Saucony Ride 17 Vs Asics Novablast 4 | Which daily shoe gets our vote?

Спорт

The Novablast 4 sees some big changes from the previous version. The biggest of those is the new FF BLAST ECO PLUS foam that aims to provide a softer ride with more energy return when you want to pick up the pace. There’s also an updated shoe geometry that combines the trampoline-inspired midsole with a higher stack of midsole foam.
The Saucony Ride 17 receives a big update in the form of a new PWRRUN+ midsole - the same material used in the Triumph 21. This addition dramatically changes the experience of running in the Ride 17 to provide more cushioning, increased energy return and a smoother transition.
Tom, Kieran and Nick have been testing the shoes out to see how they compare.

That saucony beaded tpu foam is super durable in my experience; I am happy saucony are offering this now in their less expensive daily shoe.

I got the Novablast 4 for recovery, my feet have been taking a beating over the last couple of weeks of training and gotta say the shoe is fantastic in terms of comfort and they keep my legs ticking. For the price it is now one of my favorite purchases in a while.

Thanks for your comment. I'm specifically looking for a light highly cushioned recovery shoe; I have shoes that can cover the mid-faster paces (Saucony Tempus and Speed 2), but all the reviews talk about how well the shoes are capable at a variety of speeds

I'm going to try get my hands on the ride 17 when they are released. Novablast 4 could have been a game changer if they stuck with the bouncy midsole of V1.

Yes, I have been saying this for years, Novablast line has regressed ever since v1 which I loved having put it 1000km in those 😅 Glad Saucony has taken over that space with the Triumph series and now Ride 17

I'm waiting to try on the saucony ride 17 before deciding I've tried on the new balance 880 and want to compare as I like saucony shoes like the endorphin ranges.

Don’t have it myself but heard lots of good things from Kofuzi and Believe in the run. I’d check them out for reviews if you haven’t already

I tried them in 46 and my big toe is 0,5cm from the end of the shoe and the 46,5 was almost a thumb from the end.For 5-10 km you suggest going for 46.5?

Got Nb4 kind of disappointed but maybe with more break in time. They are not bad but just kind of there not harsh but not bouncy. My son’s ride 15 felt more plush and as an older version cost a lot less. NB4 are ok they just haven”t lived up to the hype for me. I expected a lot more cushion and energy return.

I'd love to get some feedback from anyone running in the Novablast 4. How many kilometres to break the shoes in? I've 3 runs in mine 5km, 8km and 10km and I'm absolutely hating them, don' t feel comfortable, not as much cushion as I expected, my Hoka Clifton 9 were great right out the box. Do I need to give the Novablast 4's a bit more time? Thanks.

Just read your comment and I only have 9 miles on mine and while I don’t hate them but yup they are stiff no cushion no energy return disappointing.

@@michaeldennis2630 I did give them a few more runs to see if they would break in, I believe another 30 or so miles, but gave up on them, definitely my most disappointing ASICS shoe, which says a lot as I exclusively ran in ASICS from 1986 to 2020.
