Well written, even the narrator made the same mistakes saying the Ashantis become rich due to slave trade and gold, but it is totally wrong the Ashantis were the ones being enslaved by the Dankyiras to the Fantes and later being sold to the Europeans. And when they later rebel against the Dankyiras and the Fantes. They now see the Ashantis as enemies without telling the truth.

Your history is not accurate. You are misleading people. The Ashanti dynasty are Moshie people who migrated from burkina. They were not part of the original Akans who came from Mali area but went through Sahel, and Nubia before entering Ghana from Ivory Coast to techiman to form Bono kingdom. When they arrived at Bono kingdom from the north nana twi the Bono hene settled them in tanaso, tuobodom, etc near techiman. That is why still the Ashantis lay claim to these towns as theirs. They have historical relevance. It is this area that they became so interested in the Akan culture and got indoctrinated. The Ashanti dynasty picked the same family as the bonohene, which is Oyoko. They move down south and settled in bosomtwe area first. Admittedly, when they got to the current Ashanti region there were spillover of Akans who have already settled there. Then they started fighting the original Akans who have already settled in the current Ashanti to subjugate them in order to establish their kingdom replicating the Bono kingdom. So, some of the real Akans who didn’t want to submit to moshie people rule left and they include Baoule people led by Obaa Poku to settle in Ivory Coast. These things are well grounded in the literature. You are trying to supplant your own version of history.
