The Battle Hymn of the Republic - The United States Army Chorus

Музыка

Here's one of the most popular pieces in our repertoire, "The Battle Hymn of the Republic". For more information on The United States Army Band "Pershing's Own", please visit us at our website, or any of the social media channels below.
Music: William Steffe
Text: Julia Ward Howe
Setting: Peter J. Wilhousky
Conductor: Captain Curtis Kinzey
Lyrics:
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord;
He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored;
He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword;
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps;
They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps;
I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps,
His day is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea,
With a glory in His bosom that transfigures you and me;
As He died to make men holy, let us die to make men free!
While God is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah!
His truth is marching on.

    @@Maytag_warriorfreedom around the world. We already have freedom in the U.S. But for Hitler and his supporters were a threat to our freedom and other countries. Remember Japan attacked us in Pearl Harbor cause we stopped trading with them. Japan started invading Guam and other American territories. After the attack on Pearl Harbor on Dec 7, 1941. Of course we took them back. Guam is still American territory The Philippines used to be ruled by America then I believe in 1946 we let them be. Sorry if I sound a bit rude.

    And I'm going to play the video again, this time with earphones on. The blending of the men's deep, rich voices with such clear, concise orchestration is delightful. I suppose the dead composer and the long-gone members of the Army Chorus, seen in the vid performing the now-sensitive final verse, on the Capitol steps, have goosebumps.

    @@jtdb479 . The Bible said SuperGodSr ripped out one of Adam's ribs, then shouted 'ABRACADABRA!' and the rib turned into a human. Adam then married his own rib, and marriage was defined as a man and his own rib. The Bible said they could even make their own riblets with the help of Jesus. Then Adam’s rib couldn't stop talking so Adam went to his man-cave for some peace and quiet, thus creating the first caveman. That’s why the Bible said Adam’s ribs must be quiet in Church because men are naturally smarter than ribs! The Bible said Adam and his descendants even enjoyed barbecuing ribs for SuperGodSr. That’s why men still love barbecuing in their backyard at their altar for their very own blood sacrifices. The Bible said Aaron and Moses had a wooden stick turn into a living snake. After it was over, they put the magic wood in the Ark of the Covenant and saved it for later. Geppetto was able to carve Pinocchio with the magic wood. Biblical archaeologists are able to show that Geppetto and Pinocchio survived in the belly of a Great fish thereby confirming, according to Biblical scholars, the Bible is true. The Bible said SuperGodSr’s rocket ship sped through star-studded space, entered naive teenager Mary, while landing safely on Earth with its precious burden: SuperGodSr’s sole survivor, Jesus Christ! A passing Joseph found the uninjured child and took SuperGodJr home and then didn't have sex with naive teenager Mary. As the years went by and the child grew to maturity, He found himself possessed of Amazing Physical and Mental Powers. Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. The infant of SuperGodSr is now the Man of Steel: SuperGodJr! To best be in a position to use His Amazing Powers in a never-ending battle for Truth and Justice, SuperGodJr has assumed the disguise of Jesus Christ, mild-mannered Sky Reporter for the Great American busybody and Town Gossip Association. They are assembled as Church ‘Space Cadets’! At these meetings people love to give away their money to hear these Bronze Age tribal stories in the 21st Century. If a person believes all of these tribal stories that person can respawn into eternal Bliss, for a weekly donation of course. It’s a PROVEN FACT that the night before His cruci-fiction, Jesus was in the garden praying, "Dad, DAD! Do You hear ME? Wake-up! It's ME - YOU, Jesus! What are YOU doing? I need to catch up on the latest gossip. Are YOU still helping people find their oxcart keys?" The Bible is TRUE because the Bible SAID it’s TRUE and the Bible SAID it can’t LIE, so that makes the Bible A PROVEN FACT! Why do these non-believers deny these PROVEN FACTS? It's as plain as the nose on Pinocchio's face. These non-believers are in serious denial of this reality. That’s why the Bible’s authors wrote with the magic wood that SuperGod is Three Pinocchios in One carved Pinocchio. These non-believers of SuperGod need to WAKE UP! We pray the Holy Ghost 👻 will convince them BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE! Don’t let THE FINAL BARBECUE catch you by surprise! Now the Christians say, "Look: Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! It's SuperGod! YES! It's SuperGod, strange visitor from another dimension who came to Earth with powers and abilities far beyond those of mortal men. SuperGod, who can change the course of mighty rivers, bend steel with His bare hands, and Who, disguised as Jesus Christ, mild mannered Sky Reporter for the Great Metropolis of Bethlehem, fights a never-ending battle for Truth, Justice, and the “American Way!” Draft dodger 'bone spurs' Trump with his Army of white nationalists said so.

