More than 50 years later, it is still a great song, one of my all-time favorites.

My favourite song
I love John’s voice on this,
Another clever song written and sung by John with those beautiful harmonies from Paul and George. Just great music then and now!
This is one of my favorite John songs! This album is so experimental and creative. Elvis Costello said that Revolver is the album that every band is still trying to make today.

Bit of love for Magical Mystery Tour. Never gets mentioned and its a GREAT album.
It took George Harrison hours and hours perfecting his backwards guitar solo. It was well worth it as the Beatles were the first band to incorporate the reverse tape recording technique. Wonderful reaction Cimdy, RNB

We should thank The Beatles for breaking so much ground and redefining what's possible in popular music. There were other artists doing "weird" stuff at that time, but when the most popular pop-band in the world (which iniciated a movement that pretty much elipsed everything else going on in music at that time) incorporates these type of techniques, it creats tendencies. Think of Revolution 9 for example - Most people are not interested in exploring avant-garde music by composers like Varese or Stockhausen, but when The Beatles made an avant-garde piece inspired by those artists, millions of people were instantly exposed to a sonic experience they've never had before. These type of things make The Beatles such an interesting and highly artistic band.

@@urivan9613 Your very astute comment reminds me of a quote which Bowie had of John Lennon. I am paraphrasing but it's something like "(John) was fantastic at creating a very abstract notion of art and making it accessible to the masses." Yes, I always laugh when some people refer to the Beatles as only a 'pop' band. Their interest and application of Stockhausen and Cage was something that still isn't successfully done as artistically (and commercially) as they did 50 years ago, yet alone fully understood.

False. He taped it FORWARD; the tape was run backward. Read George Martin's "All You Need is Ears" so you have a basis in FACT.

@@jnagarya519 Is this a joke??? Of coarse he "taped it FORWARD'.(your emphasis,) Did you read the sentence that followed? It states, 'the first band to incorporate the reverse tape recording technique'. Just as John Lennon sang "When the rain comes, they run and hide their heads. Rain' was recorded ('taped') forward and then reversed. The difference being George Martin used the first line of Johns prerecorded first verse vocal in Rain, copied it and reversed it for the songs outro. . Whereas George Harrison wrote down the I'm Only Sleeping solo chord pattern (beats and all), then reversed the chord sequence (beats and all). He composed a guitar solo over this new inverted chord sequence, prior to recording his guitar solo. Though he discovered it was far trickier than he originally anticipated to record (tape). Thus taking nearly a full day to nail down what is essentially a 10 second guitar solo, 2 short riffs in the 2nd verse and the songs trippy outro fadeout. I hope this clarifies things for you @J N, RNB.
Great songs like this are one of the reasons why Revolver is often rated the greatest album of all time.

I love that backwards masked guitar solo in the middle of the song
I love John's voice in this song!
Greatest band in history, they changed the world. Gods.
Best Beatles song ever. It's simple but so good. You really want to lie down. The music fits the lyrics so well. The lazy tempo, the flowing backward guitars
One of my favorite Beatles songs.

You have a beautiful smile 😍😃. That song is beautiful 😍❤💜💕💗💖.
The best thing about this Beatles song is it showcases how well they could do anything they wanted to with music! They were so clever and creative, the world has never seen their like and they are still relevant more than half a century after breaking up! Every other band in the history of the world can only hope to be called the second best ever! For yet another side to this great band please try Being For The Benefit of Mr. Kite - you've never heard anything like it! Continued success to you with your great channel!!

Beautiful Cimdy
I love your smile 🤩 Cimdy.. I love the sound though..
Oh Darling.. Beatles
The Beatles understood music theory, they did not know the terms used in academia, but they each understood what sounded good from their souls.
Always love your reactions here
more nice music
I heard Paul came over with a new idea and John was still in bed. That's how I fell Saturday mornings.
Ringo's drumming makes it happen.

She said, She said.
Beautiful lyrics well put together. Pure tune.
John Lennon was known for being kinda lazy and sleeping a lot. In an article published months before Revolver (which includes this song and is my favourite album ever) was released, a friend of John wrote: "He can sleep almost indefinitely, is probably the laziest person in England." John replied: "Physically lazy," "I don't mind writing or reading or watching or speaking, but sex is the only physical thing I can be bothered with any more." However, the idea of staying in bed seems to be almost a philosophical thing for him: "Everybody seems to think I'm lazy I don't mind, I think they're crazy Runnin' everywhere at such a speed 'Til they find there's no need" That's a philosophical statement. Also I should mention the famous "Bed-ins for Peace" with his wife Yoko Ono, which were intended to be nonviolent protests against wars, and experimental tests of new ways to promote peace. Musically speaking, the song is really beautiful. It's sonically very avant-garde (like many of the stuff they made at the time), especially the then-unique sound of a reversed guitar that perfectly fits the dreamlike mood of the song. Also, John's vocal delibery is just awesome.

