    Hey Eyeame :) It's a ceremony unlike any other and truly transformative. And like I mentioned in the video, EVEN if you don't do Ayahuasca, just incorporating some of the Diet into your weekly eating routine will have profound effects as well as integrating the 3 Eating Guidelines I shared :). The no salt is a NOT a game but olives and limes are great replacement for that :)

    You're welcome and thank you for watching and commenting. There is an age requirement for the group I journeyed with, however while in Peru, the shamans shared that in their indigenous culture, the young also work with Mama Aya. The idea is that she's an Earth elder who can work with anyone. However, for Westerners who are not accustomed to the medicine, most groups only journey with adults. And yesssss, Saturn and Big Momma energies definitely pull their wisdom from her. Mama Aya is the MotherShip!

  • @13BD

    I am almost 2 weeks into my dieta, it has been very hard, VERY VERY hard because I am the complete opposite, I ate junk regularly and have been for years. No salt and no seasoning really took its toll on me and I didn't know how to eat healthy I guess. I only had salads which is practically water so I was light headed, feeling faint and nauseous all the time. Also my gut health was doing a complete 180 on me. I wish I looked into recipes and made healthy food delicious like what you were served at the retreat. I did give myself a little wiggle room because the dieta was so hard on me, such as using Italian salad dressing (low sodium, olive oil etc) but it has a bit of garlic and onions in the dressing (EVERYTHING has a bit of onions and garlic lol). I only use a tablespoon, but there was a feeling of guilt. I had to forgive myself and recognize I have been sacrificing and made a massive dietary change as it is. I'd say I am 95% in adherence to dieta, I really gave it my all and I hope everything will be okay with my first ceremony this Friday! Thanks for the video!!

  • @TheMindfulPlate

    @TheMindfulPlate

    11 ай бұрын

    I love this share! So many ppl who are doing the dieta for the first time can identify! Kudos to you for making the sacrifice and preparing yourself! Ayahuasca is more concerned with our intention and efforts and less concerned about our perfection. Where we falter she will heal in ceremony. You doing 95% of the dieta and your gut having gone through those changes is a great sign that you’re ready for your ceremony! I wish you all the best. Also here’s a tip. When you’re in ceremony, ask her to help guide you on your eating habits afterwards. Once you take Ayahuasca so much shifts in your microbiome and body. And she can help you integrate more healthy eating choices to sustain you afterwards.

    Yes, that's how I felt. I would have temporary results with juice cleanses and water fasts. However, since my connection/addiction to sugar was emotionally rooted, those cleanses never really addressed the emotional root causes. Mama Aya is so powerful that she cleansed it entirely from my body so it was no longer a physical craving AND she helped me get to the root and DEAL with the emotional connection. I'm proud to say that I no longer have cravings.

  • @TheMindfulPlate

    @TheMindfulPlate

    7 ай бұрын

    I’m not sure what Sapo is. Is that the same as Kambo? (Frog medicine). Either way, I suggest doing what feels best. I sat with Ayahuasca and only followed the Dieta. The Dieta prepared me well. I know others who have been aided by Kambo before ceremony to assist in going deeper with Ayahuasca. However Ayahuasca is powerful enough to meet and heal you where you are. The only thing I suggest is doing the Dieta (that’s a must) and once you’re in ceremony with Ayahuasca you can consult with it and ask if you should include another medicine post ceremony .

    So is the dieta free from protein? Have you been shown not to eat meat post Aya or does the compassion relates to meat eaters?

  • @TheMindfulPlate

    @TheMindfulPlate

    Ай бұрын

    Great question! Dietas that ask you not to eat meat beforehand is about not ingesting spiritual harm and chemicals that meat is filled with in the industrialized West because of the factory farming and killing and also the use of chemicals that transfer to your body. In the indigenous communities where Ayahuasca is native, this is not a requirement as their meat is wild and uncontaminated. I’ve known some folks to eat chicken and fish while in ceremony because that source in the wild is pure. However I also want to be clear that the Dieta is not free of protein - there are non meat sources of protein like beans, legumes, greens, nuts and seeds that contain plenty to keep an adult healthy and balanced. Meat is not the only source of protein. Your unique experience will guide you on how to eat post Aya ceremony. Once the medicine is inside you, it will show you and transform your taste buds to guide you on what you need to eliminate, reduce and add to/from your diet.

    Hi Aj Ja, what I've found is that various Ayahuasca retreats have different guidelines. There are some variations depending on who you retreat with. In my case, what I found is that the diet was primarily anti-inflammatory and I ate avocado, banana and citrus and had no issues. At the end of the day, it's best to listen to your body! You'll know once you take Aya, whether or not you should've eaten certain things because she will tell you. But ultimately, you should be eating as close to the Earth as possible.

