😂 not the most professional or planned unboxing but any means, the gang was sat in the cabinet opposite my hobby table and I got over excited! It’s funny what jumps out at you when you flick through a book.

Oh wow! Had to watch this twice!! That's alot to digest - Looks like a fab box full of goodies!

i did think the barricade sprue also felt out of place in the box, cool vid, thanks for the in-depth look at it all.

@@adamshobbystuff I don’t blame you, that’s a jumbo box of goodies there! (Also nice to know the upgrade sprue for orlock a isn’t included) don’t think they made that very clear as I thought it was!

It’s a great box, so close to perfect!

The Core rule Book is gone be available without the box .. so a show of its content .. makes sense in that light.

I see why they’ve done it from that sense, just puzzled me at the time, I can get carried away with the waffle when doing these things 😂

That was a great buy!!

A little disappointed with this one. I don't look at it as an expansion, thats for Outlands book. This is a standalone box with new campaign mechanics added. There are no rules for any other gangs outside of whats contained in the box (save for an explanation of vehicle stats/mechanics). There are no missed opportunities with GW, this is just another opportunity to milk more money out of you. Outside of the lacklustre book, the Orlock sprue is a great example. Even though the upgrade sprues are being moved over to plastic, FW release a resin upgrade kit for Orlocks containing respirators, backpacks etc in time for the Ash Wastes release. That was a calculated move. The same goes for the tactics cards. These could easily have been included in the box, but no, they're a separate release. On face value its a decent box, but even by GW standards this is bordering on misselling if its being marketed as an expansion. The expansion will be the Outlands book, whenever that appears. Pretty predatory if you ask me. That being said, at least the new terrain and Nomads are nice.

It’s absolutely a stand alone box, they’ve definitely gone for the ‘rule book then get the add ons’ approach with this. There is a lot of great stuff in here but also a lot of lazy frustrations, this box set could have been perfect with a bit more effort. My main gripe is that mat/playing surface, it’s terrible. Main love is the scenery it’s great.

@@adamshobbystuff The terrain is gorgeous. Already got my callipers out on it and Blender fired up to make some bits for it. Lots of scope for expanding on this and making a real settlement out of it. The only thing that mat is good for is a painting guide for your bases/terrain. I had a feeling they might go down the paper route when I first saw the contents revealed. Pretty sad.

Now that Necromunda has vehicles is this not just Gorkamorka without the Orks?

I think it’s a great set even at full retail (though that’s been going up sharply lately!) any discount on GW is always a welcome thing! Have fun with the set when it arrives 😃

Ouch, I always forget about the rather brutal exchange rates those outside the UK get subjected to. It does put a different spin on the set.

The models are awesome but they priced it on the terrain which imo is not very good.

That would swing the opinion on the box for certain, I really like the terrain so that’s great for me. The terrain is much more sturdy than some photos would suggest and although pricey is some of the more interesting scenery GW has come up with.

Not a fan or orlocks and their vehicles. GW wants u to pay for a free sprue that they include in other games like Kill Team. Why?

Not being a fan of orlocks certainly takes the shine off the set, I’m personally not going to use the orlock sprue as I’ve already done my gang but I do like the vehicles and am looking forward to adding them.

No buy for me. Looks good. Thats all. And its C$400 With tax. No thanks.

The brutal exchange rate has been raised by others, definitely makes the set less attractive.

The rather brutal foreign exchange rates do make that more of an issue certainly.

Big let down on paper board and some copycat terrain…but otherwise near perfect??! 🫤 That terrain board nothing short of cheap, flimsy paper. For £180? Rrp expect something more durable and quality.

I genuinely think that if they had given us a decent game board, ditched the scatter terrain and put some orlock heads in, this box set would have been the best Necromunda (or to be honest total GW) set yet. I love so much of this set. Unfortunately they didn’t do that so it’s a near miss for me. Still a great set but not spot on. I didn’t really talk too much about cost with this video as to be honest at this point pretty much everything GW release is hard to justify in real world terms. But I agree, for £180 rrp there shouldn’t be cop out elements in the box.

@@adamshobbystuff i’ve still got dark uprising boxed and sealed, to me that was probably near perfect set and value but i dunno whether to crack it open and enjoy or sell it on. I don’t really play necromunda much anymore but i love the lore and aesthetics. Was even contemplating selling or trading it for ashen wastes , those ash nomads would make perfect chaos cultists too.

In terms of getting used if you don’t play with it I’d personally say sell it and get something you’ll use. I have always painted a lot of figures and for me the joy is primarily in the building and painting. I do play a fair amount but I do find that once I’ve finished a project I almost only play enough games so I can justify selling it and starting something new! I once painted and sold the exact same Roman force 5 times over the course of a campaign as at the time it was the only system my gaming group was really into 😂
