That must've been quite terrifying.. you have to go to a deep mental zone just to keep pushing to survive

It's tough to call it human error as there was a reasonable amount of troubleshooting and deductive reasoning made when the initial issue was identified during his prior space walk. This is a unique case, glad to hear that improvements and revisions were made from this experience.

It is amazing that we haven't lost anyone in the time the ISS has been in service. It speaks to the incredibly high standards for safety and care. All we need to do is maintain that standard. Easier said than done, that.

Another thing that should be learnt from that experience is that water buildup is a lot more serious. They don't say how much time passed between noticing the water and then 800ml and then water over eyes and ears. Cancel spacewalk if water builds up in helmet.

1:30 This would be something that I would say, "Lets abort the space walk, get back inside." At the very least, move into the airlock, seal the door and work the problem from there. If you can fix it, fine, open the door and continue. But if you are in the airlock with the door shut you can pressurize the airlock and get his helmet off quickly.

The thing that got to me was when NASA separated the two astronauts. From basic training to flight school you never leave your teammate ever. For that to be necessary you have to know stuff was serious.

Yes, the suit was revised , but, the real question is where did the metillic tasting water come from (in space)?. Some water trapped from pre launch in the suit vs being drown in it is different. The Bible speaks about the firmament ( in the sky) dividing the waters.

If there is water in this helmet, put him in the ISS, it’s not that difficult. If something is not supposed to happen and it’s happening stop it