    @Logan Hammett Logan, You are the reason why i am glad to be a DEMOCRAT. You MAGA Idiots know nothing about this song. The reason for a Republic is to free ourselves from a typical TYRANT of a person SIMILAR to the one we have Today, named King George III, A madman who preferred Himself and Power over Peace and Freedom. A Republic means a Government and Country in the form of a President. It doesn't mean in the form of the Republican Party you dumbfuck. The reason for this song was to uplift The American Republic from TYRANTS who now addresses Your Party Today, as secessionists in the Civil War. Those who defend America stand for this hymn, Those who believe in The South and The Confederacy doesn't stand with this hymn. If you still don't get My Liberal Foot of a message then you better take that MAGA Ass back to school and learn what America truly is, And how it can overwrite Your side of Patriotism and bring REAL Patriotism closer together, This country needs this song more than ever now these days!!!

I’ll tell ya what, as heartbreaking as it was to lose him so young and without warning, his funeral was one hell of a showcase of choral beauty. Just stunning. Did I mention there were over 500 people in attendance? He touched so many lives - we miss you Mike!

A good many of the people in my small church have roots going back decades before the Civil War. Suppose that you were sitting down at this table. The napkins are in front of you, which napkin would you take? The one on your ‘left’? Or the one on your ‘right’? The one on your left side? Or the one on your right side? Usually you would take the one on your left side. That is ‘correct’ too. But in a larger sense on society, that is wrong. Perhaps I could even substitute ‘society’ with the ‘Universe’. The correct answer is that ‘It is determined by the one who takes his or her own napkin first.’ …Yes? If the first one takes the napkin to their right, then there’s no choice but for others to also take the ‘right’ napkin. The same goes for the left. Everyone else will take the napkin to their left, because they have no other option. This is ‘society’… Who are the ones that determine the price of land first? There must have been someone who determined the value of money, first. The size of the rails on a train track? The magnitude of electricity? Laws and Regulations? Who was the first to determine these things? Did we all do it, because this is a Republic? Or was it Arbitrary? NO! The one who took the napkin first determined all of these things! The rules of this world are determined by that same principle of ‘right or left?’! In a Society like this table, a state of equilibrium, once one makes the first move, everyone must follow! In every era, this World has been operating by this napkin principle. And the one who ‘takes the napkin first’ must be someone who is respected by all. It’s not that anyone can fulfill this role… Those that are despotic or unworthy will be scorned. And those are the ‘losers’. In the case of this table, the ‘eldest’ or the ‘Master of the party’ will take the napkin first… Because everyone ‘respects’ those individuals.

    I was in a sea of soldiers 3 million strong and 2/3rds of them are now dead and for what??? I realize now the futility of wars and all that goes along with it. War made me a killer but peace has not yet healed my soul. It's been more than 50 years ago but I still smell the aroma of burning flesh and can still hear men screaming in pain. The part I do not understand is the pride I had and lost of my experience. What was I so proud of...the killing or my overcoming the fear it took to be able to kill. You that have not stepped into the arena war are as innocent as fresh snow. You have no regrets or demons. Please don't tell me you understand when there is no possible way you could.
