    John, I purchased a BenQ LH 600 ST Led. I also need a aspect ratio of 1 to I as my impact screen is also 98” by 98”. The firmware version was only 1.0 and it needed to be 1.01 to accommodate the one-to-one aspect ratio. I’ve been dealing with the technical folks at Ben Q who are absolutely phenomenal but unfortunately, I wasn’t able to increase the firmware for my computer. I had to ship the unit back to California for them to perform this operation they were kind enough to ship me a loaner in the interim, but for some reason, although it had the correct 1.01 firmware, it wasn’t working properly. they informed me that their technician, for some reason wasn’t able to upgrade the firmware to 1.01. No my unit it was only purchased a couple weeks ago. The dilemma I have is that due to reasons beyond BenQ’s Control stock is limited namely shipping through the Red Sea. Is there any way you may be aware of for me to upload the 1.01 version of firmware? The LH 600 ST should be upgradeable.

    Unfortunately I do not know a fix for the firmware upgrade. If you have not done so already create a 1080x1080(1x1) resolution in your display settings on your PC. The native resolution for that projector is likely 16x9 or 1920x1080. I would set the projector to output at a 4x3 ratio and output your PC at 1080x1080 and set GSPro from the configuration screen at 1080x1080 if it shows up. Then try to zoom in the 1080x1080 (1x1) ratio image on the screen. If that won't work try 1280x960 output from your PC and that will give you close to filling the screen. There is no such thing as a 1x1 ratio projector. It's just a setting BenQ has which is nice but can be overcome if it's not working. Also watch my BenQ video. It's basically the same projector but mine has higher lumens. Here's the link kzread.info/dash/bejne/dqOhuY-ImZq-fJs.html

    Thanks. A very comprehensive video, well done. I'm considering the lower spec LH600ST but which is also a golf focused projector with similar set up features to the 820 (including 1:1 which I also need). Your video was very helpful. I might even be persuaded to pay the extra for this one as it does seem great!

    Thanks! It has completely transformed my golf sim into something more immersive and different! BenQ is definitely the way to go in my opinion for a golf sim projector. I ran the BenQ tool on their website for 1x1 and they recommended the LH600ST. That was the first on my radar. The 820 was recommended as well at the bottom of the page. I moved up to the 820 because of the 3600 lumens

    Great video. I just set up my sim. Use the HT2150st. I can’t express the difficulty I had on a 16.9 ratio. Got it to fit. But looks like I will need to change it.

    Thanks! Interesting. Does it have vertical and horizontal keystone? Digital shrink and zoom? Corner fit? That aspect ratio should be the easiest to fit. Should have a native 16x9 aspect ratio. Have you reached out to BenQ?

    It has vertical keystone. No horizontal. I basically had to mount the projector between 9 to 10 feet off the screen and then her to play with the tilt on the projector. It works at 16.9 aspect ratio but from what I’ve seen from your video it’s probably best that I change the projector. I’m going to run with the 2150 ST for the time being until I get a good feel for it. Your video was awesome. I wish I would’ve known that two years ago lol

    Great review, what is your distance between the projector and your screen? I will need to place mine 2.5 m away to prevent errant balls; the LH600ST might be a better fit because of the throw ratio, but it looks like the contrast ratio and lumens with the LH820ST is superb.

    Thanks! I have it offset right at 9 ft or 2.7 m. I stepped up to the LH820ST primarily to get over 3500 lumens and laser projection. My first choice was the LH600ST due to the price. However I knew that I would be annoyed when I had friends over or created content and wanted more room light! Yes...the 820 is superb!

    @@Break100Golfthanks for the insight ; my concern will be placing it at 2.5m away from. 7’ x 7’ impact screen (Net Return), will there be a an issue with all the lost/unused pixels? Cheers.

    @Soarbywire I think you would be ok with the LH820ST. It has a "blanking" feature. This is from BenQ. "Blanking feature crops the useless image pixels from irregular projected image while maintaining detail and image quality. Get the perfect square image without any pixel loss." I looked through the 600 manual but I did not see that feature. Either way both projectors are awesome and you will figure it out! Cheers!

    Just bought the same Projector you have a few weeks ago. My screen is approximately 102x120 ish. I’m have a hard time getting the a full picture screen. What am I doing wrong? The screen is always crooked and can’t seem to get anything close to what you have.

    First make sure your refresh rate is set correctly. It may be at 59.94 hz. Change it to 60 hz...or change it to 59.94 hz from 60 hz. This may fix it. Other than that you would just have to play with the vertical and horizontal keystone until you get it close then use corner fix and digital zoom. Turn off fast mode

    Hey John question as stated before I have the BenQ LH 600 ST LED which has the same menu settings as your model. You didn't cover advanced settings while in advanced settings can one adjust contrast and tint? In your presentation, I noticed that they were grayed out…

  • @Break100Golf

    @Break100Golf

    They were likely grayed out because I have it pre-set to "Golf Mode" which I recommend. There is probably a "Custom" or "User" setting in the picture pre-sets where you can adjust it. With "Golf Mode" the engineers have done the work for you. I just increased the brightness by 4%.

    I was just on the phone with BenQ support about getting my new unit shipped back. The gentleman I was speaking with informed me that contrast and tint are greyed out because that would only be active if it were an analog input. Since we are using a HDMI it's greyed out. As I stated in a previous comment the support staff at BenQ are exceptional. One last thing one of the advantages of using a square impact screen is you can rotate it and get much more use out of it as it starts to wear…