    Yep, I sure have! Iboga was a whole 'notha experience! I haven't done any videos on it, because I wasn't instructed to. With Ayahuasca, I got clear instructions to share my experience with y'all. With Iboga, it was deeply personal. I do talk about it 1-1 and when folks ask though. Definitely worth trekking to the motherland to experience such a powerful reset.

    What about eating fish and other meats after Ayahuasca? They are from the earth because they eat what is from the earth

  • @TheMindfulPlate

    @TheMindfulPlate

    10 ай бұрын

    Good question! The only way “they are from The Earth because they eat what is on the Earth” is if you are hunting for yourself. If you are buying from a farm or from a store that’s not true. Farm or factory farm meat that eventually finds its way into a market or store has been exposed to other types of feed that aren’t part of the natural ecosystem of a free animal. I think it’s best to consult Ayahuasca in ceremony and ask what diet is recommended particularly for you as an individual! That’s what I did and I was able to get insight on how to eat best for my body and also basic principles that I teach/share with others - which is how this video was created ☺️ Meat and fish aren’t condemned by Ayahuasca, in some indigenous communities where they sit with Ayahuasca in ceremonies, it’s okay for it to be included in the dieta, because they live off the land truly. But for most Westerners or outsiders coming to sit with this medicine, it’s best to stay away from meat and fish before your Ayahuasca ceremony because it’s not pure and is often polluted with toxins and chemicals.

    This goes against my carnivore diet, that I believe in as strongly as I believe in the Goddess. But I do eat fruit. Meat, foul, fish, eggs, and fruit. And the only spice I use is sea salt. And therefore, a plain diet is the norm for me. And I do believe that I can understand the need for plant based diet for the medicine. So, I was wondering if I can eat just fruit before the ceremonies?

    As long as you don't consume meat 30 days before the ceremony you'll be better off. The truth is, you can eat whatever you want before the ceremony and abandon the diet alltogether BUT there are CONSEQUENCES to this. You have to consider that you are asking a very wise plant to give you guidance and healing....and that plant requires that you show up a certain way. Mama Aya asks you to make sacrifices and begin the detoxification process so she can spend less time clearing out rotting flesh (carnivore diet) and more time purifying other things that need to be dealt with. So yes, fruit will suffice, however you're welcome to consume vegetables, nuts, seeds, living foods.

    @@HappyBeeTV-BeeHappy I'm not mistaken, I'm clear that the retreat I attended asked us not to consume any meat, chicken, fish nor eggs. There are other retreats that say it's okay. To each their own. Here's what I've learned. Depending on how you source your meat, chicken, fish and eggs....it can affect your ceremony. If you're eating meat, chicken , fish or eggs that are factory farmed (typical of Western food industry - Brazil, US, etc.) you are eating an energy of death and destruction and fear and harm. And ultimately you take that energy into the ceremony with you. And you end up having to purge that extra energy that isn't yours to begin with. So if you want to eat it.....by all means....that's between you and Mama Aya. But as for me and mine, I recommend that folks eat plant-based and avoid animals and animal products before, during and after ceremony to ensure that the only ENERGY you're dealing with in ceremony is your own.

    No disrespect to you as a person, but having the mindset of "Ayahausca is a calling", "she chooses you", "you have to make sacrifices" is exhausting me. The idea of essentially getting into contact with a godly holy plant, whereas I am only a mere human, to me that makes me feel small. I am a human being. I am just as much of an expression of the genius of nature as any plant on this earth. As someone who has pretty much always suffered from the yoke of authority, going into a ceremony with that mindset feels extremely oppressive. In fact this mindset has led to two binge eating episodes for me prior to ceremonies, where I simply felt so much pressure meeting this divine "being". Being online, reading message boards, it turns out that a lot of people falter in their dieta. I think the mindset I referred to in the beginning is building expectations and it puts too much pressure on the individual. Respecting and loving nature, most people who consider taking Ayahuasca are already in that crowd and they are already too hard on themselves. At least I know that to be true about my own self.

    That’s an interesting perspective. I’ve never met anyone in the Aya community who’s expressed feeling pressure. Binge eating can be a symptom of restriction. If you treat the dieta like a restrictive diet, it could be a trigger -- especially if you have a history of bingeing. For me I treat the dieta as purely preparation just as I would study for a test. I also don’t see myself as a lowly human being. So my mindset has never been that. Instead I see that I’m going to be healed and willing to take my healing seriously enough to do the preparation that’s asked of me. And the folks that I’ve met on this journey are also in the same mindset. Set and setting are everything when it comes to Ayahuasca. And the set aka your mindset make a huge difference when it comes to plant medicine💫 So perhaps your “oppression” and “pressure” are feelings that you are bringing to the medicine and not what the medicine is bringing to you😉 Also there’s no doubt that humans are a genius expression of nature…the problem is many humans (yourself included) aren’t in touch with their genius so they need the guidance of plants like Ayahuasca. Think about it ….Aya isn’t bingeing… you are. That’s a reflection of being out of touch with your “genius expression”
