Lately, your intros are the highlight of your reviews. Great creativity and artistic sense. I think I liked your last one (with your best friend) the best! But not not only is the SM 300 a cool watch, I learnt something(s) that I didn't know before. That's why I keep coming back to your videos and anticipating the next one. btw, I am currently wearing a new (to me ) Omega Speedmaster Reduced. Love it! And thanks for turning me on to it. All the best.

Also, after seeing the end of the video, my favorite seamaster would have to be the only one I own. Which is a 1960s Seamaster Deville, given to me by my grandfather. He bought it back in the day for about 20 dollars.

Hi TGV - I'm a big Omega fan so this video was especially interesting to me. I have a 1954 Seamaster DeVille which is more of a dress watch as you said.I would like to eventually add a modern Seamaster to my collection but still saving for a Speedmaster presently. Thanks to Scott for sharing his watch. Cheers!

Hi, loving your in-depth watch reviews. Fell in love with the Explorer 1 after your review and have never regretted buying one. Took off the bracelet and attached a rugged leather strap. Love it. I’m contemplating a 1965 Omega Seamaster 166-0-324. After watching this review, Id like to send you the ad and I’d appreciated it if you could advise what questions to ask the seller if it’s not too much trouble. I understand it’s original condition but would appreciate your feedback nonetheless. Cheers David (Australia)

Great Article... I have been a fan of Omega 300 for about 30 years. I watched Watch grow in the 90's. Rather than a Watchco version, I was able to purchase an original( yes everything was verified as there are many fakes out there) at a reasonable price back then. The problem with it was the owner lost the lume on the dial and a watchmaker tried to relume it and did a very bad job. I bought the watch and purchased a service dial and hands... Left the bezel alone as it had a gouge taken out of it but it is still waterproof. Glad to see there is so much interest in this watch as the Omega Seamaster 300 and Rolex 5513 are my two favorite watches from the 60's

Aesthetically it’s the most beautiful Seamaster, I like it more than the new heritages Omega is making because of the bezel markers and the bezel looks more pronounced. I love the look of the bracelet if it were just updated with Omega’s newer clasp. This is how I think the newer heritages should look but with a 8400 movement 🧐

Correction for you at about 12:35. You mentioned that the original version was supplied with a "big triangle" (at 12 o'clock) dial rather than this one. Actually, the "big triangle" dial was issued with later post-1967 Seamaster 300 watches. The earlier ones from 1963 to early 1967 were supplied with dials that looked just like the NOS ones that are supplied in the Watchco version you see here.

Great intro - could be an ad for Omega! They should hire you. I've owned 2 Seamasters (if you consider the PO as a Seamaster). Love 'em. WIll own another (hmm, maybe a WatchCo!) in the future. Very nice of Scott to loan it to you. Yep, the WatchCo story is an interesting one. I'll give it the benefit of the doubt about being a true Omega. And yeah, the profile of the case is very cool indeed. I agree that it's a classic. I also think the PO brings it forward to the modern day. The PO has so many features that show heritage to this watch. Good review. Thanks TGV! Ciao, John

why not a review about the Seiko 55 fathom or SNZH, for many reasons - similar to this sea master, Sinn and Blanc Pain. Is my favorite watch and I bought because of your review of the Sinn. A great "Homage". My best!

Gorgeous watch! I'm really starting to appreciate acrylic and hesalite crystals. They're so old school and naturally anti-reflective. It appears to be a real Omega watch, no need for anyone to fuss about the fact that it's built from spare Omega parts. It's genuine.

Moin TGV, I like vintage watches a lot. But I hate to look at watches with scratched glasses, crumbled lume and rusty hands. So, NOS is best! ;) And I've got no problem to change the hands or a scratched glass with original parts. Therefore this Seamaster is a perfect alternative to an original. The only minor issue is the non-hacking movement. Best regards, Claus

+Claus-L. Müller (CLMac66) Thank you Claus, I take it you only buy new watches in that case? Cool comment, I must admit, I rather like an aged watch, I didn't at first, but vintage watches are growing on me. Best regards, TGV

A bit late in the day, all the negatives you mentioned are what make it appealing and desirable, I also believe that the earlier Seamaster 300s were rated to 200m and not 300m, confusing for sure but that’s what I’ve read in various articles. ✌🏼

As an Omega-aholic I have to say its a beautiful, elegant, sexy tool watch. I would love to own one. I don't have a problem with Watch co. either, but that acrylic crystal would drive me MAAAAAD AHHHH !

The acrylic crystals are the best. They give a watch a vintage feel like nothing else, and distortions of light are exquisite. Plus they're easy to take care of if you get a scratch -- a little polywatch and your crystal is perfect again.

My favorite Seamaster is the Aqua Terra 150 with the orange second hand. Also, I don't really see the acrylic crystal as a con. A little Polywatch will mend any scratches.

I had a vintage 165.024 and foolishly sold it. It's the most charming watch I've ever owned. I replaced it later on with a Seamaster 2254.5 which takes its styling cues from the vintage piece but if anything it just makes me want another SM300. Nothing wrong with the watchcos either IMO.
