I love the Speed 4, and it has my 10k PB. The Puma Velocity Nitro 2 is my favourite daily workhorse for Canadian winter running, and I'd have upgraded to the 3 already except the 2 is so durable and not showing any performance drop - I got something like 700k in my first pair, I'm 500k into my second pair, and I have a third pair that I got on sale waiting in my closet. And when I WAS a new runner, the Ride line from Saucony was what I used. So, my personal bias says "great picks!"

Ive always found the mizuno wave riders a good starting point. The new balance 880s too
I would toss in the Asics Cumulus, Hoka Clifton and the Nike Pegasus into the mix for new runners too. All great daily trainers! These shoes are great for new runners that could be used as a race day shoe too. Often new runners don't have a rotation or at most 2 shoes in their lineup!

Other than race day shoes Nike shoes are crap. The Pegasus has dropped off a lot. Wish the still made Pegasus turbo

If you Can fit your feer in Them, i Think the Puma V3 are the bees knees. Have the V2s and thet nevet let you Down
I think maybe throw the beginners in the deep end a bit and have them enjoy running with say the rebel v4 or the novablast v4.

Im doing my first marathon in july and currently have the asics kayano 29's. Just found out i have a slight case of plantar. Should i get a new pair with better cushioning?

New runners shouldn’t buy any of these shoes as they are the latest iterations at rip off prices. Far better to buy previous models for a fraction of the price 👍🏻

Tbh the ghost 16 since I’m coming back has been my go to because of the drop … it’s annoyingly good 🤣🤣🤣 still looks boring and I’d say buy the ghost max over it
