I will go ahead and say The Beatles were THE Best Band that ever existed. No one has come close to the depth and breadth of their work in 50 years. Granted, I am a huge Beatle fan, I even spent a week in Liverpool many years ago.

This album was their last together. The "You Never Give me Your Money" part you asked about was that during the album before this they had fought over who would be their manager, and that was basically over money. So the sadness in the song is over where they ended up when they had been such good friends. " You only give me your funny paper" equals contracts, court documents that only lawyers understand. The song then goes back like a movie to Paul's memories of when he joined the group " Out of college money spent see no future pay no rent" it then transforms back to the present as he fantasizes of when he leaves the group" One sweet dream pick up the bags...soon we'll be away from here step on the gas and wipe that tear away." Toward the end of the album there is another song where Paul talks about "Carrying that weight" of being the one to walk away first and break up the Beatles...that song then brings in a Coda (sort of) that returns you to the tune of " You Never Give Me Your Money" to remind you of where it started, and what he is talking about. Oh...and yes; the Beatles are the greatest musical group ever. Listen to all their work from beginning to end. There will be no doubt that they are in your minds.

Actually they all quit the band at one point of the other due to internal squabbling but after a few days would get back.Paul was the last one to quit mostly due to the other three wanting Allen Klein to manage them turned out he was right as later all three of the others cut ties with Klein.

In the Beatles' heyday a fan climbed into Paul McCartney's bathroom window while he wasn't home. I guess she stole some things and he let her have them all except for something she took of sentimental value. That is the story I heard about the song: "She came in through the bathroom window."

The great Paul McCartney medley at the end of Abbey Road is a true Magnum Opus. A glorious string of unfinished songs from Golden Slumbers to The End. His great farewell as a Beatle, in many ways: "And in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make"

Golden Slumbers That’s Paul, apparently from a poem he found in a book, some eighteenth-century book where he just changed the words here and there. John Lennon The song’s lyrics were taken from a ballad by the Elizabethan poet and dramatist Thomas Dekker (1570-1632). Paul McCartney saw the sheet music on the piano at his father’s home in Heswall on the Wirral. I was playing the piano in Liverpool in my dad’s house, and my stepsister Ruth’s piano book was up on the stand. I was flicking through it and I came to ‘Golden Slumbers’. I can’t read music and I couldn’t remember the old tune, so I just started playing my own tune to it. I liked the words so I kept them, and it fitted with another bit of song I had.

The "Bathroom" girl is Diane Ashley. To the left behind the zebra stripe on the cover is the (Abbey Road) studio of the Beatles, which was often besieged by fans, when the Beatles were working there. Paul McCartney has a house there about 5 minutes away, Diane and some other fans went to McCartney's bathroom window, which was open and Diane climbed in ... and opened the front door for her friends ... This is not quite the original version. "Her majestey" is the end of the medley. Somebody mixed it up, like the Beatles originally planned, but then they put it together into a more logical version. The difference isn't that bad, though. The essence of the medley is also preserved in this "Restored Version". "Sun King" is in spanish and is just meaningless. They just put a few chunks of language, they knew in spanish. "You never give me your money" has in its broadest sense to do with the business problems, that arose, when their manager Brian Epstein died in 1967. These problems were one of the decisive factors, that led to the much-lamented separation of the Beatles in 1970. It's a long, long story in the Beatles history, much described, much discussed.

This is, and isn't, the Abbey Road medley. Released on the 50th Anniversary edition of the album in 2019, this is The Beatles first rough edit of its various parts to see how well they fitted together as a whole, done on 30 July 1969. First thing they did was cut out "Her Majesty" because they felt it spoilt the flow (it was attached to the end of the tape after a period of silence, becoming one of the first hidden tracks on an album). Then there was another month of vocal and instrumental overdubs on the tracks, and working on making the transitions smoother. Of all the farewells to the 1960s that were recorded around that time, this is surely the most beautiful. All the lads are wonderful here, but it is surely McCartney's final masterpiece before they broke up. Not liking this music is like not liking the sky.

Instead of listening to this piece of crap "Medley," why not listen to the "Original" Abbey Road Album itself? I mean if you wanted to appreciate a "Picasso," wouldn't you want to be looking at an "Original" as opposed to a "Collage" put together from Original Pieces?!" Same thing here... this is not a good thing.

They had to talk Ringo into doing that drum solo. He was very shy.

"You never give me your money - you only give me your funny paper." At the time Paul was at loggerheads with the other Beatles over the management of Alan Klein, who McCartney though was a crook. In the negotiations, no money was being put on the table for the Beatles but more paperwork, contracts and agreements - hence that line. Eventually McCartney was proved right and the other Beatles ended up suing Klein. Source "Many Years From Now".