Though John Lennon gets much credit for being the Beatle who wrote songs considered to be outside the box. (Tomorrow Never Knows/ Hey Bulldog/Revolution 9/You Know My Name/What's The New Mary Jane and Dig A Pony) It was Paul who listened to Stockhausen and hung out with Robert Fraser and Miles. It was Paul who introduced the tape loops for Tomorrow Never Knows (as well as doing a great Ringo impression on You Know My Name :-) Just thought I'd throw Paul a little love for his contributions to the growth of the Beatles sound. Not to mention, John may never have met Yoko Ono with out Paul's artsy pals connections.. Pals that John Lennon detested. Take care U Z, RNB
Try reacting to "You're going to lose that girl" and "I'll get you". They're two of my faves. I think you'd like these.
This is one of the Beatles first turn-on tracks and a exploration of psychedelia. 😀 Definitely inspired by experimentation with acid. A good companion piece to this would be Love You To by Harrison from the same album.
This is one of my very favorite Beatles songs. The backwards guitar is psychedelic as all get out. And Ringo's drumming has never been better and I think his drumming here is classic Beatles. So unique. Paul's bass is fantastic as always. I just love this song, in my top ten of Beatles songs which is saying a lot because there is such competition for the top ten! LOL
Keep reacting to all the "unknown" Beatles songs. You are about to help change the world with your Beatle reactions. Bravo!!!!!
Very cute reaction
Good Morning Beatiful Have a Blessed Day
Ringo starr on drums. An absolutely amazing drummer. The human metronome.
Thank you for a great review love, your insights and thoughts on music are the best! I must say Revolver and Rubber Soul were always my favourite albums. Back in the day I was always embarrassed to say that because Sgt Peppers is supposedly their best or the White Album or Abbey Road but for me it was these two. Cheers! Love from British Columbia, 🇨🇦
I'm a fairly new subscriber and this is on a list of 50 other songs as my FAVORITE Beatles song the difference being a lot of people don't know this song but the whole "Revolver" album was really really GOOD!!
This is a goal musiz 💃💃💃💃🥂
Let it be is awesome too
John singing about being spaced out on acid and bong hits etc. This song's partner is on Side 2 of the White Album "I'm So Tired." Both John Lennon. Both awesome. Btw Love your reactions. Beatles were Master's of backwards dubbing. You are showing yourself to be a fan of John Lennon. Big tragedy the night (December 8, 1980) when he was assassinated. He was shot in the back 5 times. Like JFK John never had a chance. At the beginning of Exam Week for me and my friends at Central Michigan University. Oh well, kinda couldn't stop myself this post. 🙂
"Uh oh...." Probably my first reaction to this album when I was about 9.
Love you
You have a lot of Beatles collections gurl.this one has good beats too sound good and nice reaction as usual
Like the older sound of it cool girl
My geng geng I love all your reactions ❤️
Best song on Revolver in my opinion.
Great analysis! Love that you did some homework before commenting!
This songs is familiar to me.. But have forgotten.. They sang so nice.. Thumbs up sis
john was in a crisis .. of love .. I want to sleep to forget my pain 🍞
Dozens more Beatles songs await you
Cimdy, great appreciation again. If you really want to dig deep into the Beatles' growth and development around the time of Revolver take a listen to John Cage or Karlheinz Stockhausen. The Beatles were big fans of theirs and they incorporated a lot of the 'non-structure' into their own music.
Nice reaction Cimdy.
Hey great video may you have a wonderful day
Damn you really getting in to some obscure Beatles numbers
Great reaction- you're beautiful!! For those uninformed, when John Lennon sings about 'Lying there and staring at the ceiling- waiting for a sleepy feeling', he's not just talking about an afternoon nap, kids. Lysergic acid diethylamide.
Hint: "And Your Bird Can Sing".
When lsd sings you a lullaby
Hey Cimdy! ❤
John, probably drugged up, Ha, Ha, just lying there and staring at the ceiling. So John, my favorite character ever! That little backwards guitar solo by George he actually played it backwards. He could have just played it normal and then just run the tape backwards. This took him over seven hours to prefect and the other three got bored waiting on him and went home. John always the impatient one asked him what the fu_k was he doing. Could you hear John in that Liverpool accent ? Hilarious ! Take care, 💕☮️
My favourite John Lennon song, apart from "Paperback Writer", "She Said, She Said", "Girl", "The Continuing Saga of Bungalow Bill"... I think you get what I'm saying.
