Beutiful memories of that summer of 96, the Euros were in England, there was an air of expectancy. Crushed as usual, but this and other songs kept us sane. I was 25.

My go to at 16 was ELO, last train to London. Was in love with ELO. U2 as well. Can’t fill in my no 1 on my bucket list, nothing compares to you, fantastic Sinead, still not sure, there are too many fantastic British artists out there. My no 1 Beatles is Eleanor Rigby. I might count that in. Bit of pavorriti doesn’t go a miss depending on how yow you feel

Yep, searched for ROME first, then remembered the band name.

Its 2023 and this song still just wont get old. Who else fell in love with song as a child and is now obsessed with The Beautiful South? Going straight from here to "a little time"

Beautiful South have always had a satirical twist to their songs, and yet somehow they're still so feel good. They never got the fame and respect they truly deserve

This deserves more recognition,it didn't get enough at the time and still doesn't

Truly! Paul Heaton is a genius songwriter and musician

The thing i 💚 the most about the Beautiful South is how easy and understated they make it look..not flash or contrived...classics 💚👍

It's one of those songs that take me straight back to childhood 💙

The Beautiful South are timeless.

It's one of those songs that I wasn't a fan of at the time but can appreciate now as it takes me back to leaving school and entering the real world. That time in your life where everything is new and exciting to you and life seems full of potential.

Lived in Rotterdam years ago, Crazy Piano's (Bar) & those equally crazy cube houses by the library & the awesome little twists & turns with the cafes & restaurants by the water. Worked in Ridderkerk with great people, nice home life too, great times, I will always have a soft spot for her.

These songs remind me of being a kid in the 90s going long drives with my mum and dad

I started humming the song randomly but could only remember some fragments of the lyrics then finally googled Liverpool and Rome and it came up with the song. So much nostalgia. This song makes me happy. I’m 25 years old and really lucky to have been raised by music head parents. All sorts of songs was always playing in our house.

Another classic from the last king of pop .

My late mum loved this song. Good memories.
