The Best Lift for Your Toyota Tacoma? It must be that time of year or maybe it's all the money the government is throwing at us, but I'm getting a lot of questions about lifts for the Tacoma. Here's what I think is the right lift for the Tacoma. Do you agree?

Morning Rob. I’ve the ICON Stage 8 suspension 2.5” lift , added leaf pak in the rear, with 285/75 Toyo RT’s on 16” wheels. But my truck is used Offroad. No rubbing due to a cab-mount chop. No rubbing issues.

Finally received my Bilsteins front and rear shocks, dropping the truck off monday and looking forward to a new look. will wait to see how it looks once completed and then will put 285 70 10 tires. toss up between Wildpeak or rough country. I guess for tires 150 per tire sounds reasonable, but 250 , ouch. i do like the KO2, well we shall see.. thanks for the information.

So, I've been telling you for a while about lifting my Tacoma and all that. Well, I settled on a 2" lift front and 1 in the back, while keeping the 265/70r17 (32's). I do a lot of driving, especially for my fishing and I would hate to spend more money on the gas instead of the bait for fishing lol. But the truck now, which you already saw on Facebook, looks pretty cool and I love it. It is setup for my needs and works for me. I might go with 33's once the truck is paid off. But I will set it up the same way you did to avoid any rubbing stuff. 😀

Sales manager had one with a 3”lift and hair bigger wheels and tires which is perfect in my opinion, but whenever you put bigger wheels and tires it’s harder on everything, brakes, motor, tranny, etc. appreciate your honesty! I installed bigger tires on my 2017 Tacoma TRD Sport. Stock tire size is 265/65/R17, and I put on 275/70/R17 which lifted my truck just over an inch....nice!! Now, after all the research I did stated that was the biggest tire I could fit on my stock truck without any modifications, any modifications at all. Well, the front tires rub a bit when cranked hard over in reverse only...this to me is not acceptable. So, I'm putting in a lift kit, 2" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. The reputable shop thats doing the work states the OME products are better quality than the TRD Pro 2" lift kit and he guarantees my truck will handle and drive smoother then with the stock suspension. I will update this post once the work is done next week and I take my truck for a test ride. Love your Tacoma videos Rob!

Getting my 2021 Toyota Tacoma TRD 4X4 OFFROAD soon in April and want to do a lift with 6112 and 5160 Bilstein shocks front and rear. The rear will get an Icon AAL too. The tires will be BFG KO2 265/75/16. This truck will be used off roading on weekend. Hope this setup will work will no rubbing...

I’m getting same Bilsteins, Deaver Stage 2, and SPC UCAs. Was told ball joints will eventually blow out (well prematurely when compared to rest of suspension (gotta make sure longevity is maintained)) so I am going with the SPC UCAs.

Dude giving advice on a lift without doing an AAL at least. Axle wrap like a mfer. Spend the 200 on an icon add-a-leaf at least, blocks in the back will cause your rear axle to rotate under load, may not be right away, but eventually. And change your UCAs to something that allows proper clearance and chamber/toe and alignment adjustment options.

Matter of opinion…hah…axle wrap is a matter of physics for axle below spring rear setups. And by moving the axle further away from your spring with a block spacer, it increases the effect that the torque puts on the axle, causing more axle wrap. Can tell you don’t do any kind of wheeling with those uca’s at the angle their at, you would be eating spring at full droop.

Perhaps with a lift beyond my height, by no worries with mine.
