You could have used your original projector to fill up the screen and you still don't have your new projector set up correctly. Before you mounted to ceiling, you should set up the projector on a stand on the floor and pull it back until the height matches the screen. It will be way too wide for your screen but that's ok. Now go into Display settings and change the horizontal to fit. It's pretty easy to do and I believe BenQ even has a tutorial on their site on how to do it. I'm surprised they didn't mention that to you. In any case your new projector is much better than the old one. Also keep the computer and projector in 16:9 even if your screen isn't. In addition that new projector has many controls to help you fit the picture perfectly edge to edge. There's no reason to have those black bars on top and bottom, unless you're unwilling to re-mount the projector a little further back. .

Thanks for the input and yes you are correct. The only problem (correct me if I’m wrong) is that since I livestream the GSPro feed at 1080p if I was to adjust the display settings via the graphics card well then that same aspect ratio would then be pulled into OBS for the stream. At least that’s my understanding of it and I rather you guys have a good feed / graphics then having some slight bars down here for me. Look forward to your feedback. Cheers dude!

@@GolfOnTap I'm not that familiar with livestream and am by no means an expert on this stuff, but just went through the exact upgrade as you and learned a few things along the way. If you have two monitors, you can set one at 1080p and the other at 4K. If you duplicate the monitors, it's important that they are both set to 60Hz. If you have any additional questions I can do my best to answer them. The hardest part, as you've seen, is mounting the darn thing. :)

I don't know how I missed this video. I am looking at upgrading to this projector. Do you think it will work for a10.5 x 8 enclosure at 5 feet throw? Otherwise I may need to build a cabinet and put at an angle. I have to get creative I have a RV garage, so ceilings are 15feet high. I am currently using an Optima GT 1090 HD (not true 4K).

Hey BJCZ, uhhhhhhhh tough question to be honest. I'm not a super AV guru, but to my understanding and kind of the same issue with my simulator is that a 10 foot wide screen you will more than like be at a 4:3 ratio in order to fill the screen up. So essentially no matter what resolution you may be at 1080p (which is 16:9) or 4k (which is 16:10 whatever it ultimately gets compressed and you loose the full quality. Granted this projector and some others have like 4K upscaling and what not, but we are really missing out on its actual performance by having smaller screens. Now, will it work? I'm sure it would... it has lens shift, physical and digital zoom, and adjustable keystoning, etc. I think you just need to determine if its worth the extra $$ or maybe look at the Benq LH820ST.
