift. Definitely the best strongman right now, even with his '3rd' place finish at WSM (tied for 2nd), and 4th at the Shaw Classic, and given how he's consistently on the podium. I'm not sure why he didn't do well in the last few events at the Shaw Classic.

Rauno is probably stronger considering he has the silver dollar deadlift record at 580kg. Also the reason he did so poorly was because his pain killers numbed his hands for the farmers, he was dealing with a bicep injury, he doesn’t have the most static leg strength in this lineup and the guys here just happen to be some of the very few who are better than him at stones. I mean who’s consistently better than Oleksii at stones? Brian☑️ Trey☑️ Maxime☑️ Evan☑️ Tom❌ JF Caron❌ Martins❌ Mitchell☑️ Like 5/8 guys that usually beat Oleksii were there.

What a great show! Y’all need to create a music playlist of what the show was playin! A lot of good lifting songs were goin for sure
Novikov has the DL dialed on another level than everyone there. Rauno would be a great match. The grip and stance width are ideal. Utilizing the flex of the bar for maximum start height. While keeping the bar whip under control. He easily has another 20kg. Gabe Pena I believe has the WR trap bar deadlift. I hope he gives that another go.
Every time they have this event the record goes up. Crazy

Lifting 4 x your own body weight is mind blowing!
Man! When the conversation comes up, which sport has the best fans. Strongman fans are the best. Always supportive to all competitors
Your and Eddie are my favorite KZread’s rn
The legs close technique on that particular bar that overflexs on purpose seems best cause the bar stays more stable.
Novikov had the strategy, get as narrow as possible, grip the bar as narrow as possible, with such a long flexible bar (and all the extra weight at the ends) you only have to move those end parts a little when you grip it right in the middle. Brian was making this one a lot harder for himself by grabbing the bar so wide.
I hope this new world record stands for at least a decade. That was absolutely incredible! Way to go dude! 🏋️💪

Gotta love Bobby. Never gives up.
Would like to see someone play around with a forklift and strain gauges by setting the forks at different widths on that bar. Novikov's technique is significantly more efficient as the bar gets more whip.
You guys should make a playlist fo rsongs being played there. It's sick
That snap crackle pop microphone though
When Oleks lifted the record I got tears in my eyes, what a man! Slava Ukraini
That was pretty damn amazing!
With the dead lift, I think assistance in getting wraps on correctly should be allowed. It's not a test of hand strength, it's leg and back strength. The risk of severe injury if 1 strap slips.
Can’t believe I got a picture with this man in a random ihop in Pennsylvania
Brain Shaw competing in an event named in his honour is one of the most badass things I've ever seen! This man is beyond awesome!
It’s great to see people toying around with my lateral raise warmup.
Absolutely mind-boggling
Shaw & Hall are the best of all time !
The funny thing is that in his last video Oleksii and his coach said they didn't even work for hummer tire deadlift, the actual potential of Oleksii in this type of High leverage deadlifts is in the clouds.
Man, I'm just over here doing some maths. If the area of a cross section of the lumbar is about 2.45 inches, that means that 1,210 on the bar plus say 150 pounds for their torso is 1360 / 2.45 = 555 PSI on the lumbar vertebrae! Sheeeeeeesh!

I love that you're doing this and that it is growing, AND that it is announced far enough in advance that One can plan travel to it, which is the biggest weakness of WSM IMO.
