Both the Dundee and the Ronan are Home Runs! Excited to see what comes next
One heck of a list my man. So glad they still making good stuff in the budget Realm. Thanks for video 📹 👍
Thanks for sharing bud!👊🏻new to your channel watching some older videos
Great video as always my bruh
Several years ago i bought a Kizer Begleighter. It was sub 50 bucks when i bought it. Now they're 54 dollars. The best 45 dollars I've ever spent on a knife. The fit, finish, and quality is absolutely incredible.
Great video Joe, Thanks.
Thanks man! I just ordered the Ronan in the Jade scales with the black. Subscribed a few weeks ago, and I've been going through your videos and taking a liking on your perspective.

Nice pickup and thanks for the support! glad to hear you're enjoying the channel- this Ronan is so good, I know youre going to dig it
Nice list. I'm going to have to give this one a look
Just found your channel. May I say you have a great narration voice! I like your list & the reasons behind your choices. Fully agree with the Bestechman knives at the top. Although it's not really a new brand (ie. son of Bestech), to have these as their 1st & 2nd knife releases both at sub $50 is truly amazing. Good to see them pushing the budget end of the market. Regarding 9Cr18 - it's actually a good budget steel especially if you require stain/rust resistance - certainly much better than D2 in that case. Sharp blades all.
Great video, thank you. I think there's only one model of the Ronan's that has more than 10 left. We got his & hers Ronan's. It's also her first pocket knife. I can't wait for ours. I hope they don't take forever to ship out. Keep it up bro.
All these are nice. I’ve been checking out some reviews on the Pyrite tho, I think I’m gonna order that. I generally don’t do budget knives these days but that one is just speaking to me. The one you picked as the best looks pretty damn killer as well, might have to put that on my wish list.

The pyrite is one I absolutely need to check out..cjrb hasn't responded to my messages (yet) so I may just pony up the 50 bucks and find out😂...after Christmas though
Looks like a really good choice. I'm a Pyrite fan, but this Ronin looks great too. I think I prefer a thinner handle profile in my Office EDC knives. The Ronin looks like a perfect outdoor carry for hiking, fishing, camping, or working in the yard around the house.
I use to cut cardboards and similar domestic things, since long time ago, a RUIKE P105K, very satisfied. Isn't necessary spend much money to a versatile knife, imo.
You did it right. I’m excited to get mine in SF Giants orange and black.
Nice list! My vote for best budget blade of the year is the Tempest Knives Pinion

Another one I'd love to check out and haven't had the chance to
I was seriously considering a Buck Selkirk, but this just might be the one.
the sachse is great...i'd like that Ti clip myself...
Good reviews, just bought both of them 👍🏼

Both bestechman knives are extremely solid pickups! Congrats!
You top pick definitely seems like a great choice!
Have you reviewed the cmb predator?
I followed right along with your assessments. I passed on the Dundee, solely because I am just sick of D2, even tho I love the design. I just pre ordered the Ronan.

Kinda wished I had gotten in on the red and black ronan but those were the first to sell out..oh well maybe on the next batch
I hear you but There’s a lot of us out there that still believe 4” and less are standard EDC size where 3” and less is small sized
Looks like a great knife. I have seen several reviewers complain about how stiff the springs are...
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
Out of the box the springs are stiff..much stiffer than a benchmade or a drp bear..that said they do wear in and while they are still stiffer than most crossbar style locks they don't hurt my fingers and I don't have any issues with actuation..but I carried it almost every day for 2-3 weeks and I fidget with knives constantly

@@Rollshambo thanks!
For a pocket knife, I prefer a four inch blade. 3 1/2 is a little short foe me. That half inch makes a huge difference for both cutting and self defense! That's why I carry the Cold Steel Voyager and Recon 1. That's just my pocket knife. You don't want to know what I carry on my hip. lol!
Harnds giant silkworm is amazing.
My budget knife of 2022 was the Petrified Fish Mini Beluga followed by the PF Victor.
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
I have a pf Victor incoming..looking forward to checking it out!
I have the Sasche it’s pretty good I really like the Ronin would prefer Micarta not a G10 guy but for the price not a problem what is a problem is you have an ambidextrous lock and no way to flip the clip that was shortsighted of them unfortunately and now I have to pass on a really cool extremely reasonably prices knife that I’m pretty sure I would dig! Like the blade shape as well PITY!
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
I really don't mind the g10 on this one..they did a good job of polishing and contouring so it has a great hand feel...also would not be opposed to micarta though..or ..and hear me out..aluminum with texturing

