An interesting thing about Artorius is that he is left handed, he fights you with his right hand due to his left arm being broken. So he isnt even at full strength fighting the player.

  • @luciano1240

    @luciano1240

    5 ай бұрын

No, Artorias is not left handed, that is a common misconception that i suppose someone made up thanks to DS2 but is immediately undone in DS3 (hell, it's also never done in DS1). His left shoulder pauldron is considerable larger than his right. Historically, this is done to protect your shield arm since you will be receiving blows there so reinforcing the arm where you will get hit the most was the logic. And, of course, we know that he used to have shield so there you have it.

Man, without knowing any of the Dark Souls lore, Artorias really reminds me of the infected Hollow Knight. Still formidable but you can tell he’s all janked up from that darkness around him, and not in control of himself, which makes you feel kinda sad while fighting him... Very similar posture and bearing as well! Wonder if Team Cherry was inspired by this boss when designing The Hollow Knight. Great episode! Loved the little “Next time” preview at the end! ^^

Thank you for passing. 13:54 - If you had stayed longer in the forest and cleared it completely before the battle with Sif - this location would be more familiar to you.) 29:48 - Assassination of a peaceful NPC.) 45:00 - After Bloodborne, Artorius does not look like something difficult, because there the battle is quite fast. But for Dark Souls, this boss was an unpleasant surprise with its speed and agility, since the main bosses were quite slow as the whole game. For those for whom this was the first game, it was very "fun" to meet him. From him went the tradition of such bosses: Artorius, Maria, Gael. 1:14:22 - This head and sounds here, the behavior of enemies - you can immediately see what inspired them when they made the hospital in the Bloodborne DLC.

Absolutely the coolest part of Dark Souls! I didn't even know you COULD use the lantern to open those illusory walls! I always assumed you had to use the "Cast Light" spell, because it's a sorcery of Ooacile, and you can only buy it from Elizabeth or Dusk. You also buy that white tree branch, The Oolacile Wand, from them, which lowers the stat requirements for casting sorceries, making it easier for non-magic builds to use the spell. As you might suspect, that dark hole in the wall sends you into the depths of the abyss and towards the "final boss" of the DLC. There's still places to explore and things to do up above, though. There's that Dragon for one, and that key you found...

A gazebo is a small building with a roof and generally with open sides, usually found in gardens or parks, where one can sit and _gaze_ on the view. FromSoft appear to be misusing the term. To be fair, you're not the only one who isn't familiar with the term - there's an anecdote that circulates in tabletop RPG circles about the time when a player encountered a gazebo, and, not knowing the word, assumed it was some sort of monster, and, after trying unsuccessfully to draw blood, decided to retreat - at which point, traditionally, the frustrated GM snaps and declares that the gazebo awakens and kills the player.

50:47 Artorias _did_ have a covenant with the beasts of the Abyss, allowing him to walk it, but in the end was corrupted all the same. Perhaps the exposure was just too great. There are hints we can glean from the context of what we witness in the dlc, but the complete story of what happened to him on his last Abysswalk is ultimately unknowable to the player. I doubt anyone except Alvina knows the truth, and she isn't talking.

I remember struggling to get through this game but now all the bosses and enemies seem so slow and I can see so many easy openings to attack them. The reason this DLC feels like Bloodborne is because they started working on it at the same time the DLC was being worked on. It's kind of the reason why Chester feels like he's from Yharnam because he is an asset used to test things like cloth physics and such. He's basically a prototype hunter character. Not just that, this Remaster has a ton of assets found in the data from BB such as the beta map for Upper Cathedral Ward.

The big tactic with Artorias is when you see him start that "AoE"...Is that you have to get close and do enough damage to him to disrupt it. It is actually a buff that makes him much stronger, FROM is counting on you to have courage enough to charge into him and break his buff. You prevent him from buffing and makes the fight easier overall. That being said, you handled him adeptly.👏 nice work.

The Royal Wood and the fight against Artorias are definitely two of the best parts of the DLC, and the entire game, in my opinion! Glad you're loving the DLC so much!

Just a heads up, that Bloated Sorcerer Head you picked up is one of the rarest items in the game, its something absurdly low like 3% drop rate. Good job haha (edit -- its actually 1%)

@@nyghtmoonshe wears the gold serpent ring alot while she is exploring, thats why she gets so many good drops...I have like 500 hours or so in this game and I've never had the sorcerer head drop before...I honestly didn't even know about it!

@brucepreston3927 True, but before Amber found the Gold Serpent Ring she was getting crazy luck with drops. It is definitely a run that has the favor of the RNG gods.

The way he slides across the floor and his upper body droops a bit, he struck me as a marionette. Actually, his legs are always bent like a puppet's, and all his movements are unnatural somehow.

You did great against Artorias! And especially so without interrupting his power-up sequence. Very impressive! Can't wait to see how you do against Kalameet, which is IMHO the best and hardest boss fight in the game.

Trying to count out a pattern in Artoris's over head slam flips, he has no limit to the number of times that move can be used in succession. The most ive counted was 17 flips in a row.

Can't believe we are almost at the end. This playthrough has been a joy to watch! Would you consider to play other Souls in the future? You seem to enjoy them quite a bit and honestly you are pretty good at. I would love to watch you playing Elden Ring, or DS3, even DS2 but that one is rough 😂

Amber, I don't know if it'll mess with your algorithm or whatever but when you finish this game please *please* watch some of vaatividya's "prepare to cry" videos and post the recordings somewhere. I imagine I speak for a ton of your fans when I say that I would really enjoy seeing you watch them, and I think you would really enjoy seeing some of the interpretations of the lore.

Imagine what fighting Artorias would have been like if he had use of his other arm. Artorias was not human. So he was all light and no dark. Thus he really could not face the dark of the Abyss and it consumed him. How his pendent ended up where it did, who knows. I can't wait till next episode. Will you find the secret, and will you do the right thing? Questions, questions.