Klein was a crook. He managed the Rolling Stones and set up a R. Stones company in New York. He siphoned off money from the UK operation and the Stones never saw it again. And that's why they located to France - for tax reasons. In France they recorded Exile On Main Street.

In my mind the medley is a character driven story about a men fooling around with a bevy of very different different women he never intends to marry and one of them becoming pregnant. "You Never Give Me your Money" describes his relationship with one. "Sun King" describes a fling with a girl in a another country in which he was treated special as a foreigner and spoke sweet nothings to her in her language. "Mean Mr. Mustard" is a girl caring for her crazy father, "Polythene Pam" a shop saleswoman, and "She Came in Through the Bathroom Window" a strung out stripper. He struggles with the unwelcome reality of becoming a father. The soft "Golden Slumbers" lullaby is punctuated by the loud angry choruses describing his flipflopping attitudes. "Carry That Weight" depict his angst at becoming financially responsible for the child until frown. "The End" has Paul, George, and Joan trading guitar solo segments round and round depicting emotions from outright anger to soring optimism, finally resolving into the peaceful realization, probably at the time of the child's birth, of that beautiful final lyric: "And in the end, the love you take, is equal to the love you make." To me the Abbey Road Medley is the Beatles Magnum Opus.

I heard it said on a radio program that "You Never Give Me Your Money" was literally about the band's financial situation, and how they weren't being paid for their work. It was a song complaining to their financiers.

Carry That Weight was all 4 members singing.

A lot of people make a big deal when John Lennon referred to this 'medley' as junk. Essentially, that's exactly what it was. It was a collection of unfinished songs that they laying around. Their band relationship was pretty much no longer cohesive. They weren't really getting along well, John wanted out of the band and George had mentioned several times that he'd rather be doing other things than being stuck in a studio (he'd already left once during the recording of the 'White Album'. But after the debacle that was the 'Get Back' sessions, they decided to try for one more really good album. Apparently they didn't have enough completed songs so they took the junk and knitted it together. Unfortunately, this is not the original version, but it will suffice. The first track, 'You Never Give Me Your Money', is actually all of their legal woes put into pleasant music. After the death of their original manager they decided to go into business for themselves and created Apple, Corp. It didn't go well. The Beatles were not businessmen and were naive. Their different business philosophies clashed, when they bothered to apply them, otherwise they were too lazy to mind the store. Lots of lawsuits, broken dreams, and eventually the end of the group. The rest of the 'medley' is pretty much the junk that John referred to. Others here have noted the origin of 'She Came In Through The Bathroom Window'. 'Golden Slumbers' originated when Paul saw a piece of sheet music on a piano. Since he couldn't read or write music, he couldn't play the sheet music. He loved the lyrics and kept them which is what you end up with here. Then it dives back into incidental junk, a reprise of 'You Never Give Me Your Money', the one and only drum solo from Ringo (who had to be pressured into doing it), then an instrumental where Paul, George and John (respectfully) each take turns playing lead guitar....and lastly 'the love you make....' etc. The last thing the band as a group sang to their fans. They came in on top and went out the same. A fitting end to the best ever.

When my wife and I saw perform this live, at the end we were both crying. Always thought it was sad that John Lennon said he hated this.

Sadly, it was,John Lennon's voice you were hearing on most of those songs. His voice is in the top 20 voice of al time. If you would like to here more of his best songs, listen to IMAGINE, considered the best song wishing for world peace ever written. Then listen to A DAY IN THE LIFE...This one will send you, just wait and see. Then, if you want, KZread has an interview with George Martin, The Beatles producer who says he can remember the day John recorded it just like it was yesterday then begins to cry because John was murdered by a mentally ill fan who first asked John to sign his album! So, so sad.

In 2001 Giles Martin accidently reversed it for LOVE and it became Gnik Nus as a result!

Golden Slumbers was a lullaby' to Julian.

They were about to break up and there were tensions "in the middle of negociations I break down"...they were arging about managers

In this medley they were talking about the disolution of the group. Paul was anoyed saying "You never give me your money" because he wanted to control the money of the group with her wife. Linda Eastman family business, and the other members did not want. They sing "You´re gonna carry that weight a long time" to Paul, as he was going to leave the group. And the last song is "The end" in which each of them plays a "solo" of different guitars and Ringo of Drums. It was the announce that they were going to begin their 4 "solo" career. They went with Alan Klein at John's request because he was managing the Stones. The Stones didn't know he was ripping them off. Paul wanted Linda's father, George Eastman, to manage the band. Klein was but one of many managers who stole from performers and this goes back many years. If you could ask Liza Minnelli she'd tell you how two of them swindled her mother, Judy Garland, of all her earnings. These crooks had one thing in common. I'll leave it at that.

