The Basics of Good Project Management

This lecture is brought to you by the CalSouthern School of Business (www.calsouthern.edu/business) in partnership with the Project Management Institute’s Orange County chapter (www.pmi-oc.org/).
Presenter: Greta Blash
Description:
Project management is a discipline that is in great and ever-increasing demand-across all industries and at business organizations of all sizes. It is so ubiquitous now that it has evolved from a specialized technical skill to a life skill.
Despite its wide proliferation, there remain key concepts that apply to all projects, regardless of size or budget. In this lecture, Greta Blash will outline these key principles to help attendees understand what is involved in successfully managing a project, from initiating and planning, to monitoring and controlling the effort, and, ultimately, to the final completion of the project.
This lecture will be a special presentation of CalSouthern’s Master Lecture Series brought to you in partnership with The Project Management Institute’s Orange County chapter.
Bio:
Greta Blash has extensive experience as an executive and consulting IT professional, both domestically and internationally. Her areas of experience include program management, project management, agile scrum development with emphasis in the areas of system implementations and conversions, customer relationship management, data warehousing and business intelligence.

    It's amazing that she said her weakness was procrastination which is one of the worse traits to have as a PM. But she still somehow became very successful. This goes to show that even those people who have weaknesses or traits that they think do not qualify as being a PM can be very successful regardless.

    SoCal School of Business, thanks for filming, saving and posting what has to be among the most insightful project management conceptual presentations in the world. Greta Blash really breaks these project management concepts down to a common lame person interpretational style so that just anyone who is seriously considering starting or presenting the grounds for starting a project has an assortment of beginning, mid-term, near end-term, and final term phases of how to keep the project operating with a end goal in mind.

    If you live in a enlarge boxed like a 1 bedroom unit and do not venture out of it too often you might start thinking that you have all the answer about the do's and don'ts of a project that you conceive on your own while in there, but of course, listening to this Cal-Southern School of Business lecture given by Greta Blash puts a different spin on that whole idea. She meticulously and single handily goes thru a series of successive steps explaining pitfalls, what is needed, and communication standards that have to practiced in order to get a project started and operating. She even doses her presentations with personal facts and figures, and experiences from working on projects assignments to illustrate circumstances and situations a project manager needs to weave together to keep a project alive and breathing.

    By far the best resource on the youtube. I am just staring my PMP journey and I was looking for something like this to grasp the content. Needless to say that most of other courses available are taught in a boring style and fail to give the feel about the subject. So, we need to memorize it all to appear in the exam. Not sure why it is not taught using case study method. Could have been much easier that way!!

  • @AkshayKumar10xTech

    @AkshayKumar10xTech

    Using a case study method could indeed enhance understanding and retention of the material. While some courses may focus on memorization, seeking resources that engage learners with real-world examples can facilitate a deeper understanding of project management concepts. Wishing you success on your PMP exam preparation!

The stake holders are around my community. Thank God i don't write in detail who is going to send me to india which organizations or company will help me to sponsor me . your advice is accurate so much to me ma. My green card was expire that stopped my travel by then. Now my passport here is ready. God blessed you. I am making my planing soundly.