@@Rollshambo like Kizer does on the drop bear & escort I agree bro! Original Goat also does that to their aluminum scales had some on my 20.5. Really like that Ronin little bummed on the lefty clip
I own the CJRB Pyrite and yes it’s a great knife. But I have other knives in the same price range that are better. Mainly the Vosteed Raccoon. In my opinion, that should be the budget knife of the year. lol
@Hungrybird474
Жыл бұрын
I agree with you. The raccoon is beating all of them
I got a free tiger brand in the other day after waiting a month. It says D2 but who know. I do know that it's smooth as any other knife I have which I do have many. It's burlap micarta scales and dead centered. Will close with the slightest bump. $17
@rickyhurtt5568

Also it came razor sharp and has stayed that way for awhile now. I figure to for 50 to 2 or $300 it's worth hitting it on a ceramic rod every once in a while

Yes some brands have been caught out with mis-information regarding the steel they use. However, when buying a sub $25 knife you know it's not going to have a premium steel no matter what they say. As long as the build quality & action are ok and the blade can hold an edge for at least a reasonable amount of time, then I just shrug my shoulders and move on with life. A budget knife in your hand is better than a premium one in the store. Have a great day.
So true
Nice!
You're missing out on the Pyrite. I have both and it is far superior to the Sachse in every way. Better steel, fit, finish, fidget, action, and ergos
@Rollshambo

Yeah I've heard great things about the pyrite and it will definitely get its day on my channel its just a matter of time
Bestechman Ronan for me.
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
Such a solid knife
I really like the ronan but the designers played a joke on lanyard lovers with that lanyard post. You ain’t getting paracord around that post without taking the knife apart.
The Pyrite is a better knife in pocket, the Sachse is probably a bit better in hand. Why? The Pyrite is a THIN knife. The Sachse looks to have chunkier scales. I have a Pyrite, I LOVE it, and I'm almost certain to get another one.
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
Definitely going to need to get my hands on a pyrite ..but I have both the sachse and the Ronan and I gotta say the Ronan has better steel, better action, a backspacer and what feels like a more solid lock .the sachse is great for a sub 50$ button lock but in my subjective opinion while owning both the race is not close between the sachse an the ronan
Sounds justifiable to me 👍
from bestech to "bestechman"..that's seriously the dumbest name for a subbrand i've came across, who the heck thought that this was a good idea? ey man, it's a bestechman!😂 no but seriously, i dig the 14c28n and the design + axis-lock are really neat for the asked price. i still would pick the sachse over the b-man, a buttonlock with micarta and the usual civivi fit'n'finish is just awesome!👍
I don’t understand manufacturers using ambidextrous locking mechanisms, but only making it carriable on one side. 🙈
@Rollshambo
Жыл бұрын
Yeah I don't know why it doesn't have a reversible pocket clip either, it's too bad they didn't capitalize on the ambi lock by making it so that's for a sure a miss for the lefty community
@realbroggo
Жыл бұрын
All too often it comes down to cost and market demand. They design-in a crossbar lock because there is a big demand for it - from both lefties and righties. However, only 10-12% of the population are left handed so only a relatively small number of users want left sided action and/or pocket clips. Just how it is. (BTW I'm left handed and after 35+ years collecting I really share your frustration!) Have a great day.
What the quality of the budget knives nowadays, it Doesn't make any sense to spend over 60 - $70 !!! People spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars on everyday carry knives have more dollars than sense.
Can you buy the ronan yet?

The truth is there are so many great budget knives out there that it would be nearly (excluding the few channels that actually do this for a living) impossible to hit them all, I do try my best to get as many of the good ones as I can though, fingers crossed I don't make too many more blunders this year, cheers🤙
9cr18mov is a big step up from d2. Especially in terms of rust and stain resistance. Easier to sharpen and holds an edge just as well. Do some research.
@Rollshambo
Күн бұрын
9cr18 is a decent budget steel for corrosion resistance but falls short of d2 in other areas, my opinion on d2 vs 9cr is just an opinion though and while you my prize stainlessness in your applications I live in a dry climate so that property is less important to me...thanks for watching my older content and commenting, it's cool to see content from 2 years ago getting play time🍻