The original album version is, in my opinion, the better mix. Iconic medley.

There is one thing that if I don't know something it's okay but I just remember the original album the song Her Majesty was put on the very end and I always thought that was the perfect place for it this was the 50th Anniversary Edition so there was that change up there when you know Paul McCartney song You Never Give Me Your Money you give me your funny papers what it means is in the newspaper they had the comics and those were the funny papers here's a little odd side note Eric Clapton plays on My Guitar Gently Weeps he was in a band called cream in the 60s there was the drummer whose name is Ginger Baker now he was quite the character somebody asked him do you think that Ringo Starr is not a very good drummer and he said don't say anything bad about Ringo that guy is amazing no Ginger Baker played with someone in Africa is named is Fela kuti maybe you have heard of him all right you two it's such a joy to watch you to react to this legendary music I will be there for your next video for sure

Geoff Emerick removed Her Majesty from the medley and Paul told him to throw it away,but he was given the notice to throw NOTHING Out! so what to do? He put it at it's end instead and it worked but it wasn't in the track list on the cover.

It was not Geoff Emerirck that did this but another engineer named John Kurlander that did this.

I don't know who uploaded the medley you listened to but it is incorrect. The song Her Magesty is the very last song on the album and for some inexplicable reason it appears here in the middle of the medely and breaks the flow.

The managers would only give the Beatles enough to live. So, they complained, "You Never give me your money". But they never asked for specific number. Instead, the managers gave them written promises (funny paper). Then, suddenly, they were rich, riding limousines and off on vacation.

It's "Here Comes The Sun King."

Congrats on your number of subscribers, it shouldn't be long before you hit the 2K level. Could I make a few suggestions though? The webcam looks very foggy, it does look like your house is filled with smoke LOL Maybe try and upgrade as soon as you can, or it could be the lens just needs a wipe? It would be better if you can set the camera up so you're both looking at the lens, rather than looking to your right at what you can see on your own screen. Once you know you're framed up okay, it's much more engaging to look directly at your viewers. Maybe set the screen up in front of you both with the camera directly behind and above it. The image effects that you sometimes add aren't necessary, we want to see your facial reactions too which the effects mask, it's as important as hearing your comments. Sorry, I don't know your names, but lady I love your wonderful enthusiasm and I hear you clear, but feller, I miss your occasional comment as you are only speaking very softly at your wife and not at us, and most of what you say is being lost. My father always used to say when people spoke in public, if they can't hear you at the back, you're wasting your time. You don't really need to project much with a microphone, but you do need to speak towards it and maybe not in quite such a mono tone. I realise you may be a quiet person and it's not a natural thing to do, I am quiet myself by nature, but this venture requires a bit more upbeat presentation, even if you don't feel that way inside. I really hope you don't mind, and will take these suggestions in the good spirit intended, it would really improve the experience for everyone I'm sure. Peace, and I look forward to more reactions.

Both not true.

The idea of reacting to a song doesn't mean reacting to it during the song. It means listening, then, after it's over you give your reaction. The fact is, you can't talk and listen at the same time.

I actually prefer when people react over the song rather than pause 20 times. As long as they aren't talking constantly. If I want to hear a song uninterrupted I don't put on a reaction video

Agreed. My favourite reaction videos are the ones where the person reacting doesn't do anything until they've heard the song. Also, m favourite reaction videos are ones where the person reacting is reacting honestly and not because they think they have to react to make the video more watchable. It's more watchable when they just listen to the song and give and honest response at the end. It would also be nice if they weren't usually reactions to very predictable bands like Pink Floyd, The Beatles and Led Zeppelin. Where are the reactions to LA Woman or MC5? :)

John Lennon made up those quasi-Hispanic lyrics. Just FYI. As an old Beatlemaniac that's heard Abbey Road a zillion times, I'll never like Her Majesty being inserted (or 're-inserted') between Mean Mr.Mustard and Polythene Pam, well, maybe not! haha

Her Majesty is the last track on the album. Don’t know why this person stuck it in the middle.

I know, right ? I've had the sequence of these songs memorized since the 1960's, so it's been throwing me off lately to hear "Her Majesty" shoved in the middle, which is not where it was meant to be.

@@DavidGigg This a bonus on the 50th anniversary edition of Abbey Road, showing the original sequence. Paul told them to cut Her Majesty and discard. The engineer couldn't just throw it away so he stuck it on the tail end. Paul liked the accident and kept it as a coda.

Unfortunately , this was the version we came across on KZread and we LOVED IT SOO MUCH. THE BEATLES WERE THE BEST!!!

The money funny papers reference is referring to Alan Klein and his management of the Beatles. Paul hated him.
